Comments on source of this vandal page
[edit]- Not sure where to find the 'shared IP' template on Wikipedia (I normally use Wikibooks as a logged in user) but I should add that I believe this IP address is shared by some 200 to 1000 users at Oundle School, Northamptonshire, UK.--88.215.47.226 (talk) 14:04, 14 July 2013 (UTC)

Who the hell cares where this IP comes from?? However, it is now clear that it's from a high-class public school in England which seems to contain a group of vandals. They need to be BLOCKED and I have requested this from Admins. Viva-Verdi (talk) 00:50, 15 July 2013 (UTC)
- I added the above message about the need for the template. Templates are used to make people aware that an unusually high amount of vandalism is probably not the result of one person but of a several. The IP address is used by students, teachers, staff, summer school staff and other groups. Looking at the warning messages it hardly seems that big a problem with only a few warnings per month. Maybe Wikipedia should use more tools to stop and discourage vandalism rather than blocking 500 users because of one or 2 persistant vandals?--88.215.47.226 (talk) 06:47, 18 July 2013 (UTC)
The solution is very simple: people can register with an email address and create individual accounts. Clearly, 88.215.47.226, you are not aware of the amount vandalism going on these days. Viva-Verdi (talk) 13:57, 18 July 2013 (UTC)

- Well, it might have been "good faith", but it turned the sentence into a meaningless one when you added (bf letters): "The 1930 FIFA World Cup The first goal was scored by James Gaby was the inaugural FIFA World Cup, the world championship for men's national association football teams"
- Was this vandalism? It's very, very close.... Text is just plonked into the middle of a sentence, and I've no idea who James Gaby is/was. One more like this and I shall invoke intervention by a moderator. Viva-Verdi (talk) 22:03, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Galebazz. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Cecil Arthur Lewis, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Galebazz (talk) 09:09, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
