Nexo Knights is an animated television series that debuted in 2015. It is based on the Lego theme of the same name.

Plot

In a medieval yet futuristic world, Clay, Aaron, Lance, Princess Macy, and Axl are five young knights who protect the kingdom of Knighton and it's capital Knightonia from Jestro, the Book of Monsters, and their army of Lava Monsters. They also receive help from the Knightonia Royal Family, the digital wizard Merlok 2.0, Robin Underwood, and Ava Prentiss.

By the third season, the Cloud of Monstrox appears following his defeat as the Book of Monsters as he once again controls Jestro into helping him obtain the 10 Forbidden Powers where the Cloud of Monstrox uses his evil lightning to animate his Stone Monsters. The two of them later ally with a sculptor named Roberto Arnoldi who helps to sculpt things out of rock for Jestro and the Book of Monsters to use.

Characters

Nexo Knights

The Nexo Knights are the defenders of Knighton. The Nexo Knights fight the forces of Jestro and the Book of Monsters. Among the members of the Nexo Knights are:

  • Clay Moorington (voiced by Giles Panton) - Clay Morrington is the Knight of Justice and leader of the Knights of Knighton. Clay is no-nonsense and lives by the Knight's code, dedicated to being the best knight he can (having dreamed of it since being a young orphan). His strictly regimented style occasionally causes him to clash with his fellow knights, particularly the more laid back Lance. His armor is blue and his crest shows a hawk (or maybe an eagle), and his signature weapon is a Claymore, which has the ability to supercharge into the "Sword of Strength". Clay rides around in the Rumble Blade, a large vehicle with two sidecars and a plane shaped like a sword that splits off into smaller vehicles. Beginning in "The Cloud," Clay drives the Falcon Fighter Blaster, a fighter jet with bladed wings. Starting in "A Little Rusty', Clay is affected by the Cloud of Monstrox dark magic which is turning him to stone after being hit by the Cloud of Monstrox's evil lightning which also knocked him into a statue causing him and Merlok 2.0 to find a successor until there can be a way to restore him to normal. The transformation is completed in "Rock Bottom" and Aaron covers for Clay until a way to restore Clay to normal can be found.
  • Aaron Fox (voiced by Alessandro Juliani) - Aaron Fox is the Knight of Bravery and one of the Knights of Knighton who enjoys thrills. His armor is green and his crest is a fox, and he employs an energy bow as his main weapon. Aaron enjoys employing his knight shield as a hover board, and often attacks from the air. Aside from his shield, his main choice of transportation is a crossbow-shaped fighter jet called the Aero-Striker V2. Upon Clay's transformation to stone, Aaron was made into the new leader for the Nexo Knights until Merlok 2.0 can find a way to restore Clay to normal.
  • Lancelot "Lance" Richmond[1] (voiced by Ian Hanlin) - Lance Richmond is one of the Knights of Knighton who doesn't always have a positive attitude towards training and usually butts heads with Clay. He is very rich and displays a spoiled personality. His armor is white and his crest is a horse. His weapon is his namesake, a lance. Outside the Fortrex, his preferred means of travel is his Mecha Steed, a robotic horse that can convert into a motorcycle. Both forms possess a larger version of Lance's trademark weapon. In "Greed is Good?," it was revealed that Lance became a knight because his parents forced to become one during his childhood instead of becoming a celebrity. In "A Little Rusty', Lance drives the Twin Jouster, that can detach its back half to become faster.
  • Princess Macy Halbert (voiced by Erin Mathews) - Princess Macy Halbert is the one of the Knights of Knighton, the only female in the team. Her parents are King and Queen Halbert where King Halbert initially disagrees with her decision to join the knights. Her armor is red and her crest shows a dragon, and she carries a power mace in battle. Macy's vehicle is the Thunder Mace, a large motorcycle with twin cannons. But in "Rock Bottom', Macy starts using a dragon-shaped vehicle called "Hotspur' that can fly, shoot fireballs, and combine with her battle suit.
  • Axl (voiced by Brian Drummond) - Axl is the Knight of Truth. He is a large man who is one of the Knights of Knighton, loves food, and is the strongman of the team. His armor is yellow and his crest is a bull, and he wields a massive battleaxe. When in need of a vehicle he boards the Tower Carrier, a truck pulling a detachable small tower.

