The China Manned Space Engineering Office (CMSEO; Chinese: 中国载人航空工程办公室) provides engineering and administrative functions for the human spaceflight effort of the People's Republic of China. The CMSEO is a Beijing-based corps-level People's Liberation Army unit directly under the Equipment Development Department of the Central Military Commission (formerly People's Liberation Army General Armaments Department)[1].

According to the China Manned Space Engineering website, Yu Tongjie has succeeded Wang Zhaoyao as the director of China Manned Space Engineering Office, on 31 March 2015.[2]

Organizational structure

CMSEO is divided into eight divisions:[3]

  • astronautics
  • spacecraft development and operation
  • launch vehicle development and operation
  • launch site operations
  • telemetry
  • tracking and communications
  • landing
  • life support systems and space applications.
