I notice that this article has been deleted multiple times as overtly promotional. While the article had issues, and its creation by a user clearly associated with the project is problematic, I think the article had some merits. I believe that a non-promotional version could have been wrestled from the version that existed, and since this software appears to be the mandated form of document signature software in Spain, it would appear to be notable enough. Hello Lectonar, I am writing to you concerning a particular article: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Februtosus&action=view I believe you deleted this page because it is a "made up holiday", but it is that fact that makes it so important. This is a made up holiday that is celebrated at midwest United States college campus every year to celebrate the coming of March. It was started in 2003 and continues to this day because of an ever growing amount of support from the student body. I am a very new user to wikipedia in terms of editing, but would you please allow me to reinstate the page and update the information? Thank you for your consideration. Deletion of WheelTug Page
Lectonar, I was surprised to see the deletion of the WheelTug page, and I have looked into the matter and discovered that the WheelTug website thought the article was so good in explaining the WheelTug system that they simply reposted it. The Copywrite symbol was on the frame of the web page and not the article itself. (It provides legal protection for them.) How can I get the article reposted and what should I tell them about whatever accredation change they should include at http://www.wheeltug.com/overview.shtml Is it enough for them to just add a line saying the information was taken from Wikipedia? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chovesh (talk • contribs) 15:45, 9 March 2011 (UTC)

Deletion of "Oglaf" article. March 10 2011
Hello, I am writing to ask for permission to write another article on the webcomic "Oglaf". I realize that in my original article I did not properly convey why this was notable enough to warrant being written about. This is a relatively new webcomic, and the artist who does it already has another article on her previous work ("Platinum Grit"), and I've been seeing progressively more of Oglaf on the web. I came on wikipedia wanting to read up on it, and when I found there wasn't an article up I was hoping to help.
If it's alright, I'd like permission to write a more fleshed out article that properly cites the subject's notability. Thank you. Smokefilledroom (talk) 00:54, 11 March 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Smokefilledroom (talk • contribs) 08:09, 10 March 2011 (UTC)

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference
Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.
On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion, guidelines for use at WP:MINOR). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true
. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false
in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and all users will still be able to manually mark their edits as being minor in the usual way.
For well-established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.
Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 20:27, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

What about the content of the article or it's appropriate format is "promotional" or advertising? (Full article below sans formatting) The guidelines have been adhered to; the references are credible sources, the formatting is in context with a wiki-compliant article. It makes no sense-- There are companies and iphone apps which have wiki pages which are purely promotional. Please highlight what it is exactly about this article that is unfit for publication on wikipedia? Videoequipmentdiva (talk) 18:21, 25 March 2011 (UTC)videoequipmentdiva
The deleted article was written by CrewsControlCam and it was deleted. I responded to that article with "hang on" while I researched the company. On March 25, a new article-- a completely rewritten article written in NPOV and in accordance to wiki guidelines was reposted. You didn't nominate it for deletion you just deleted it. about OCR
What is the objective reason for removal of my edits in the article "List of optical character recognition software"? Do you claim that Nicomsoft CrystalOCR is not the OCR? Or do you know that Leadtools does not use OmniPage? Your corrections distort the real information about the existing OCRs. If you think it is advertising, then the entire article may be considered advertising. Some of the programs mentioned in the article are resellers or shells, rather than actual OCR. You removed both articles about Nicomsoft and tne note about its OCR in the article about OCRs. I agree that you can consider the article about Nicomsoft as some kind of promotion, but I do not understand why you removed the note about its OCR (CrystalOCR). --Vlajet (talk) 09:24, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
interview request
Hello, My name is Natalia Olaru and I am a final year master student in the Corporate Communication programme at the Aarhus School of Business in Denmark. I am currently working on my final paper on the topic of the motivation of users to create content on collaborative media websites, the focus being Wikipedia. As a sample I chose the English and Danish portals. I would like to invite you for an online interview on the topic of what motivates you, as a user, to participate in editing and creating articles for this platform. Your real identity, and wikipedia account will be kept confidential through the paper. I plan on doing the actual interviews in the period between 6st and the 15th of May via Skype, MSN, Google Talk or Yahoo Messenger. I am, however, open to other channels of communication too. Can you please offer me some advice
Dear Gosh, I just submitted an article to inform wikipedia users about the 'British School of Bucharest'. The school is a Non profit school and the information is not intended to sell the school but rather to inform people about the school so that they know it exists and have a little information about it. There are almost no adjectives hyping it up or information about the programmes offered, prices, etc. Just information about the school itself, the accreditation it has, location, facilities, and some info about the school whihc may by of some interest, such as the Planet BSB initiative and The debating club, both of which made into into local newspapers. I have looked at listings for other schools including IBSB in Bucharest, the International British School of Bucharest and I cannot see what is different. Can you please inform me as to which part of the content in particular contravenes your guidelines please so that I can rewrite it. Thank you for your help. Dorian Aur - Page Removal
Hi there,
It appears that you feel that the page is very negative towards his person and it is rightfully so. What DORIAN AUR is saying is that he FOUND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE. Take a moment to ponder about the implications of that. He is not following the proper channels for presenting new discoveries: posting on sites and mailing lists is removing the chance of getting it peer-reviewed and accepted as a regular theoretical finding. Given his position at Stanford, his odd behaviour, his claims and his recent bashing of Christoff Koch, a pillar of the neuroscience community (i.e. see hist latest post from comp-neuro list), he is inflicting serious damage upon the community. The truth about his work and his behaviour must be presented in one form or the other.
Thanks,