Supporting characters

  • Robin Underwood (voiced by Erin Mathews) - Robin wants to become a Knight of Knighton and is a first-year student at the Knights Academy. His crest shows a chicken and he often employs the Fortrex's weapons during battles with the Lava Monster Army.
  • Ava Prentis (voiced by Maryke Hendrikse) - Robin's friend and the resident tech expert who supports the Knights in their battle against evil. Ava is very sensible despite her young age, and usually assists the knights from the inside of their high-tech base. She has a knack for programming and high tech inventions such as the computer sword Techcalibur which enabled her to upload Merlok 2.0 into the Fortrex.
  • Merlok 2.0 (voiced by Brian Drummond) - A digital wizard that helps the Knights defeat evil by sending them Nexo Powers. Merlok was originally a flesh-and-blood wizard who was the last wizard in the kingdom of Knighton where he was a member of the Wizards' Council. It was magic that saw the defeat of the monsters 100 years previously. When Jestro first allied with the Book of Monsters, Merlok used his magic to drive them out of the capital city. The side effect of this magic caused Merlok to be absorbed into the castle's computers as a result. Fortunately, he was soon discovered by Ava and gained the ability to digitally transmit his magic to the Knights' weapons and armor to enable them to defeat the monsters.
  • Hamletta - Lance's pet domestic pig. She lives with the knights, Ava, Robin, and Merlock 2.0 in the Fortrex. She debuted in "The Book of Total Badness". When Lance was held hostage by the Lava Monster Army, he was imprisoned in a pig pen where he met and befriended Hamletta. He kept her as a pet after the other knights freed him.
  • King Halbert (voiced by Brian Drummond) - The King of Knighton, Queen Halbert's husband, and Princess Macy's father. Despite his position, he is rather timid and inclined to panic or worry at the first sign of trouble. King Halbert loves his wife and daughter but isn't entirely comfortable with Macy being one of the knights, and wouldn't have allowed her to graduate had it not been for his queen's intervention. Despite this, he does his best to aid the knights in their efforts to protect the kingdom including allowing them to overhaul his "Ye Old Royal RV" into their Fortrex base. King Halbert also commands a large humanoid mech when the need arises for him to go into battle.
  • Queen Halbert (voiced by Nicole Oliver) - The Queen of Knighton, King Halbert's wife, and Macy's mother. Unlike her husband, Queen Halbert approves of Macy's desire to be a knight and seems much more confident in tense situations. Macy takes after her mother in terms of both appearance and fighting ability, and the queen is just as handy with a mace as her daughter.
  • Herb Herbertson - (voiced by Brian Drummond) - Knighton's resident newscaster on the Knighton News Network who recaps past events at the beginning of each new episode.
  • Robots - The Kingdom of Knighton is home to a number of robots who serve various tasks such as helping defend the kingdom or providing the knights with training partners. Some of the more notable models are:
    • Squirebots - The helpful robots who fight to defend the kingdom.
      • Claybot - The Squirebot of Clay who wields a Claymore. The Claybots can oil swords and sharpen the boots.
      • Aaron Bot - The Squirebot for Aaron who is dedicated to Aaron's safety. Ther Aaron Bot can help calculate risk and assert dangerous situations.
      • Lance Bot - Squirebots who carries a lance.
        • Dennis - A Lancebot who is Lance's personal attendant where he has taken care of Lance since he was a baby. Dennis quit working for Lance in "The Book of Total Badness," but came back at the end of "The Might and the Magic" on the condition that Lance serves him for once a week. In "Storm Over Rock Wood," Dennis quits working for Lance to join Robot Hoodlum's Merry Mechs.
      • Macy Bot - A Squirebot who was originally commissioned by King Halbert to teach Macy how to be a princess. Although it has been reprogrammed by Ava when Macy became a knight, it still has some of it's old programming left.
      • Axl Bot - A Squirebot who serves Axl in going back and forth from the kitchen to get Axl's food. It's weakness is that it tends to have a bad sense of direction.
    • Alice Squires (voiced by Nicole Oliver) - A robot newscaster who assists Herb Herbertson on the Knighton News Network (KNN).
    • Chef Eclair (voiced by Brian Drummond) - A Chefbot that cooks different meals for the inhabitants of Knightonia's castle. He is considered to be Axl's favorite robot as Chef Eclair never gets tired of cooking for the endless eater.
    • Fancypants - A Kingbot who is the personal attendant of King Halbert and Queen Halbert.
    • Robot Hoodlum - A rebel Squirebot who lives in Rock Wood Forest. As the leader of the Merry Mechs, Robot Hoodlum steals from the rich and uses their money to take car of the many forgotten and disused robots that have joined up with the Merry Mechs. Robot Hoodlum is neither bad or good as he and the Merry Mechs represent their own side. In "Storm Over Rock Wood," the Cloud of Monstrox once used his evil lightning on Robot Hoodlum so that he can steal their shields. After Robot Hoodlum was defeated, Robin repairs him and he thanks the Nexo Knights by giving Lance for his robots as Dennis joins up with the Merry Mechs. He is a parody of Robin Hood.
    • Royal Soldiers - The obedient robots that serve the Knightonia Royal Family as soldiers. The Royal Soldiers tend to prefer to stand in long ranks then be thrown into battle against he attacking monsters.
  • Jorah Tightwad (voiced by Brian Drummond) - A wealthy "gold factory" owner who is somewhat full of himself. He obtained the Book of Envy when Merlok scattered the Books of Power across the kingdom, making him desire everything. He was robbed of the Book of Envy in "The King's Tournament" by Macy who in turn lost it to Jestro's forces.
    • The Tighty Knighties - Tightwad's servants who serve as his counterparts of the Nexo Knights. Although they appear to be skilled with their weapons in tournaments, they are actually cowardly and inept at combat against Jestro and Monstrox's forces. Their names parody those of real-life celebrities.
      • Shia LaBlade - The Tighty Knighties' counterpart of Clay who wields a double-bladed sword. His name is a reference to Shia LaBeouf.
      • Jousting Bieber (voiced by Vincent Tong) - The Tighty Knighties' counterpart of Lance. His name is a reference to Justin Bieber.
      • Brickney Spears (voiced by Maryke Hendrikse) - The Tighty Knigties' counterpart of Macy who wields a modified spear. She is named after Britney Spears.
      • The Blok (voiced by Giles Panton) - The Tighty Knighties' counterpart of Axl who wields a sledgehammer. His name is a reference to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

