Harpsund
The things I wrote on the Harpsund article was not vandalism, not even subtle vandalism. The story is true and relevant, don't change things that you don't know about. Just wanted to let you know, peace and have a great day :)The Illusional Ministry (talk) 11:35, 31 March 2008 (UTC).
Vandalism
Be careful who and what you call vandalism. As you are a new user, you should not use the term until you are familiar with it. I just merged the four articles together per longtime discussion. Blanking the talk page was the next step, and it is not vandalism. Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 08:10, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your clarification on my talk page. I didn't mean to be rude earlier, and I was wrong to assume your edits were vandalism; however, it's difficult to distinguish this unless you cite sources, since verifiability is one of the core guidelines of Wikipedia and blanking of pages is generally frowned on. Regards, Alexius08 (talk) 08:30, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you for your apology. I should have left an edit summary of why I was doing what I did. I did on the article itself, but not the talkpage. Keep up the watchful eye, we need folks to watch out for real vandals. You have a good day! Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 08:33, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

You tagged this article with {{notenglish}}. Why? It is obviously English, even if it is not written well. The article may very well be deleted, but for other reasons. The {{notenglish}} tag is used for articles that are totally or partially written in another language, not for articles that need copyediting or other editorial attention. Cbdorsett (talk) 04:29, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
- No big deal. We all make mistakes. By the way, I looked at your edit history and saw that you have made some very useful contributions, particularly in fighting vandalism. Thanks. I noticed that you have been leaving welcome messages and warning templates on user talk pages. You will want to use the subst: template substitution command on these. Don't worry about going back and subst'ing your old warnings as there is a bot that goes around and subst all the appropriate templates, but future warnings and welcomes should be left with a subst:. =) -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 08:16, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi Alexius, sorry to bother you, but I just noticed the diff above. To me, it seems rather angry and might violate WP:CIVIL. Also, it seems the edit the IP address made seems to me not racially motivated; it simply removed a statement (which, agreed, is cited and should be in the article) saying that Iraq was responsible for the seige, which doesn't seem like "anti-Iraqi sentiment" to me. Furthermore, posting a "final warning" (which assumes bad faith) to the IP's talk page is sort of overkill. Having the edit summary in ALL CAPS (the wiki equivalent of shouting loudly) might sound a little scary to a new user and could potentially drive off a contributor. No need to get worked up - just warn the user and move on. From a fellow XP user, GlobeGores (talk page | user page) 00:56, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Please don't remove other people's comments (though they are exeptions), if you think that the user should be warned with a higher level, just add it after the precceding warning. You shouldn't use agressive edit summaries, even if the user you're refering acts like a "vandal", it's uncivil. Finally, a 4im coupled with an agressive edit summary is likely to encourage the user to keep vandalizing, which we don't want. CenariumTalk 15:53, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
Hello, Maybe the Reason for My Edit Was Not Too Obvious...
Hello, Alex. I see that you're new to Wikipedia. Perhaps I should convey a few lines as per this edit which you undone, which I've already reversed.
Wikipedia is not a game guide where you can see spoilers and things like that. Look at the article in question. How does it help make the article a better one? As far as I can see, it doesn't at all. The space it takes up on Wikipedia can be put to better use. If any one wants to have some kind of spoiler, they can either search for such spoilers on the Internet or go out and buy some real game guides. They should not be posting or viewing such material on Wikipedia.
On an unrelated note, are you on Recent Changes patrol? Your edits are pretty random to me (which I usually take to mean that the editor in question patrols Recent Changes). I like your edit summaries, but keep in mind about WP:CIVIL WP:DENY. I did this some time back and got a little warning as a result. -- Altiris Helios Exeunt 23:43, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