Educating and warning users prior to blocks, notifying users of blocks, talk page access setting
I've just come across a user you blocked for {{spamusername}} who had submitted a username change request about half an hour prior to their being blocked (BioAsia (talk · contribs)).
In looking into this, I noticed that you are fairly active in making such blocks, and in a good number of instances these users have not been appropriate counseled about our username policy prior to being blocked (Wikipedia:Blocking policy#Education and warnings). In nearly all instances, you did not leave a notification to the user about why they were blocked, as required by the blocking policy (Wikipedia:Blocking policy#Explanation of blocks).
I also notice that you have restricted talk page access for nearly every one of these blocks. Revoking talk page access is generally reserved for users who are known to abuse their talk page while blocked. (Wikipedia:Blocking policy#Setting block options)
Please review Wikipedia:Blocking policy and make the necessary adjustments. Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you, –xenotalk 13:40, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
Speedy deletion way too fast
Hi, I just logged in and I see you speedy-deleted the page laboratory phonology that I created based on claims of copyright infringement, before I even had a chance to see what is going on. It took me awhile to create this page, and when I did so, it did not have any text from the infringing page on www.museumstuff.com -- I haven't even heard of this page. Speedy-deletion like this is hostile and uncalled-for -- I can't even see the former text that I wrote and correct it by removing whatever offending text was added. The world is not going to come to an end if you wait more than a few hours and don't act so precipitously, so that people like me can actually fix the page. Note also section G12 of WP:Speedy deletion, which says the following:
- Only if the history is unsalvageably corrupted should it be deleted in its entirety; earlier versions without infringement should be retained.
Since the history was certainly not "unsalvageably corrupted" in this case, you should definitely not have speedy-deleted it. Please undelete this page, thanks. Benwing (talk) 04:22, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
- BTW I looked at the supposed source of the copyvio -- [2] -- and it doesn't even have any text to speak of on it, so I don't see how anything could have been added to the WP article that's a copyvio. Benwing (talk) 04:32, 8 September 2011 (UTC)

As a result of the page move to fix the capitalization, a typo version redirect was left behind, so I've placed a CSD tag on it to clean things up on Annegret soltau requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R3 of the criteria for speedy deletion,ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 14:24, 12 September 2011 (UTC)
Hi Lectonar,
You recently deleted this article under G12, and then promptly restored it. I'm hazarding a guess that this restoration was because the cited webpage was not the original source of the material. I've since inserted the correct original source of the copyvio into the speedy deletion template.
If you restored the article for other reasons, fair enough.
Cheers, Yunshui (talk) 12:58, 19 September 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for your email. I don't think restoring the page will be necessary. Regardless of how clear a hoax it is, I don't think the page would have survived very long anyway: there was no assertion that the fictional universe this character belonged to meets WP:NBOOKS. However, I believe that whenever a character is declared fictional in an article, "truth" is whatever is in the creator's mind even when it defies common sense, and that's why I was careful not to declare the whole thing a hoax. See Neo (The Matrix). -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 00:16, 23 September 2011 (UTC)