Villains

  • Jestro (voiced by Vincent Tong) - One of the major antagonists of the series. Jestro was once the king's court jester, but was constantly laughed at due to his clumsiness and not laughed at when he was trying to be actually funny. This allowed Monstrox to persuade him to turn to evil in order to take revenge on his former mockers. After stealing one of Merlok's magic staffs and getting his magic library scattered across the wilds of Knighton, Jestro is guided by Monstrox to retrieve the other books that contain his power. Despite giving in to the Book's pressure and being exposed to the Book of Evil and gaining a monstrous appearance, Jestro harbors doubts about his villainous role before learning he was intended to become Monstrox's new body once he regained his full power. In the season 2 finale, Jestro reforms completely and helps the Nexo Knights save Clay, reverting to his original appearance upon Monstrox's apparent destruction. But in season 3, while making failed attempts to make amends to no avail, Jestro encounters the Cloud of Monstrox who uses his special evil lightning to control Jestro into helping him again.
  • Monstrox (voiced by Mark Oliver) - The main antagonist of the series. Monstrox was an evil arch-necromancer and former member of the Wizards' Council who terrorized Knighton with his monster armies and the Forbidden Powers a century ago prior to the events of the series until Merlok used his all his magic in a potent spell. The spell turned Monstrox into a sentient book of dark magic known as the Book of Monsters, containing the essence of his monster army that can be summoned from his pages. Merlok also divided Monstrox's corruptive power among in eleven spellbooks: The Book of Evil, The Book of Chaos, The Book of Fear, The Book of Anger, The Book of Deception, The Book of Destruction, The Book of Revenge, The Book of Greed, The Book of Envy, The Book of Cruelty, and The Book of Betrayal. Out of pride, Merlok did not destroy the books and housed them in his library to study them. At the start of the series, Monstrox is found by Jestro, concealing his true identity while persuading the jester to turn evil to aid him in regaining the books after Merlok sacrificed himself to scatter them across Knighton. In "The Fortrex and the Furious" after Jestro turned on him, Monstrox's true identity is revealed along with his need to possess a host body to regain human form. Monstrox originally intended to possess Jestro, but he decides to use Clay instead in "Kingdom of Heroes" where part of the ritual had Monstrox regurgitating the eleven spellbooks. Though Clay uses the Merlok 2.0-augmented Techcaliber to destroy the Book of Monsters, Monstrox survived and became a cloud-like being called the Cloud of Monstrox. Monstrox uses his lightning to corrupt Jestro again to aid him alongside the Stone Monster Army to retrieve both the cover of his old book body and his staff. Afterwards, the Cloud of Monstrox leads Jestro and the Stone Monster Army into obtaining tablets containing the Forbidden Powers and place them into pillars at the top of Mount Thunderstrox to awaken the Colossus of Ultimate Destruction to destroy Knighton.
  • Lava Monster Army - A group of fiery monsters made of lava that fight the Nexo Knights upon being summoned from the Book of Monsters by Jestro. When the members of the Lava Monster Army are defeated, they end up back in the Book of Monsters. In "Hot Rock Massage", it is revealed that the destruction of the Book of Monsters left them without a job. They wandered the kingdom until they found a Rogul containing the Forbidden Power of Blazing Burn and gained hope that they could build a town for them to live in called Burningham. After doing so, they ended up regretting the crimes they had done under the Book of Monsters' control and were no longer interested in fighting. The Nexo Knights teach them to fight again when the Stone Monster Army planned to steal the Rogul from their town. At the end of the episode, the Lava Monster Army ends up reverting back to their old ways such as fighting each other.
    • General Magmar (voiced by Garry Chalk) - A lava monster who is Jestro's chief strategist, warrior, and cook. Back when Monstrox still had a body, General Magmar served as Monstrox's right-hand man. He debuted in Season Two where he is first seen leading the Lava Monster Army into robbing from Lance's parents. In Season Three, General Magmar becomes the Mayor of Burningham and the new leader of the Lava Monster Army where he doesn't want to work for the Cloud of Monstrox again because of how the Nexo Knights defeating them constantly.
    • Sparkks - A large horned cycloptic lava monster with bat-like wings on his back who is best friends with Burnzie. Together, they make up the muscle of the Lava Monster Army. Sparkks and Burnzie are large enough to pull Jestro's Evil Mobile.
    • Burnzie - A large horned lava monster with massive teeth who is best friends with Sparkks. He and Sparkks make up the muscle of the Lava Monster Army. Burnzie and Sparkks are large enough to pull Jestro's Evil Mobile.
    • Bookkeeper - A dim-witted humanoid lava monster that carries the Book of Monsters around. It serves no other apparent function and tends to screw up. In Season Three, Bookkeeper becomes a glockenspiel performer. During this time, the Cloud of Monstrux didn't know that Bookkeeper can talk.
    • Lavaria (voiced by Nicole Oliver) - A sneaky lava monster with bat-like wings who serves as Jestro's chief spy. It is hinted in her LEGO.com description and the episode "The Golden Castle" that she was in love with Jestro and vice versa. In Season Three, Lavaria has become a yoga teacher in Burningham.
    • Beast Master (voiced by Giles Panton) - An eyepatch-wearing lava monster who specializes in ordering the other Lava Monster Army members around to do Jestro's bidding such as constructing and then propelling Jestro's Evil Mobile. He wields two chains with Globlins at the other end of them.
    • Whiparella (voiced by Kathleen Barr) - A female lava monster with a snake tail instead of legs. She carries a pair of whips that can cause anyone struck by them to have their greatest fears come to life. Jestro gained the ability to summon her after feeding the Book of Fear to the Book of Monsters which resulting in Whiparella's abilities. In Season Three, Whiparella has become a street artist in Burningham.
    • Flama - A molten lava monster with a ghostly tail who is the twin brother of Moltor. In Season Three, Flama works at the Hot Rock Cafe in Burningham.
    • Moltor - A black-skinned lava monster with rocky fists who is the twin brother of Flama. In Season Three, Moltor works at the Hot Rock Cafe in Burningham.
    • Infernox - A gigantic lava monster with a gaping maw and a huge hammer. Jestro gained the ability to summon him and various unnamed duplicates of him after feeding the Book of Destruction to the Book of Monsters. Like Sparkks and Burnzie, Infernox can also pull Jestro's Evil Mobile.
    • Globlins - A bunch of spherical lava monsters who lack limbs, but attack with their large mouths full of sharp teeth and are one of the most numerous lava monsters at Jestro's command. In the book "Lego Nexo Knights: The Book of Monsters," it is mentioned that it takes 24 Globlins to combine into a Bloblin.
      • Spider Globlins - A version of the Globlins with spider-like legs that came to be after the Book of Monsters consumed the Book of Fear that also enabled Whiparella to be summoned. The Spider Globlins are commanded by Whiparella.
    • Scurriers - A bunch of diminutive pear-shaped, goblin-like, lava monsters who are one the most numerous lava monsters at Jestro's command. He gained the ability to summon them after feeding the Book of Chaos to the Book of Monsters.
    • Ash Attackers - Armored lava monster soldiers made up of volcanic ash that wear horned helmets. Some of the Ash Attackers feature bat-like wings.
    • Crust Smashers - Hard-skinned lava monster soldiers. Jestro was able to summon them after feeding the Book of Cruelty to the Book of Monsters.
    • Flame Throwers - Lava monster soldiers in mohawks with infernal insides. Like Crust Smasher, Jestro was able to summon them after feeding the Book of Cruelty to the Book of Monsters.
  • Roberto Arnoldi (voiced by Vincent Tong) - Roberto Arnoldi is a sculptor who used to work for King Halbert and takes things very literally. One day, he was commissioned to make a "smashing" statue of Queen Halbert. When he literally made a smashing picture of Queen Halbert hammering some Scurriers and Globlins, Queen Halbert was pleased while King Halbert was displeased. After King Halbert fired him and kicked him out of Knightonia, Roberto settled in the Badlands near Mount Thunderstrox where he sold Stone Garden Gnomes that he carved in order to make money for himself. Upon meeting Jestro and the Cloud of Monstrox, Roberto sided with them in order to get revenge on Knightonia where he started by making versions of Stone Garden Gnomes that have pointy heads. Roberto later made a new mobile headquarters for Jestro and the Cloud of Monstrox after the Evil Mobile was accidentally rusted by the Rogul that was associated with the Forbidden Power of Relentless Rust. During the attack on Burningham, Roberto has sculpted a flying part of the mobile headquarters that was animated by the Cloud of Monstrox' lightning.
  • Stone Monster Army - The Stone Monster Army is a group of rock monsters that are reanimated by the Cloud of Monstrox's lightning even after being re-petrified by normal attacks. When a combo attack defeats the Stone Monsters, they are destroyed with the animating energies sucked back into the Cloud of Monstrox.
    • General Garg (voiced by Noel Johansen) - A black gargoyle-like Stone Monster that serves as the general of the Stone Monster Army. He first appeared in "Miner Setback" where he assists Jestro and the Cloud of Monstrox into abduting the people of Diggington so that they can help excavate Reex, Roog, and Rumble.

