List of tallest buildings in Canada

This is a list of the tallest skyscrapers in Canada. This list does not include the CN Tower, as it is not technically considered to be a skyscraper. To qualify, a building must be quoted by a reliable source as having an official height of more than 500 feet (152 m). All sources are updated as of May, 2011.

Buildings are ranked according to their height to architectural top, as provided by multiple sources.

As of May 2011, there is a total of 63 completed and under construction buildings in Canada with an official height of 500 feet (152 m) or more. 61 of them have a roof height of at least 500 feet (152 m). Toronto has the most entries on the list with a total of 37, accounting for more than half of the buildings on the list. Calgary ranks second with 14 entries, followed by Montreal with 6, Vancouver with 3, Mississauga with 2 and lastly Niagara Falls with 1.

The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) recently revised their list, changing the order of some buildings. However their list is still not completely up to date, not taking into account for instance the height increase applied to Toronto's ICE towers.

Some Canadian cities enforce height restriction laws. In Ottawa, skyscrapers could not be built above the height of the Peace Tower until the late 1970s, when the restriction was changed so that no building could overwhelm the skyline. In Montreal, skyscrapers cannot be built above the elevation of Mount Royal. The City of Vancouver has enacted "view corridors" which limit the height of buildings in most areas of downtown. The City of Edmonton has an elevation restriction, approximately 492 ft (150 m) above downtown, due to the proximity of the city centre airport.
