BHEL Township, Hyderabad is a suburb of Hyderabad, Telangana. This has developed like other BHEL townships after Indian public sector engineering company BHEL started its operations here. Township is well known for its greenery and lush green campus. Large numbers of quarters with full amenities. Hostels for ET's, Asst. Engineer and Artisians have good facilities. It is spread over an area of around 16 km2 and provides facilities like, parks, community halls, sports complex, grounds, library, shopping centers, banks, post offices etc. Besides, free health services is extended to all the employees and their dependents through BHEL run hospital.

Commercial area

A small market complex known as Kirthimahal comprising small groceries, a pharmacy, and restaurants provides all basic necessities of BHEL employees. Beside this, two weekly [Wednesday market and Saturday market] and one monthly [Monthend market] is organised by the company in different places of its township. State Bank of Hyderabad is only operating bank inside township.

Amenities

There are many parks, sports complex and grounds in this area which are accessible to employees and a large number of outsiders. Also there is a community center, gym, swimming pool, stadium, tennis, badminton, basketball and volleyball courts for the BHEL employees and their families. Most of the sport facilities are available. Overall its a good place with all facilities.

BHEL Hyderabad Township is very well connected through Road, Railways and Air to rest of India.

Nearest local train station to BHEL township is Lingampally, which is 3 km away from the township. Two main railway stations Hyderabad Deccan railway station and Secunderabad Junction railway station are nearly 26 km away which connects it from rest of India.

Nearest Airport is Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, which is about 40 km away from township gate.

National Highway 9passes around township boundary.The state-owned TSRTC runs the city bus service, connecting to all the major centres of the city. TSRTC connects BHEL Township to all parts of the city. The nearest bus stand to reach main BHEL check post is Lingampally. The nearest Hyderabad Metro Rail station will be at Miyapur.

Educational institutions

BHEL Township has many schools such as St Ann's, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Public School, Jyothi Vidyalaya, Vidya Bharati High School, Geetanjali School. The BVB Public School has CBSE affiliation. Science library is also available in BHEL TOWNSHIP which is having more than 10000 books and magazines for various professional and comptetive exams.