    • Ruina Stoneheart - A female statuesque Stone Monster who is the Stone Monster Army's residential witch.

      • Hilda - A Harpy.
      • Ingrid - A Harpy.
      • Bullwicker - A Harpy.
    • The Three Brothers - The Three Brothers are three terrible Granite Golems that nearly defeated the original Wizards Council only to be buried underground by them under a mountain.
      • Reex - A Stone Monster with a left eyepatch who is the younger brother of Roog and Rumble. According to legends, he was the fastest of the Three Brothers where he was able to dodge a magic bolt and is the most quick tempered.
      • Roog - A Stone Monster who is the middle brother of Reex and Rumble. He is said to be a master strategist and the smartest of the Three Brothers.
      • Rumble - The vehicle-type Stone Monster with an underbite that is the older brother of Reex and Roog and the largest of the Three Brothers. He is said to have the strength of twenty men and be immune to pain. As Rumble lost his original body in an earlier battle, his vehicle-type body was sculpted by Roberto Arnoldi where it sports a catapult that can launch smaller Stone Monsters at the Nexo Knights.
    • Rogul - A bunch of humanoid Stone Monsters with twister-like bottoms. The Roguls were made to guard the 10 different Forbidden Powers. In the episode "A Little Rusty," a Rogul that was holding a tablet containing the Forbidden Powers of Relentless Rust is awaken by the Cloud of Monstrox where the Rogul's touch can rust anything metal including metal ore in rock. In "Mount Thunderstrox," the Rogul associated with the Forbidden Powers of Relentless Rust accidentally rusted the Evil Mobile. In "Rotten Luck", a Rogul was discovered guarding the Forbidden Power of Ravaging Rot in an unnamed swamp where the petrified forms of the three Harpies resided where they are all awakened. In "Knight at the Museum," a Rogul that guards the Forbidden Power of Collapsing Crumble was on display at the Knighton Art Museum until it was awakened by the Cloud of Monstrox. In "Hot Rock Massage," the Nexo Knights claim the Rogul that contained the Forbidden Power of Blazing Burn while Beast Master posed as the Rogul to fool Jestro and the Cloud of Monstrox.

Leaving the maze with the real Book of Deception, Jestro feeds several books of the same kind to the Book of Monsters to create fake NEXO Knights. They raid and destroy the city of Bork, framing the real knights. When the real knights arrive, all the citizens shooed them off for the assault. Ava and Robin hear the news and are shocked by what they did. The Lava Monsters trick the citizens again by turning the Evil Mobile into the knights' Rolling Fortrex. When they try to raid again, a Black Knight blocks their way and defeats them with ease. King Halbert then contacts the knights and warns them that if they don't come up with any evidence that they didn't destroy the cities, he'll be shutting them down. Several times the fake knights try to attack a city, the Black Knight is there and defeats them in less than a few blows. The real knights came in afterwards in the real Fortrex and conquer over their fake selves. Soon, they come to the fact that Robin was in fact the Black Knight in disguise!

