Minor updates

[edit]

Added some discussion noted in Adam-Smiths Book. It seems that there is more to the story than I first thought, although validating some of her claims may be a little hard, as her work is not well referenced. Some of her comments are consistent with other stories and sources. Anyways, it adds more controversy to Bob! Sulzer55 (talk) 10:45, 25 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

More tweaks

[edit]

Have added more information in relation to Bob, including some discussion in an article by Parker. This article raises further questions regards Bobs life and carreer. Also found a number of other refs to Bob, so will find some time to research these. Does anyone know of Bob the Firemans Dog? Sulzer55 (talk) 12:01, 26 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Major overhaul

[edit]

Have made a number of changes to the page to align with contemporaneous reporting of Bob. It seems that papers pinching stories is not new. The other thing that is apparent is embelishment - Bob apparently was in Melbourne before Seth Ferry Picked him up@! - so was he BTRD then, or is it a title he has earned after Ferry got him and registered him in 1884? So, have done my best to pull together the various articles, read through the spin, and come up with something reasonable.

Any comments? Sulzer55 (talk) 07:39, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Railway dog trail

[edit]

on a recent visit to Terowie, noted the locals have put up some boards around the town and created the "Bob the railway dog trail" - did not get pics, but will do so when next there Sulzer55 (talk) 11:49, 24 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks- has made a big difference Sulzer55 (talk) 12:19, 26 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. This is the kind of an article on a relatively obscure subject that Wikipedia can do really well, and which is unlikely to exist in other encyclopedias, etc. the continuing media coverage suggests it has some relevance, at least in some parts of the world. 7&6=thirteen () 12:27, 26 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
