PRONTO Corporation (プロントコーポレーション) is a franchise that operates a chain of coffee shops, bars, and restaurants in Asia. It also provides some management consulting services. Established in 1988, as of December 2022 it was operating about 300 coffee shops and restaurants mainly in Japan, with a few branches in China, Singapore, and Taiwan.[1] [2]

Corporate History

[edit]

With financial backing from Suntory and UCC Ueshima Coffee, this franchise began in 1988 in the Ginza section of Tokyo.[3] In 1995 this company changed its name from "Bless Inc." to its current name. The company began developing a business model in which facilities served as cafes by day, then bars by night. In 2000 PRONT began launched another franchise known as Caffè Solare that serves meals and beverages. One year after that the company adopted a new logo featuring a sun and moon. In recent years the company has been expanding in Shanghai, Singapore, and Taiwan. [4][5]

Currently, PRONTO operates three businesses: Caffè Solare (which serves a number of desserts and pasta dishes as well as coffee and tea), È PRONTO (which offers a variety of foods and drinks during the day, then beer and lemonade sours in the evening), and Di PUNTO (which is a wine-bar serving a range of Italian food as well as Suntory Premium Malt beer.)