Aaron must figure out a plan to save all his friends. When Jestro was doubting his desire to destroy King Halbert, Beast Master feeds the Book of Revenge to the Book of Monsters where it increases the revenge motivation in Jestro and the Lava Monster Army. Meanwhile, Macy has a flashback, saying that she wanted to become a knight, not being a princess all the time. Soon, she admitted to herself that she was not ready to be a knight, but was cut off by Aaron, who used his energy bow to cut the chain off of her, and retained her shield and mace back. The two then rescued Clay, who was chained on a target, getting spun around all the time. After him, they saved Axl by giving him a chain of sausages to climb up, but were unsuccessful the first time, and the second time, they succeeded. Finally, they rescue Lance, who was stuck in an animal farm, making a new friend, called Hamletta, a pig. Jestro, who was so close to victory, was stopped by the knights, and the rest of the knights and Clay, got their NEXO Power, and as the blue knight got one that was last done ages ago. When Clay got the new NEXO Power, one smash of his sword and all the monsters turned to purple dust, and he slammed his sword down again, and sent Jestro all the way out of the kingdom of Knightonia. Near the end, King Halbert apologizes to Macy, and he proclaims her an official NEXO Knight. Lance then gets Dennis back on one condition: Lance has to be Dennis' servant once a week.

The Nexo Knights return to the Knights Academy partly to get re-educated under the headmaster Sir Bricklyn and partly because Jestro and the Book of Monsters are after another spellbook that is located there. The education does not go easily for the Nexo Knights, they leap at the opportunity when Jestro and the Book of Monsters unleash the Lava Monsters on the Knights Academy. Although the Nexo Knights were successful at preventing Jestro and the Book of Monsters from stealing the spellbook, Jestro managed to steal a snowglobe that Merlok gave to Sir Brickly for safekeeping. When Jestro breaks the snow globe, it turned out to contain a monster castle that Merlok had shrunk and sealed away many years ago.

The Nexo Knights attend the Gold is Good Ball hosted by Lance's parents in the extremely wealthy town of Arrindale. Unfortunately, Jestro feeds the Book of Greed to the Book of Monsters to make the Lava Monster Army (who are now led by the newly-summoned General Magmar) so greedy, that they steal all of The Richmond's riches (much to Lance's sorrow) along with both of Lance's parents. However, Lance is not as willing to save his parents as they forced him to become a knight in his childhood while Lance wanted to be a celebrity. Meanwhile, Lance's parents believe that Jestro's Lava Monster Army are servants at a spa and as such are completely oblivious of their imprisonment much to the annoyance of the Book of Monsters and General Magmar. This makes Jestro more than willing to return them and the stolen riches to Arrindale.

The Book of Monsters plans to consume a limited edition copy of a Ned Knightley comic book, which will guarded by the Nexo Knights until it is won at a costume contest at Knight-A-Con (this show's parody of the San Diego Comic Con). Robin is also attending the convention using his newly designed Mini-trex (a miniature version of the Fortrex). When General Magmar gets impatient with Jestro's plan to blend in with the attendees, he launches an all out attack on Knight-A-Con which causes the comic book to get lost in a crowd of terrorized attendees. Fortunately, the Mini-trex is able to extend the range of the Nexo Knights' connection to Merlok 2.0, allowing them to obtain their Nexo Powers and find the book. Because of this, Robin wins first prize at the costume contest and thus, he and the Nexo Knights get to keep the comic.

On King Halbert's birthday, Jorah Tightwad decides to prove that the Tighty Knighties are better than the Nexo Knights at King Halbert's birthday tournament, using the Book of Envy as proof that they encountered Jestro. If the Tighty Knighties win, Macy has to kiss Tightwad. If they lose, Jorah has to kiss Lance's "sweetheart." The next day, the tournament is held to see who are the best group of knights in Knightonia. All four Tighty Knighties best the Nexo Knights in the tournament except Macy who is forced to be her father's princess for the day and thus is forbidden to compete. Before King Halbert can announce the end of the tournament, Jestro and the Book of Monsters lead the Lava Monster Army into attacking the birthday tournament. The Tighty Knighties are then shown being completely useless at fighting them and cowering in fear. At that moment, Tightwad reveals the truth of how he obtained the Book of Envy where it fell into his hands when Merlok scattered the evil spell books in the first episode. This distracts him long enough for Macy to take the book from him. After powering up and defeating the Lava Monster Army, the Nexo Knights are declared the true winners of the tournament while Tightwad is forced to kiss Lance's "sweetheart" on the lips. This turns out to be Hamletta much to Tightwad's horror. King Halbert is proud of what Macy did today, saying there's a time for her to be a princess and a time for when she needs to be a knight. Meanwhile, Jestro and the Book of Monsters have succeeded in stealing the Book of Envy which is soon consumed by the Book of Monsters.

Knowing this, Clay has Axl and Chef Eclair compete in a cook off with the grand prize being the one cookbook which contains Rambly's chili recipe. When Jestro sends Moltor and Lavaria undercover to compete in the same contest, Eclair has the Nexo Knights seek a pepper so spicy, it explodes if mishandled. Meanwhile, Lance and Aaron hold their own contest to determine which of them is the most resistant to spicy peppers. Despite Jestro's efforts, the Nexo Knights succeed in getting the pepper they need and use it to win the cook off. But unfortunately, their chili ends up being so spicy, it burns the grand prize to oblivion once it was spilled.

