Being that i'm young (not twelve, but still saw your comment about them), i don't want to be "That Guy" who sounds like he's attacking you for it, i'm just wondering what we did wrong and how we can fix it so we can revive the article. Hi there. Since you seem to know a lot of the basics of wikipedia, I'm wondering if you can clear something up for me. I know that notability and credibility are huge parts of wikipedia, so to make sure I am a completely transparent user, I disclosed that I am an employee of the Cancer Research Institute and gave my contact information there. Have I done this correctly? Is there any information or statements that I should add or remove? I want to make sure that I can make factual changes to pages in the realm of cancer immunology without seeming like I have personal interests involved and staying neutral. Some parts like the faculty list appear to be copied from elsewhere but I'm not convinced the entire article was, even if it's not formatted like a standard entry. It was deleted because it had been (or very very much looked like it had been) copied from a pre-existing corporate website. It felt promotional. If you can write an article about the company from scratch, using neutral language, and complying with the style recommendations in WP:LEAD, that will probably be good. (e/c)Most of it seems to be copied from here (one click away from the only link in the article) and the links in the sidebar of that page. It took me about 10 seconds to find that. In any case, the article is pretty blatantly advertising copy and short of a bunch of buzzwords like "Differentiated by its outstanding innovative technology" makes almost no assertion of notability. I'd add criterion A7 to the mix - an article about an organisation that "does not indicate why its subject is important or significant." Despite this, the article cited no references to assert notability or verifiability. Ah, you're right, Z-Man, I didn't spot that page (and it isn't indexed on Google). As for being advertisement, the forthright name of the user was in compliance of WP:COI - the tone of the article may have been a problem, but I don't think it's a valid G11 (it could have been edited into shape without being "fundamentally rewritten"). It was also not a valid A7 because it made clear claims of importance, such as "[b]road endorsement of ISCOM technology by well-reputed vaccine manufacturers; 8 license deals and 4 veterinary products marketed." But unless Isconova explicitly licenses the material from their webpage, it can't be used as the basis for an article, and I will accept the deletion on that basis. If the tone of the entire article is promotional, it would need an entire rewrite to be salvageable. Once you remove the meaningless buzzwords and marketing-speak, you're left with a list of board members and some random facts. See Wikipedia:Donating_copyrighted_materials#Granting_us_permission_to_copy_material_already_online. In short, you have to contact your company's legal department, who will then either have to place a suitable GFDL license statement on the webpages you use as source material, or send a GFDL permission letter to permissions-en@wikimedia.org. Once you've done this you can use as much of this material as you like in the article. If this were done I would restore and help clean up the original article. Deletion of The 2904
Was wondering why the page The 2904 was deleted, and how it is not notable. It has the same history and content as similar events such as The 24 Hours of Lemons, and it just had a 7 page article in Top Gear magazine with a subscription base of over 1.8 million in the UK and 22 editions worldwide. Deletion of Alpha Phi Gamma
I'd like to know why this page was deleted? There are over 50 other Greek organizations with pages on wikipedia. The page followed the same patterns as the other greek organizations (alpha kappa kappa, alpha phi alpha, alpha kappa delta phi, etc) describing the history of the organization, their locations and the types of community service they participate in. Alpha Phi Gamma is the same type of organization as any other Greek organization that currently exists. The links from these organizations all lead to external links related to their organization's websites. It seems out of pattern that the page for Alpha Phi Gamma cannot exist when there are others already posted. Aphigarchives (talk)