Inappropriate speedy tag on User:Paul Gard/Hoodong
Hello. I declined your speedy deletion tagging of User:Paul Gard/Hoodong under CSD G11 because it is a userspace draft. Users are free to work on prospective articles in their userspace at their own pace, and prepare them before sending them into the mainspace. Unless the page in question truly constitutes something that would be deletable under the speedy deletion criteria (attack page, pure advertising, etc.), then deletion is not appropriate. I was just examining the edits that you reverted as vandalism. I believe Walter made those himself. And while it's a problem that he's written his own unsourced bio, I do think he intended those changes. Note, for example, that the material on Iron Man that he deleted he had moved to the article on Twin Galaxies. If you don't mind, I may go ahead and restore those edits -- recognizing, of course, that overall this bio is a bit problematic. TimidGuy (talk) 15:05, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Good afternoon! I came here to find about Mary Turner, the lynched black woman. Hi. Yes, I was working on that as part of a new article with a tricky spelling. Presumably your robot got in before I had a chance to correct it.
I say, you seem like a knowledgeable chap : how do you insert a crosslink from an article to a category? If you put in ((Category:xxx) it applies the category to the whole article without displaying the link. Kitchen Bar
Hi. Thanks for your contribution to the Kitchen Bar AfD discussion. I'm a bit confused by your comment that there's no assertion of notability because the article now has four media references, including a whole article in The Observer and a BBC feature. It states here that "A company, corporation, organization, group, product, or service is notable if it has been the subject of coverage in secondary sources. Such sources must be reliable, and independent of the subject. The depth of coverage of the subject by the source must be considered. If the depth of coverage is not substantial, then multiple independent sources should be cited to establish notability. Trivial or incidental coverage of a subject by secondary sources is not sufficient to establish notability". The article would seem to meet those criteria to me. Cordless Larry (talk) 12:37, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
I note that you tagged this article for speedy deletion, within 2 minutes of its first save and while the creator was still actively working on it. You may be interested in recent discussions on this topic at user talk:Orangemike (Topics LNWR 2-2-2 3020 Cornwall & others and Convoy SC-143)
The problem is that this article certainly doesn't merit speedy deletion, even in the state it has reached a couple of hours later. The cause is that many editors use wikipedia as their editing scratchpad - the first save may be no more than a line or two long. This isn't a good article, but it's going to become one. That's a long way from the "My classmate is a ..." stuff that really merits instant deletion.
Having observed a number of new-article patrollers who've gone down this route, and had to do a bunch of legwork myself to recover promising articles, I'd ask that anyone thinking of tagging like this (when it's not obvious garbage) to please watch and wait for a while before assuming that's as far as the article's ever going to move unprompted. Hello. That other user used this source to claim she is Pashtun/Uzbek: http://www.sepiamutiny.com/sepia/archives/002153.html#comment31665
This is a comment on an internet forum. That is not a reliable source. In her own interview with BBC Persian she said her ethnicity clearly which was Tajik. — Ibrahimzai (talk • contribs) has made few or no other edits outside this topic. The preceding unsigned comment was added at 00:56, 26 May 2008 (UTC) (UTC).
I listened to the interview on youtube (supposedly recorded from BBC persian news) and question regarding her ethnic background was not asked. She mentioned that her parents are both "Afghans", meaning citizens of Afghanistan. The man asks her where in Afghanistan do you (or parents) come from and she says from the "Tajik-area", refering to northeastern area of Afghanistan where most Tajiks live. However, there are not only Tajiks living there but small pockets of other ethnic groups including Pashtuns. The BBC English site says her father's name is "Khushal" and that is clearly non-Tajik name for sure. Khushal is a very popular name among ethnic Pashtuns. See Khushal Khan Khattak. Also, http://www.sepiamutiny.com/sepia/archives/002153.html#comment31665 is more reliable than someone placing POV in her article about her being Tajik. If it qualify's as unreliable then it may be removed.--119.30.67.148 (talk) 12:33, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

- Yes, but that does not make him Pashtun. If someone's father is Irish and their mother Italian that does not mean they are Irish, etc. Also, Farhad Darya sings more Persian songs than Pashto songs. — Ibrahimzai (talk • contribs) has made few or no other edits outside this topic. The preceding unsigned comment was added at 01:05, 26 May 2008 (UTC) (UTC).
- Please do not help this vandal remove "Farhad Darya" from Pashtun people article. The reason Darya is added in that article is because he is popular PASHTO SINGER. If he was Jamaican and his ethnic background was African and sang Pashto songs he still would be added because the section deals with people who sing Pashto songs. It does not deal with ethnic background.
- Farhad Darya's father is Pashtun and that's mentioned in many articles about him but his mother being Tajik is something very new, it needs to be verified and that writings this vandal shows is not verifiable because it's missing a link to the source. Anyone can makeup fake sources here and this vandal has been doing it alot. Most people marry their own kind in Afghanistan, meaning Pashtun marry Pashtun but in rare cases they marry others. To say his father is Pashtun and mother a Tajik, you need to provide convincing evidence to back that claim. By the way the vandal is Tajik, and a very anti-Pashtun. If you see Pashtun article history he comes under many sockpuppets and vandalise it. He even removes Zalmay Khalilzad image because he doesn't want Pashtuns' image to look good to the westerners. Anyway he just got indef blocked for being a another sockpuppet of banned User:Beh-nam. --119.30.67.148 (talk) 12:46, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

Please don't nominate new users' user pages for deletion just for expressing an unusual philosophy, as you did with User:Flying stone. As of this writing, Flying stone has been a registered Wikipedia editor for less than 3 hours, yet you requested speedy deletion of his user page one minute after they created it and less than 1 hour after they registered. If Flying stone had posted that content in the mainspace, it would indeed have been speedily deletable. But trying to speedily delete that content from his user page constitutes biting the new users. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 05:59, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Alexius08, I don't believe you should have removed the link I just added to a worldwide collection of images of Buddha. This is a link to a legitimate resource of more than 500 examples of how images of Buddha are displayed in contemporary culture worldwide. Hello, if the article creators blank their page after it being tagged for speedy deletion, as e.g. for Samanites that should not be reverted as it essentially amounts to them agreeing with the deletion in the sense of WP:CSD#G7.--Tikiwont (talk) 11:55, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
Your signature
Your current signature, Alexius08 is welcome to talk about his contributions, is somewhat misleading, you may consider changing it. --Anna Lincoln (talk) 15:43, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
- Okay. I've trimmed it down to minimize the number of bytes. Alexius08 (talk) 08:45, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

Wigan Warriors
You recently reverted one of my edits in order to re-insert a huge section of blatant advertising inserted by someone with a very obvious name. The resulting edits have left the article factually incorrect. In 2007 Wigan Warriors did play in a BLACK kit. 213.208.112.154 (talk) 13:43, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
User:92.43.64.70 Vandalism
I see you've warned User:92.43.64.70 several times about vandalism. It struck again recently on Beluga (whale), Elephant Seal, Talk:Blue Whale and Talk:Beluga (whale). I reverted the vandalism, but not sure how to handle escalating the warnings to a block. I suppose I can go to AN/I but figured I'd check with you first. Rlendog (talk) 17:35, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
- Try giving him a 4im. After striking again within three days, you can go report him. Alexius08 (talk) 23:52, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Brickfilms
Is this where I can discuss the brickfilms entry on WIKI ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.45.140.2 (talk • contribs) 01:47, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
- Please discuss it on the relevant talk page. Alexius08 (talk) 01:55, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