Meanwhile, the Nexo Knights are having fun. Problems arises because they started neglecting their daily duties and they rush to retrieve Clay. Despite his efforts, Clay is captured by Jestro and the Book of Cruelty is fed to the Book of Monsters which gives the Book of Monsters the ability to summon the Lava Monsters Crust Smasher and Flame Thrower. During a dinner party that the Nexo Knights attend in the town of Cleanington, the Book of Monsters goes to Snottingham (the coldest place in all of Knigton) to consume the literally sickening Snotheiser which makes him and the Lava Monsters he summons very unhealthy. When the Nexo Knights rush to stop the attack on Snottingham, the Lava Monsters sneeze all over them causing them to wake up the next day with the Snottingham Flu (a version of the flu that causes bizarre effects on the victim in addition to usual flu symptoms) causing Clay to hallucinate, Macy to experience severe pins and needles, Aaron to become dizzy and uncoordinated, and Axl to be robbed of his hunger and appetite while the Book of Monsters makes a full recovery. Just before Jestro and the Book of Monsters are able to kidnap King and Queen Halbert, Merlok and Ava send a Nexo Power with an antivirus system added to it which cures the knights of their sickness and allows them to defeat Jestro and the Book of Monsters.

Inspired by Jestro's idol Jokes Knightley, Jestro and the Book of Monsters attend a gig in the village of Funnyton where they pose as comedians. The Nexo Knights also attend and to their surprise, they actually find Jestro hilarious, even attempting to convince Jestro to change his evil ways. However, Jokes Knightley kidnaps the Book of Monsters in order to steal Jestro's act, courtesy of the last evil spellbook called the Book of Betrayal. When the Nexo Knights find the Book of Monsters, it becomes a mad battle for the Book of Betrayal which eventually falls into the hands of Jestro. Not knowing what to do, Jestro runs into the woods and hands the Book of Betrayal to an unseen individual. Evil laughter is soon heard afterwards.

Recapping from the previous episode, the figure who Jestro gave the Book of Betrayal to is revealed to be Clay, who takes Jestro to the Fortrex. When the Book of Monsters attempts to gain the Book of Betrayal and Jestro, the Nexo Knights split up as a diversion until Clay is cornered. Now fully reformed, Jestro sacrifices himself so Clay can escape with the Book of Betrayal. The Nexo Knights then stage a rescue mission to save Jestro from the volcano lair where the Book of Monsters reveals that he is actually the dark necromancer Monstrox, whom Merlok turned into a book and divided his power among eleven other spellbooks. Monstrox adds that he needs Jestro as a host body to regain human form through a ritual in the "Dark Arena", waiting for the Book of Betrayal to corrupt the Nexo Knights. Unfortunately, Clay appeared to have succumbed to its power and begins to bring the Book of Betrayal to Monstrox.
2010"Kingdom of Heroes"Mark HoffmeierTBAOctober 22, 2016 (2016-10-22)0.61[22]
Recapping from the previous episode, Clay hands The Book of Betrayal not because he was corrupted, but to exchange it for Jestro's freedom. Monstrox makes the deal and frees Jestro, but chains Clay in his place to take his body for his own. As part of the ritual, Monstrox regurgitates the evil spellbooks. Meanwhile, the other Knights follow Clay to the Book of Monsters' lair, but are overwhelmed by the Lava Monster Army and reluctantly follow Jestro through the death trap-filled backdoor entrance. Upon reaching Clay, the Book of Monsters nearly completes the ceremony, but Jestro and the Nexo Knights hold him off long enough for Robin to hand Clay Merlok and Techcaliber, which Clay feeds to Monstrox. Overwhelmed by Merlok 2.0's power, Monstrox explodes into energy, destroying his book body while curing Jestro of the Book of Evil's effects. Merlok 2.0 is presumably destroyed as well, but when Robin replaces Techcaliber's motherboard, Merlok 2.0 is revealed to have survived. With Jestro also having been forgiven for his actions and reinstated as court jester, the Nexo Knights celebrate their victory with the rest of the kingdom. When Jestro looks at the sky, he sees Monstrox's face implying the necromancer's survival as a spirit.

It has been months since the destruction of the Book of Monsters. The knights have made lives for themselves. Clay is a teacher at Knighton Academy, Lance is a host for the Knighton News Network, Aaron is a stunt performer and Axl is a TV chef. On Princess Macy's part, she has been unsuccessful at getting each of the towns to be more defensive from future monster attacks. But all is not well. A storm is brewing over Knighton as Jestro tries to make amends with the people he has wronged to no avail. Monstrox has taken the form of a storm cloud and once again takes control of Jestro by zapping him with his evil lightning. Arriving at a fortress in Ghoulia, the Cloud of Monstrox raises an army of lightning-infused Stone Monsters. His first target is the new Lavalands Amusement Center that was established by Mr. Richmond on the property of the Lava Monster Army's former base. When Lance is overwhelmed by the Stone Monster Army, Merlok summons the rest of the knights. Meanwhile, Jestro and the Cloud of Monstrox go under the amusement park. When Jestro finds Monstrox' former Book of Monsters body, the Cloud of Monstrox tells him to hold onto it as he has grown attached to it. Jestro then uncover the staff that Monstrox used before he was split into different spellbooks.