Alpha Phi Gamma is located at 9 different universities at present and growing. Each of the Universities Alpha Phi Gamma is a part of has it listed as a Greek organization. You can refer to University of Missouri's greek page listed on Wikipedia for confirmation of theirs ("MU Greek Life"). By greek standards, an organization is considered national when there are a minimum of 7 locations. There are quite a few greek organizations that are smaller than Alpha Phi Gamma that have their own pages. All are listed as Greek organizations on at least two or three other pages within wikipedia itself ("List of social fraternities and sororities"). Deletion of Electromagnetic Fields Recorded in Mesocyclones
I loaded Electromagnetic Fields Recorded in Mesocyclones which has plenty of references and the copy is transferable as per The National Weather Digest policy. It has been inserted in many other online encyclopedias as well. It was accepted into the National Weather Digest upon a two year peer review. I was editing it in my spare time to fit Wikipedia's criteria online and was hoping others would come online to help contribute. If you wanted a perfect copy up in the first place, then why do you allow any just Tom, Dick, and Harry to edit all existing articles and to place any random text up? Electromagnetic Fields Recorded in Mesocyclones has merit. Instead of simply "Deleting", could you not find it within your "Expert" writing field to help fine tune or even help to make recommendations to get this fixed as per Wikipedias criteria? I did look carefully at what you changed and I rather resent your claim that I did not. Your edit still remains inappropriate with claims like this "Marysville depended heavily on tourism" (my bolding) and removal of "During the snow season, the population of the town may double or even triple, due to the influx of other hospitality and tourism caterers, such as ski hire, toboggan hire, chain hire, and many other profitable ventures associated with snowplay and skiing." Tourism will take a hit but will continue; the town is still at the foot of the Lake Mountain ski resort and when the eucalypts regenerate (which they do remarkably quicky, being well adapted to a fire prone area) the area will regain its natural beauty.
This desire to write off the town and its industry less than a week after the fire is unseemly and quite frankly original research. Where is your evidence that Marysville will no longer rely on tourism? Do you even know which resorts and caravan parks have been destroyed? If you do you know more than most of the media in Aust. who have had limited access to the site. This is a start on monitoring who is doing the patrolling. It reports the stats of the last completed day according to GMT. The link to the log will not always be accurate because the stats exclude automatic patrolled pages, however they always appear in the log. To limit the impact of that design limitation of this hack, the log link takes the reader to "number of manually approved pages + 1" so the reader should expect an additional log entry from a prior day. Hi, I found this page in a google search. Regarding the term 'papayana', as a Sri Lankan Buddhist I've heard monks use it when describing history - where Mahayana was stamped out of Sri Lanka. I'm not sure if there are any written records, but if you ask some Sri Lankans you might find some info.

I'm not sure why you removed the DWITE page especially because that contact has been going on well before the owners at compsci.ca took over - it was and still is recognized among many high schools, how is it that once the owners of compsci.ca took over, it became "not notable"?
As well, if you search the web for help on Turing, you mind find your self constantly being referred to compsci.ca - why? Because its probably the largest (only?) site that provides support for Turing (programming language), that its self should make it notable.
Under what basis do you deem these pages "not notable" ?

Personal preference, I don't like "" too much, so I wouldn't bother putting "addend" and the other one in quotes. I think wikilink highlight is sufficient; I only use quotes for quoting. But I know others do.
Just thought I should explain that I reverted your edit on the article as I am in the middle of working on it, hence the "In Use" tag requesting other users not to edit while it is on there. Also your edit created an edit conflict as I was slap bang in the middle of an edit. I have though put most of your edit back in, however, I have also restored the Irish Sea wikilink which you removed and replaced with the generic "ocean" as Irish Sea is correct. Per our discussion on the talk page, I was wrong, I now saw that Encyclopedia Britannica used the same CC image on their article as did Wikipedia's article on Asbestosis.

Yesterday, I noticed the very long list of old comments attached to my user name. Mostly, things to people who don't seem to be on Wikipedia anymore or on comment pages that are no longer relevent to the articles. With no forethought of malice I started removing some of these old comments. I didn't know this is not allowed, why should I not be able to remove a comment from 2004 concerning a photograph on a page that doesn't even have a photograph anymore? Another thing that I removed was an outrageous accusation that I knew nothing about until yesterday which accused me of switching a picture of Cardinal Law with another photo. Most likely what happened is that I loaded a picture of Law and someone else loaded a picture using the same jpg name that I did so the photo changed. Anyway, Spock's father puts all those edits back claiming I couldn't do that. Then he starts following my other edits and reverting some of them. He changed the references on a page that had exactly four references. He changed with the 1. abc and 2 ab, which I find confusing and I did not find necessary on a page with four ref. When I changed it he started an edit war. He added back two labels for orphaned articles that I had removed because there were links to the pages. He then voted on another page that I voted to keep so he voted to delete, on things I never had seen him interested in before. I know that he is deliberately doing this to get me into an edit war and such because I have had experience with him and Blueboar before over some articles and my userpage. I'm tired of this type of behavior. Anyway, I don't plan on biting, but I don't plan on letting him push me around either, trying to speak reason to him and let him know that his behavior is that of a troll, he can feign ignorance if he likes, but he knows exectly what he's been doing. Re: Hop Cast
In January you deleted the page for the video beer podcast "Hop Cast". Since the deletion of the that page the Hop Cast has gotten free beer from a few breweries to review on the show; "Bridges Brewery" and "Buck Bean Beer." Local breweries are see that an outlet like the Hop Cast is a place for them to springboard into the public. In episode 30 we showed how to brew your own home brew, the Hop Cast is no longer just two guys who drink been and talk about it. Please let me know if this would allow us to get our wiki page back. Could you please explain why this entry was deleted (without prior warning) and why there is apparently no deletion log available. It simply disappeared off my 'watch list'!