Userfication request - Hortax - the Horticultural Taxonomy Group
Hi Lectonar!
This was my "Contested deletion" comment on the talk page:
Talk:Hortax - the Horticultural Taxonomy Group
While this started as an unambiguous cut and paste from various pages from the http://www.hortax.org.uk/index.html websites , it would not appear to be unambiguously promotional, just a rather somewhat ill-advised but good faith attempt at creating a Wikipedia article. I've chopped out the offending text. I would suggest that WP:A7 may be a better CSD criterion, though I will be working on the article to avoid that.--Shirt58 (talk) 10:44, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
I suggest you may possibly have read the version that was an unambiguous copyvio. The choice to WP:USERFY is of course, yours, and I will abide by whatever decision you make.--Shirt58 (talk) 10:56, 10 November 2011 (UTC)

Hello Lectonar,
Under the Hebrew definition of a "copywriter"here i have uploaded this picture File:Http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/8024/42967923377993581267993.jpg' it is a photograph of a Hebrew copywriter.
i was informed it was deleted for vandalizing, or something of that nature. I don't see the reason why?.
thank you for your kind help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Metalny (talk • contribs) 16:06, 15 December 2011 (UTC)
Hi, I hope that you did take your time to actually read what I have written about the Cif2.net subject. I know that you are busy and I ask you kindly to take your time properly with every article, or if you think that the topic bores you, at least leave it to someone who actually cares.
I am waiting your reply and please tell me what you think I have omitted in the article I've written. Wikipedia is about gathering information, not about deleting it.

Deletion of Maharaja Agrasen College, Jagadhri
Dear administrator, i myself rewrote the whole article a few hours ago from the beginning. You may have deleted it because of the tag. But you can check that it was well within the rules and regulations of wikipedia. In the rewritten article one couldn't even find a hint of advertising. I request very hopefully to you to undelete the article respecting my hard work done in re-editing that article.Garvit (talk) 11:16, 28 December 2011 (UTC)

Confusing selective deletion, apparent lack of response to queries about your administrative actions
I'm confused as to why you have today selectively deleted two queries from users from your talk page history: [3] [4]. Could you explain why these edits have been deleted from your talk page history? These seem to be good faith queries from users who are inquiring about your administrative actions.
On a related note: looking through your talk page history, there have been many queries from users about your actions, and most seem to have gone without reply. Please remember that, as administrators, we are bound by policy to respond "promptly and civilly to queries about their Wikipedia-related conduct and administrator actions and to justify them when needed." –xenotalk 15:49, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

welcome the decline of wikipedia - scholarpedia will do better
I want to correct my reply to your question. After all, I welcome the decline of wikipedia, as it will make room for scholarpedia.
it is not about any lack of deference to scholars felt in WP, quite the contrary: editors revere expert opinion and "secondary sources" too much. With scholarpedia, there is the guarantee of good editors (Nobel prizes, etc..).
I did not ask for that much. A teenager enforcing normal rules (give priority to verifiable evidence over expert opinion) would have been enough to keep me on WP.
Maybe this division is unavoidable: quality content on SP, poor content on WP.
SP is a peer-reviewed "secondary source", quotable in WP. But will there remain someone on WP to quote it properly? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dynsys (talk • contribs) 23:13, 25 January 2012 (UTC)