Recapping from the previous episode, the Nexo Knights arrive to assist Lance and return to their duties as knights. However, now that Jestro and the Cloud of Monstrox have the Staff of Monstrox, they head to the Iron Mountains where the Cloud of Monstrox awakens a Rogul that held a tablet containing the Forbidden Power of Relentless Rust (which rusts any metal that it touches). During the Stone Monster Army's attack on Armourville, the Rogul starts rusting every armors it comes in contact with while the Cloud of Monstrox reanimates the statues there. The Knights arrive, but their armour and the Fortrex's treads are rusted by the Rogul, with Clay's hand briefly turning to stone when he falls victim to the Forbidden Power. Luckily, Merlok has devised a way for the Nexo Knights to combine Nexo Powers, a strategy which makes them powerful enough to destroy the stone monsters and send them into the Cloud of Monstrux. After the retreat of Jestro and Monstrux, Robin gives the Nexo Knights new armour meant to be resistant to all of the Forbidden Powers. During a training session, Clay privately confides to Merlok that his fighting skills seem to be deteriorating. When Merlok scans him, he realizes Clay has been cursed with dark, ancient magic and advises not to tell the others.

The director Jurge allows Lance to bring a special camera onto the Fortrex as part of his reality holovision show about the Nexo Knights. Meanwhile in the Badlands, Jestro and the Cloud of Monstrox meet King Halbert's former sculpture Roberto Arnaldi where he works to carve Stone Garden Gnomes to help build the Stone Monster Army. Merlok 2.0 mentioned how Monstrox mastered the different Forbidden Powers and how he had to defeat him and seal away the Forbidden Powers in each of the Stone Guardians throughout Knighton. Upon Jestro emptying the Forbidden Power of Relentless Rust into one of the pillars on top of Mount Thunderstrox, the Cloud of Monsters helps Jestro into telling some of the Gargoyles to remain behind to guard it. Upon reanimating the Stone Garden Gnomes with Roberto siding with them, Jestro and the Cloud of Monstrox lead the Stone Monster Army into the nearest town. During the battle, Merlok 2.0 has a hard time deciding on a combo to give to three of the Nexo Knights causing the group to move fast enough to keep the Cloud of Monstrox from reanimating them. They even trick the rust-inducing Rogul into striking the Evil Mobile since it has some metal features in it. Upon Jestro, the Cloud of Monstrox, Roberto, and the Stone Monster Army getting away, the Nexo Knights capture one of the Stone Garden Gnomes in order to figure out how the Cloud of Monstrox's lightning works. Clay tells Merlok 2.0 that his "illness" is getting worse and that a replacement must be found before the final parts of it occur.

Jestro and the Cloud of Monstrox enter a swamp where the Forbidden Power of Ravaging Rot was hidden in addition to reanimating the petrified forms of the three Harpies Hilda, Ingrid, and Bullwicker. Jestro instructs Roberto to build a new mobile headquarters for the Stone Monster Army after what happened to the Evil Mobile. Meanwhile, the Knights find out about Clay's "illness" and begin growing concerns. With their new Forbidden Power and the Rogul associated with it, Jestro and the Cloud of Monstrox begin rotting all the food and wood they can find much to Axl's dismay. The Nexo Knights (sans Clay) corner Jestro over a wooden bridge while Ava is still having issues with calibrating a suitable Combo-Power. Just as Jestro uses the Forbidden Power to rot the bridge, Clay arrives in a new exo-suit designed by Robin to save them and turn the tide of the battle while Jestro's forces retreat in a new mobile headquarters designed by Roberto Arnoldi. Afterwards, Jestro and Monstrox return to Mount Thunderstrox where they proceed to transfer the Forbidden Power of Ravaging Rot into another one of the pillars.
255"Storm Over Rock Wood"UnknownTBAMarch 4, 2017 (2017-03-04)0.77[28]
When several recent robberies in the forest of Rock Wood committed by the bandit Robot Hoodlum (who steals from the rich to give to poor neglected Squirebots) feature the Cloud of Monstrox in the background with the latest one being on Jorah Tightwad and the Tighty Knighties, the Knights believe that they are working together. And it turns out they are right. Jestro and the Cloud of Monstrox arrive in Rockwood Forest to get help from Robot Hoodlum. When Hoodlum refuses to cooperate, the Cloud of Monstrox uses his lightning to rewire his programming so that he steals the Nexo Knights shields much to the dismay of Hoodlum's biggest fan Dennis. The Knights enter Rockwood and with Dennis' help, they find the camp where Robot Hoodlum aids the neglected Squirebots.....and Jestro. Knowing that the knights are vulnerable, the Cloud of Monstrox animates every Grimroc in Rock Wood Forest that was previously turned to stone by Merlok back when they served Monstrox. However, since Clay is still in his exo-suit, he is able to acquire a combo power for himself that he uses to defeat most of the Grimrocs while the remaining Grimrocs retreat with Jestro and the Cloud of Monstrox. The Nexo Knights get their shields back. Robin repairs Robot Hoodlum and his Merry Mechs. Inspired by Clay's skills with the Combo Power, Robin builds exo-suits for the rest of the Nexo Knights. However, Clay continues to turn to stone and knows that a successor will soon be needed. After Robot Hoodlum gives Lance four robots to be his servants (each of which Lance names after Dennis), the original Dennis joins Hoodlum's Merry Mechs.

