Wellpet Recall, March 2011[edit]

Some cans of Wellness canned catfood recalled due to possible low amounts of thiamine: http://www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/ucm245108.htm --EricE (talk) 03:02, 4 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This article seems like nothing more than an advertisement. 67.149.204.233 00:21, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah. It might be true but it reads like ad-copy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.92.121.1 (talkcontribs) 15:34, 5 April 2007
It is definitely ad copy, if you go to their web site on the history of the company section you can see where paragraphs were pulled right from their web site. However I do agree with what it says, I use this pet food and I really like it and think it is a great healthy foor for animals. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.109.229.8 (talkcontribs) 16:10, 5 April 2007

Fair use rationale for Image:Old Mother Hubbard product.png[edit]

Image:Old Mother Hubbard product.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Doesn't seem appropriate. I removed it, for now. ▫ JohnnyMrNinja 05:41, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why is this page on wikipedia?[edit]

This article is simply a business and therefore is apparently a thinly disguised business promotion. Dougmac7 (talk) 04:22, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

So people can look up the history of the brand, such as recalls. There's also no rules on what can have an articl, there are many simple businesses that have pages here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.17.134.7 (talk) 04:55, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Links to use[edit]

Not sure how to use these yet. ▫ JohnnyMrNinja 05:41, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Also, I'm having a hell of a time finding sourcing for the manufacturing facilities... I know Eagle foods are made at their plant, Wellness is made at Diamond, and both cans are made at Menu Foods (or whatever the plant is called these days, as some changed hands/names after the recall). It is impossible to find reliable sourcing on this, as the pet trade doesn't have very consistent media coverage, and the company is pretty tight-lipped on this topic. Any help in this regard would be appreciated. ▫ JohnnyMrNinja 20:08, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File:Old Mother Hubbard product.png Nominated for speedy Deletion[edit]

An image used in this article, File:Old Mother Hubbard product.png, has been nominated for speedy deletion for the following reason: Wikipedia files with no non-free use rationale as of 3 December 2011

What should I do?

Don't panic; you should have time to contest the deletion (although please review deletion guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to provide a fair use rationale
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale, then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Deletion Review

Wellness section uses nothing but connected sources[edit]

I'm finding this article more than usually uninformative. It really should be flagged for its use of promotional sources. Every link I've hit so far has led directly to the company website. There's no way even to tell if Wellness was a separate company, absorbed into the parent, or whether it is a newly launched product. And when did WellPet change its name?Literaturegirl (talk) 14:46, 27 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed on the potential flag ... Quick, Spot the Quetzalcoatl! (talk) 03:12, 19 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not done for now: "Mentions" to Berwind seem unlikely, as this is simply historical fact. Would be willing to review anything your write up regarding the Clearlake purchase if you submit another request, though. PK650 (talk) 09:06, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yup, can't remove what's actually sourced here. What about replacing the primary sources with something better though? Quick, Spot the Quetzalcoatl! (talk) 03:10, 19 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Company tagline[edit]

  • What I think should be changed: The company has a new tagline. The page should be updated to read that Wellness Pet Company's tagline is "We exist to nourish life shared with pets" and "Enjoying a lifetime of wellbeing with other pet lovers like you"
  • Why it should be changed: The company has new messaging on its website since the name was changed to Wellness Pet Company in early 2022.
  • References supporting the possible change (format using the "cite" button): https://www.wellnesspet.com/

Not done for now: Couldn't find reliable sourcing (mostly press releases out there) about the brand, therefore I think it may not be notable enough for inclusion. PK650 (talk) 09:10, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I found a handful, but I agree, nothing much here. Quick, Spot the Quetzalcoatl! (talk) 03:07, 19 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
