"That's why the people in authority are so freaked out about the Internet, not because of the smut but because NO authority can stand up to access to information."

"What is wanted is not the will to believe, but the will to find out, which is the exact opposite."
Hi. I'm Joel. I'll just describe myself solely as an editor over here, to show that my intentions are clear and I don't want to appear too 'mysterious' to everybody; at the same time, I agree when many discourage wasting time to decorate and make a fancy userpage (only some simple collapsible tables and boxes here), also a little against adding personal details, views and beliefs since that makes a user likely to be judged or stereotyped and may even discourage fellow editors from contacting them. I hope I stay here for as long as possible.
I work on mainly India-related articles with the exception of the film and sports area. Besides the lack of time I can devote here, in general, I find it hard to focus on one article as always some other one with more problems pops up. I aspire to someday do serious research and work on an important topic probably within this national scope, which are often in bad condition.
For tireless contributions to the STiki project especially awarding milestones to users every single day! Great work! Cheers, ƬheStrikeΣagle 16:14, 10 September 2016 (UTC)

The Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
*pulls out checklist* Okay then. Let's see - has user reverted vandalism? Check. Has user been active recently? Check. Have I run into this user while doing my rounds? Check. *yawns* Man, checklists are so boring. Is user a rollbacker? Check. Is user a reviewer? Check. Do vandals hate this user? I guess... check. Has user been threatened/insulted by vandals? Check. *checks cell phone impatiently* Is user awesome? Check. (maybe?) Does user have a talk page *oh man this checklist is lame* Does user really deserve a barnstar? Check. Are you really, really sure? Oh forget it! *rips checklist into shreds* Here's your barnstar. That took longer than expected... K6ka (talk | contribs) 05:10, 15 February 2014 (UTC)

Wikipedia has always influenced and fascinated me, it developed my strong interest to know more; it also showed me how everything can be looked at objectively. I remember getting into the habit of wikiing any controversial topic just to get the whole picture. Information is a powerful weapon; what makes the internet so brilliant is the free sharing of it. Wikipedia has taken the initiative to push it further, by being the largest collection of free information. Of course it doesn't stop here and that's exactly what makes it invaluable. When I had just joined here, I'll admit that I wanted to do something related to righting the great wrongs; soon I realised that there was so much more than that and it got me interested in helping out. I decided to repay the favour by joining in building and maintaining the Encyclopaedia. I do lack expertise in any special field but offer my humble service. —originally written on 11:50, 14 June 2013.
