Ross Thomson (born 21 September 1987 in Aberdeen) is the Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Gordon in the United Kingdom general election, 2010. He is standing against the incumbent Liberal Democrat MP Malcolm Bruce.
Early life
Ross was born in the north east of Scotland and educated there. He has lived in the Aberdeenshire area his whole life. He read Politics and International Relations at the University of Aberdeen, graduating with a first class MA(Hons) degree in 2009[1].
Political career
During his university career, Ross Thomson was the Vice-Chairman of University of Aberdeen Conservative & Unionist Association.
He previously stood for the Scottish Parliament in the 2007 elections for the Coatbridge and Chryston constituency, coming third behind Labour MSP Elaine Smith and the Scottish National Party candidate[2].
In the United Kingdom general election, 2010, Ross was selected as candidate for the Scottish constituency of Gordon representing the Scottish Conservative Party. He has received some high profile endorsements, including Michael Gove MP, the Shadow Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families[3]
Personal life
Ross currently lives in Kintore, Aberdeenshire and enjoys going to the cinema, walks and reading.
