Are you sure? I know there has been information posted in the past regarding what wrestlers do at house shows, like when Tyler Reks first turned heel, it was during his work in house shows, and it was posted on his page. Yes, those "Sources" above are only rumors, but fans who appeared at house shows have confirmed that John Cena is working under the new gimmick of "Juan Cena". Not only that, but the booking sheets for next week's KOTR episode include the name as well, and I doubt it's a coincidence. So I'm assuming he will make an appearance on that night. I guess the best thing to do, which would work out well for all, is to wait and see if he uses the gimmick on TV, and if he does, then add it. But like I said, it's up to you guys, if house show activity is something you see as needing to be added, then I suggest add it, but if it seems unimportant, then leave it be. 74.129.253.192 (talk) 04:25, 27 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Just on a separate note, with regards to the ongoing Nexus storyline, it should be mentioned that WWE.com is NOT a valid source in this situation. WWE.com is used to push storyline and thus is as much a part of the ongoing work as any WWE RAW, Smackdown, or any PPV. Remember, this is the same website that reported Jeff Hardy to be found unconscious in a hotel stairwell in order to push a scenario at Survivor Series, a tactic which was found to be utterly tasteless by many media outlets who took the story literally (1, 2, 3, 4) and earned a most disgusting tactic of the year award from The Wrestling Observer. For anyone is interested in this specific news posting, it remains available on WWE.com. Just a little something to keep in mind. Sometimes, the lines are blurred. To the user posting from 74.129.253.192, I suggest reading this. Also, Wikipedia articles citing each other has always been looked down upon for the better part of the existence of this encyclopedia, and is, for all intents and purposes, outright forbidden. I suggest looking at WP:CS, WP:RS, WP:V, Irregardless, that article has itself been a battleground as I've seen it go from John Cena entirely removed, to John Cena on Smackdown, to John Cena on NXT, to John Cena as Juan Cena and everything in between. Lol, I didn't literally mean "Vote" in that sense, I meant I think it's the best thing to do. Like I said before, I think all activity, regardless of whether it be on TV or not, deserves to be put on the page. If someone is working as a heel at house shows, do you not think it should be right to post that said wrestler is currently working as a heel at house shows? Or do non-televised events not matter? No doubts at all. The only question is notability. That's why I just suggested waiting till it hit TV as typically, house show events do not carry over. Hence, they are usually disregarded (see other wrestler related articles for examples of such). Especially with regard to if a wrestler is working as a heel at house shows but as a face during televised shows. Such is generally seen as not notable and not mentioned. THIS NEVER HAPPENED

In the music section, something on the last line says Promotion for the album lead to Cena being the only professional wrestler to ever perform on BBC Two's long running Top of the Pops.[181]

The citations refers to a dead link which seems to be about 12 rounds put in some time around 2009, but i've noticed this top of the pops reference has been here since 2007. I have also checked this article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_performances_on_Top_of_the_Pops and cannot find anything. John Cena has been awarded the Chris Greicius Award from the Make-A-Wish Foundation, an award given each year to celebrities who have done the most to fulfill wishes. Title History

Unintentional Animosity

I visited the article to get a better understanding as to why Cena has such a ferverant base of detractors. Perhaps I didn't catch it, but I don't think there is anything on this. Now, to someone not familiar with pro wrestling, this might seem to be an odd concern. However, unlike 99% of pro wrestlers that are villianized, Cena has almost always been portrayed as naturally witty, athletic, strong, tough, and an all-around good guy. I would say in the past twenty years I've been watching pro wrestling, he is one of maybe three or four wrestlers that the crowd (well, roughly half of them) refuse to give a chance (anymore). I have some guesses as to why the audience is so hotly divided on this issue, but I'd like some confirmation. And because of his notibility, and the rarity of situation (his is almost always the highest selling merchandise, yet boos tend to drown out cheers when he appears), I consider this sensation of detractors to likewise be notable, and worthy of inclusion. I just don't know where it should go. Please do not confuse this idea with a fan wanting to express his views of the performer, one way or another. I agree that it's a notable point that the reactions to John Cena are divisive. CM Punk has a section relating to his gimmick, I suggest John Cena is also given one. There was a section on this article years ago named "Fan Backlash." It was a fact, and even the WWE and its personnel would admit to it on live broadcasts. The 'Personal life' portion of this page incorrectly states that Cena filed for divorce on May 10th, this is not the case. The media reported it on May 10th, but according to the divorce papers (which can be found here - http://blogs.herald.com/files/petitionfordissolutionofmarriage-1.pdf), Cena filed for divorce on May 1st.

John Cena filed for divorce on May 1st, not May 10th as the page incorrectly states. The media first reported it on May 10th, but if you look at the actual divorce papers (http://blogs.herald.com/files/petitionfordissolutionofmarriage-1.pdf), the divorce was filed on May 1st.

It feels strange to say he has "won" anything at any point. It's not a competition, it is scripted how it works, so there's no sense of victory. If he won anything, it was won during script writing, where I doubt he was present. On June 20, 2012, the Boston Globe reported that Cena has granted record breaking wish number 300 for the Make-a-Wish foundation. The Globe states that Cena has more wishes granted that athletes like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. Just a suggeestion. John would be GREAT as Casca the character from the "Casca" series by the late Green Beret author Barry Sadler. Casca was the Roman centurion who drove his spear into Jesus' side and wss doomed to live until the return of Christ. Casca has been a slave, a soldier, pirate, mercenary, etc. in every age from the time of Christ to the present. He has also had several great loves and boon companions. I don't think we can list him as Albanian. Wikipedia is user edited so that can be used especially since there is no source. The second source only states that it is possible that he is Arbereshe which is an ethic group that moved to Italy in the 1500's and took on Italian names but offers no evidence that this is the case for Cena's family. That article is also sourced to another article which does not even mention the possibility of Cena be Albanian and only mentions his Italian-American heritage meaning the site in question is adding info not in the original source and offers no evidence as to why they think Cena's family was Arbereshe. Should there not be a mention of his rather drastic polarising reception from audiences in this article? Most articles I read about him seem to mention that no other wrestler receives such a drastically opposing response from audience members and he acknowledges this himself during shows when he comes out and gets both boos and cheers. Divorce

I feel it should be included, as almost every celeb news source out there is reporting this and it is confirmed by Cena's people, he and his soon-to-be-ex-wife came to a settlement in regard to their divorce terms on June 18th of this year.

On another note, I read in several sources, unconfirmed by wwe or cena himself that he and his wife were quietly separated for over a year and a half prior to divorce filings. It is stated that he lived in the Tampa house and she was in Massachusetts. she was also reportedly asked not to make major charges while seperated (home renovations?). The Expendables 3

In the filmography section there is some debate on whether John Cena was approached to star in The Expendables 3 but according to The Expendables 2 article page in the Sequel section it says that a few people have been approached and that John Cena does not appear on the list of possible cast members, nor is it listed on the official WWE.com page. Please find sources which indicate that he is part of the movie's cast if not please remove immediately. Thank you!
