The PSP Go (styled PSPgo or PSP go, model PSP-N1000)[1] is a version of the PlayStation Portable handheld videogame console to be manufactured by Sony.[2][3][4][5][6] It is scheduled for release on October 1, 2009 in American and European territories. It was revealed prior to E3 2009 through Sony's Qore VOD service.[5] Although its design is significantly different from other PSP's, it is not intended to replace the PSP 3000 which Sony will continue to manfacture, sell and support.[3]

Features and design

Unlike previous PSP's, the PSP Go does not feature a UMD but instead has 16 GB of internal flash memory to store games, video and other media.[6] this can be extended by up to 32GB with the use of a Memory Stick Micro. It is 45% lighter and 56% smaller than the original PSP.[3] It has a 3.8" 480x272 LCD which slides up to reveal the main controls[7] (compared to 4.3" on previous PSP models) and is similar to the iPod Touch (at 3.5").[8]

Connectivity

Like previous PSP's, the PSP Go features built-in wi-fi and a USB port but also supports Bluetooth connectivity enabling the use of compatible Bluetooth headsets and tethering with Bluetooth enabled mobile phones.

Games

Because the PSP Go does not feature a UMD drive, games are downloaded from the PlayStation Store. The PlayStation Store can be accessed directly from the device, or games can be downloaded from the PlayStation Store on the PlayStation 3 or through Media Go and transferred to the PSP via a USB connection. Games currently announced include PSP versions of LittleBigPlanet, Jak and Daxter, Gran Turismo and Metal Gear Solid although all PSP and PlayStation games currently available for download will also be compatible and will fuck the ds
