Nanda (also Nandha) is a Surname surname of Indo-Scythian. Like other Khatri clans. Nanda is a Lohar, Khatri, Jatt, Ramgarhia, Gujjar, Kamboj and Rajput surname.All the clans of Jat, Rajput, Tarkhan (Punjab), Lohar, Gujjar, Khatri and Kamboj tribes have close Genetic as well as Ancestral relation with each other.The people of these tribes are said to be of Indo-Scythian origin.The clans of these seven tribes are common in all tribes.

Among Khatris

Nanda clan is mostly found among Khatri people of Punjab (India) and Punjab (Pakistan). Nanda Khatris are found among Sikhs, Punjabi Hindus and Punjabi Muslims.

Among Kamboj people

Nanda (and Nandha) is also a Kamboj clan name found among the Sikhs and Hindus Kamboj of India [1][2][3].

Among Rajputs

Nanda is an Chandravanshi Rajput clan found among Sikh Rajputs, Mair Rajputs, Muslim Rajputs and Rajputs of Rajasthan. They are found in India and Pakistan.

Nanda is a Muslim Jat and a Jatt Sikh surname found in Punjab (India) and Punjab (Pakistan). It is also a Hindu Jat Clan found Haryana.

As a Gujjar surname

Many Sikh Gujjars of Chandigarh, Amritsar, Patiala have a clan called Nanda.

Among people of Tarkhan (Punjab) tribe

Tarkhan people/Ramgarhias of Mohali, Jallandhar, Amritsar, Chandigarh have Nanda as their surname.