Axlina summons Axl and the Nexo Knights when people in Diggington begin disappearing including Axl's parents. As it turns out, they are being kidnapped by General Garg and the Stone Monsters with him so that Jestro and the Cloud of Monstrox can use them to unearth the Three Brothers Roog, Reex, and Rumble whose petrified remains were hidden by the Wizards Council. The Nexo Knights use Aaron to spy on the Stone Army and quickly jump into action in their battle suits with Merlok 2.0 using the Fortrex to keep the Cloud of Monstrox out the mine. Unfortunately, the Three Brothers are all unearthed with Roberto giving Rumble's disembodied head a car-like body and prove to be a match for the knights and the tunnel walls block the signal for the Nexo Knights. However, the camera Lance used to film Jurge's reality show is able to extend the signal and the Nexo Knights power up. The Cloud Monstrox was able to sneak in to the mine through a canyon. Unfortunately for him, the walls absorbed most of his moisture, reducing him in size and forcing the Stone Monster Army to retreat. The enslaved miners including Axl's parents are freed and the Cloud of Monstrux is forced to briefly use his book cover as a body until he accumulates enough moisture. Meanwhile, Clay continues to petrify and has already begun talking to his successor who is obscured from the viewer.

King Halbert is hosting an event at the Knighton Art Museum and the Nexo Knights are guarding. However, Roberto Arnoldi's response to his artwork in the museum being treated as coat racks by the curator Edward Evanston blows their cover forcing the Cloud of Monstrox to bring every sculpture in the Museum to life including the Rogul. Out of fear, King Halbert puts the museum on lock down, binding the museum in an indestructible metal plating which keeps the Cloud of Monstrox and the Stone Monster Army out, but leaves the Nexo Knights, King Halbert, Queen Halbert, and Edward Evanston trapped inside with the sculptures and Rogul with no way to acquire Nexo Powers. However, Ava hacks the security measures to shut down the lock down leaving only the stone walls to keep the building standing. After Jestro is given the Forbidden Power of Collapsing Crumble, he uses it to literally bring down the house and escape with the Forbidden Power of Collapsing Crumble. Luckily, everyone makes it out the museum alive, but half of Clay's body has already petrified. Meanwhile, Jestro and the Cloud of Monstrox add the Forbidden Power of Collapsing Crumble to the pillars on Mount Thunderstrox while Clay continues to give advice to his unseen successor.

Jestro and the Cloud of Monstrox lead the Stone Monster Army to the town of Burnington to find the Rogul that is associated with the Forbidden Power of Blazing Burn. To the Cloud of Monstrox's surprise, the inhabitants are all members of the Lava Monster Army who were left without a job after the destruction of their former base and found the Rogul, gaining hope that they could build a town around it. General Magmar is the mayor, Lavaria is a yoga teacher, Whiparella is a street artists, Bookkeeper is a glockenspiel performer, and Flama and Moltor work at the Hot Rock Cafe. The Cloud of Monstrox' attempt to get Sparkks and Burnzie to give him the Rogul fails when General Magmar identifies him and doesn't want to work for him again. Upon being blown out of the village by Whiparella and telling this to Jestro, the Cloud of Monstrox asks why he didn't use his evil lightning on them. The Cloud of Monstrox stated that he didn't think it would be needed. When the Nexo Knights find out about this, they go to Burnington. The Lava Monsters, who have become pacifists as payment for their crimes, are taught how to fight again to protect their town from the Stone Monster Army. Roberto Arnoldi sculpts a flying part of the mobile headquarters for Jestro and the Cloud of Monstrox to use upon being inspired by the two of them calling each other an airhead. Although Jestro seems to have succeeded in stealing the Rogul, it was actually Beast Master being used as a decoy as Beast Master escapes. The real Rogul was taken to the Fortrex so that the Nexo Knights could study what makes the Forbidden Powers tick. Ava figures that the information that Merlok 2.0 is looking for is in the Knighton Castle Library. As Clay and Merlok 2.0 continue to talk to the unidentified successor, the Lava Monsters are shown celebrating their victory as they begin to spar with one another.

The Forbidden Power of Blazing Burn is transferred into another one of the pillars atop Mount Thunderstrox. Drawing power from the four Forbidden Powers they collected, the Cloud of Monstrox grows to massive proportions and reveals why they are collecting Forbidden Powers. The pillars happen to be atop the head of the now-petrified Colossus of Ultimate Destruction which will awaken and lay waste to Knighton once all 10 Forbidden Powers are collected. Back in the Fortrex, Clay's successor is revealed to be Aaron who will lead the Nexo Knights until a cure for Clay has been found. The Nexo Knights find the Stone Monster Army attempting to attack the city of Knighton. King Halbert, Queen Halbert, the Royal Guards, Sir Bricklyn, and the students at the Knights Academy work to defend Knighton from the Stone Monster Army. The Cloud of Monstrox plans to use his augmented lightning to fry every server in the Knighton Library Tower, thus wiping Merlok 2.0 (and therefore the Nexo Powers and all of his memories) out of existence. At the same time, Roberto Arnold works on carving something on a stone tablet. As the Nexo Knight approach Knighton, they fight their way passed the reanimated Grimrocs with the help of Dennis and Robot Hoodlum's Merry Mechs. The Nexo Knights arrive where they find King Halbert fighting the reanimated giant statues of the previous Knighton kings. At the s. Robin uses the Minitrex to link Merlok 2.0 to the servers so they can download the backup for his memories before the Cloud of Monstrox erases it. Unfortunately, while Merlok 2.0 is providing Aaron's battle suit with a Combo Power to defeat the Cloud of Monstrox, a bolt from the Cloud of Monstrox seemingly destroys him, but Aaron uses the Combo Power to send the Cloud of Monstrox back into his harmless book body. The Stone Monster Army returns to Mount Thunderstrox, believing themselves to be victorious. It is soon revealed that the Minitrex kept Merlok 2.0 alive and intact. Ava works to rebuilt Merlok 2.0' systems in order to get him operational again. During this time, Robin in the Black Knight mech soon uncovers a carving on a stone tablet dropped by Roberto Arnoldi during the fight which describes the Cloud of Monstrox's plan to awaken the Colossus of Ultimate Destruction.