Feedback on templates
Hi there,
I was speaking of infoboxes and templates in general, having none specifically in mind but rather they excessive sprinkling throughout the site. I just realized however that it is not as invasive here as on the French one (my port of call, so to speak; I only came here to steal the code for the picture of Beef Stroganoff), where they literally use templates for anything (even dates or not-so-large (>100) numbers) - but then these guys didn't offer me the chance to complain about it! But then even on the English version I would find that seeing the box code first thing when I open a page for edition is kind of a deal breaker.
Thanks anyway for the quick reply, much appreciated. I see someone already gave you a bunch of barnstars for that: keep up the good work!
Best regards, Karl Vatel (talk) 14:52, 30 January 2012 (UTC)
PS: since I'm at it, I should say I also have a hard time understanding why editing is in Times New Roman while articles are in Arial or Helvetica (sans serif). Just sayin' ;-)
Game-Debate help!
Hi Lectonar. I have no idea who you are or if you are an admin but since you were gracious enough to reply to my feedback, I'd like to ask for your help. I have been updating the Game-Debate page on my spare time but the users have nominated it again for deletion due to insufficient information. I don't want to sound impolite, so I will ask it smoothly but: is that some kind of joke? I am still updating the page or does a page need to be done wholly? Is that it?
Anyway, I want to upload the logo of GD to wikipedia's image list but I am having trouble. The site owner gave me permission to do so but if I select that option a speedy deletion appears. Some of the warnings that show are really annoying and leave you with no other option but to forget about this and just leave. I will not give up so easily though.

User AzseicsoK
Thanks for your reply. I'm having to respond as an IP User. I posted the question by way of a link at the top of the page--something about commenting on editing experience. Apart from that, when I log in, I suddenly have nothing by way of a search box or the options normally at the top of the page. I can't even log out; I have to get off the Internet completely. It happened suddenly, when I was playing with Userboxes. BTW, I too can get to my User Page--as in IP User. It does seem that I can get messages on my User Page. That's where I saw yours. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.147.236.195 (talk) 15:51, 1 March 2012 (UTC)
- The problem somehow solved itself. First, I discovered that I did seem to have the necessary links; they were just sort of scattered and mish-mashed on top of itself at the bottom of the page. Second, I found out that after I created my account yesterday, my email had been putting the confirmation messages from Wikipedia into my spam box. I got them and acknowledged them; the problem was still there. But now, I come back a couple of hours later, and everything seems to be where it's supposed to be.

Kindergarten.com
While I sincerely appreciate your counsel, I would respectfully ask you to remove the speedy deletion flag from Kindergarten.com and allow the link to live naturally and let users respond, exactly the way it is. There is no shameless promotion going on here. This is a standalone stub relating to a popular culture altruistic entity - and has been featured in relevant news articles including 60 minutes, with references provided.. There is just a limited wire-frame of information with supporting data included. There is no shameless self promotion afoot here. Won't you please keep this article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FTS MD (talk • contribs) 12:05, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
Help with userfication
Hi Lectonar,
I was wondering if you would consider userfying a deleted page for me. The page was located at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fournote It was deleted according to the G11 and G12 criteria. My goal in userfying this page is to work on a revision and attempt a restoration that will be a part of an ongoing series of assignments that I'm completing for an Advanced Composition English class. This particular assignment involves encouraging an awareness of how Wikipedia works, how to improve it, and -- especially -- how to recognize articles that do not comply with Wikipedia guidelines.

Re- directing articles
Hi, lectonar, Thank you for your motivational message(On giving my feedback). However i have a simple question on how to redirect the articles. I have been expanding the phrynoderma article, which is also called Hypovitaminosis A and also Follicular Hyperkeratosis. When i search for Focullar hyperkeratosis, it takes me to the page where there is a articles about the whole keratosis. But i want to re-direct the follicular keratosis page to phrynoderma.
Here's the map/tree for you to understand. Hypovitaminosis --> Phrynoderma
" <--- "
Now when people search follicular keratosis, i want it to be re-directed to phrynoderma or hypervitaminosis which are same. And also, please edit the phrynoderma article for spelling and grammatical mistakes because i'm just 16 from India and iam not experienced in writing. If you get ample time, could you please fix the reference link on the article. Thank you, Regards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dheer.rox14 (talk • contribs) 11:02, 7 March 2012 (UTC) I live to learn, i learn to share (talk) 11:18, 7 March 2012 (UTC)