What do you mean, no deletion log available? How do you think you found out who deleted the article?
You found out by looking at the deletion log. The deletion log does not provide access to the deleted content (unless you are an admin); it only tells you what was deleted, who deleted it, when it was deleted, and why -- in your case, it was because you copied (most of) the article out of Revue de Médecine Véterinaire. "Copyvio" means "violation of copyright".
You are welcome to write a fresh article about the Croatian Sighthound, and you can use RdMV as a source of information... but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. DS (talk) 02:20, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
That was a direct "quote" from a scientific journal, gained by personal correspondence with one of the the authors. No copyright violation whatsoever! It would show some discretion, and courtesy, on your side if you would signal a proposal to delete, with reasons why, which could be discussed or remedied without all the material now being lost to me. I would prefer a direct quote with attribution, instead of a form of plagiarism. Please retrieve and supply the original page text, if only to me personally. Since I'm not an advanced editor, am I able to "warn" Matty Duh Renzo about his continual vandalism to this article? I'm sure this guy was always the "non-user" making these same edits. If you look at the history of Matty Duh Renzo, pretty much the only edits he makes are vandalism on the Trentonian article. If I'm allowed to warn him, just tell me how, and I'll do it. And I also welcome you to help me out on improving a very important article to the arthropod project, Insects, as you can see I did a lot a work, but it still needs help; the suggestions were made, stated here:
The lead currently isn't a summary of the article... see Wikipedia:Lead_section; make sure everything in the lead is discussed in the article itself: i.e., the etymology of entomology should also be in the article text; all of the specific stats about size and extremes need to be in the main text as well.
There are several 1- or 2-sentence "paragraphs" that should either be expanded or combined in some way.
The external links section could use a trim and copyedit
The references should be reorganized into Footnotes" and "references", and often-used sources listed in the Reference section (thinking specifically of the Gullan, P.J.; P.S. Cranston (2005) reference); see the MOS for more details; would also suggest trimming down the "Further reading" section, and instead incorporating some of those as cited sources.

Who can help with inserting images into an article?
I have just about used up an entire tree (!) printing out how-to's about images, but I'm clearly overlooking a crucial step in the process. I have uploaded a picture from my computer ---entitled "Small_sonometer_colored.jgp. And I have done (I think) the requisite things to show that it's a 17th-century engraving in the public domain, touched up with a few colors by me. I saw the image, etc, and all the information... But on the page I am working on --- entitled: "Sonomètre of Loulié" --- I clearly am not inserting the right information. I have put "

Speedy (!) Deletion of article about Classical Pianist Orion Weiss
Dear DragonflySixtySeven,
Yes, you are right that the article (which took me many many hours to write) is about someone near and dear to me.
However it is completely documented and verifiable, if you check the links and references. Orion Weiss has achieved everything indicated in the primary references to newspaper articles. He has two CD's for sale on Amazon.com.
His accomplishments are every bit as interesting and important as many other pianists with Wiki pages that have not been deleted--Jonathan Biss, or David Fong for example.
This is my first attempt to write something in Wikipedia. After I created the page on my registered page I could not figure out how to separate the page from the place I created it when I redirected it.
I think the Orion Weiss entry can stand alone. If necessary, perhaps someone else can post it so it is no longer connected to my wikipedia page.
Please advise how to proceed. This article DOES belong in wikipedia.

DS, this user was blocked indef by you back in September '08 for violating WP:OR on Duke of Albany. I'd like to unblock; he has started trying to justify his edits via sources. Misunderstanding continues on my part
Thanks for your answer dragonfly. Sorry about your electricity. I am pleased that the entry was not deleted, which was my original misunderstanding. The problem I continue to see is as follows: When I search Google, for "Orion Weiss Wikipedia", I come up with "User-MiriamWeiss - Wikipedia" That page of course has been deleted. At present there seems to be no way to find the "Orion Weiss Wikipedia" entry using a google search. I CAN find it by searching within Wikipedia. Also the "Orion Weiss" Wikipedia article can only be opened through a link, such as the "List of classical pianists".
I would like to know how to erase "User-MiriamWeiss - Wikipedia" from Wikipedia or Google, and have a search for "Orion Weiss" list the wiki article directly. Is that possible? What must I do?
