The London School of Russian Language and Literature - declined by you.
Thank you for your messages. I shall look for further references to add, however, all the references I have already used are absolutely independent. I am definitely not paid and will never be paid for editing this article- you are mistaken! The russian school is a not-for-profit company. I am still learning how to create articles. DYK for Jasraj
On 24 June 2020, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Jasraj, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Jasraj, a Hindustani classical musician, is still teaching music at age 90, including via Skype? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Jasraj. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Jasraj), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

The article Jasraj you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Jasraj for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already been on the main page as an "In the news" or "Did you know" item, you can nominate it to appear in Did you know. - Congratulations! Hekerui (talk) 09:30, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Hekerui: Thank you very much. That means a lot. I became interested in the article when it was nominated for deletion. Taking it from there to GA has been very interesting, as I had no background understanding of the subject matter. The language barrier, terminology and unfamiliar culture have been good challenges. My editing will no doubt have improved by the feedback that the GA reviewers gave. I hope to continue to improve the article further and have Ram Narayan as an example of what a great article looks like. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 10:44, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
Model Monkey submission
Hello Curb Safe Charmer.
My draft submission for a 3D-printing business named "Model Monkey" was declined today. I confirm that I am the owner of Model Monkey. As such, I am not explicitly paid to create Wikipedia submissions but am in a position to accurately describe the nature of the company and its founding. Please let me know what information I may provide as the business owner that might satisfy Wikipedia requirements.
Thank you! Sincerely, Steve Larsen — Preceding unsigned comment added by S.larsen (talk • contribs) 17:21, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
- @S.larsen: As the owner of the business you have a 'financial stake in promoting a topic' and therefore you must comply with the paid editing disclosure requirements that are part of the terms of use of Wikipedia. The instructions for how to do this are in the message that I left on your talk page. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 18:37, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
Speedy deletion contested: Specialized System Consultants
Hello Curb Safe Charmer, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Specialized System Consultants, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Makes a credible assertion of significance: publishing multiple notable publications. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Mdaniels5757 (talk) 20:25, 25 June 2020 (UTC)

ComTec Information Systems (IT) - response
Hello Curb Safe Charmer, Greetings!
This is regarding new page for ComTec Information Systems (IT). I am an employee working at this company and we intend to create a Wikipedia page for our organization. there is no additional money spent on this activity and no one is getting paid for this activity separately. We already have the corporate website in place for all kinds of business uses. The only intention of going for Wikipedia page is to start contributing to the Wikipedia world from our real time observations and learnings that could be useful to the millions of visitors.
Please do let me know if we are going in the right directions to have this page published.
Thank You, Nagesh Comt — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nagesh Comt (talk • contribs) 22:16, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Nagesh Comt: No, you are not going in the right direction to have this page published. Firstly, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. It is not a directory of companies. We have criteria for deciding which companies should have articles about them, and which should not. Your company falls into the second category. Secondly, as you are an employee of the company you are being paid. That makes you a WP:PAID contributor and you must comply with the rules regarding paid editing which are part of the terms and conditions of use of Wikipedia. Thirdly, Wikipedia is not to be used for promotion. Lastly, if you wish to contribute learnings to Wikipedia they must be contributed by individuals, not by the company, and those individuals must declare any conflict of interest. "Digital Finance" article
Hello, Unfortunately, my article submission has been rejected. I just wanted to draw your attention that I have provided a reference to an independent article about Digital Finance and its invention of the new financial product, in the reliable source (Washington Business Journal). Though it was a paid subscription article. Probably that was the reason for the rejection as you could not see the content of this article? Could you please help me and advise how to fix that? Currently, I have only this single article fully devoted to Digital Finance and its innovative financial product. I also provided references to SEC website to confirm that Digital Finance was registered as one of the first digital assets investment advisors in the U.S. and filed its innovative product with SEC. Please help me to improve my article so I can resubmit it. Thank you in advance for your time!
Sincerely, Liliya LiliyaBulgakova (talk) 02:44, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
- @LiliyaBulgakova: No, I won't help you to create an article that promotes the company that you used to work for. Let me explain why:
- Using Wikipedia for WP:PROMOTION is not allowed.
- You say that you do not have a conflict of interest and that you no longer work for the company. However four times you uploaded a copy of an article about the company dated 22 January 2020 1, 2, 3, 4 which clearly says at the top "For the exclusive use of Maxim Nurov". For that file to be in your possession shows that you are still in contact with him after leaving the company. Writing an article about a company owned by someone you know personally is a clear conflict of interest.
- Your four attempts to upload that document when it has previously been deleted with a clear explanation of why it was deleted shows that you are trying to circumvent the system to get the article published.
- Your first and only contribution to Wikipedia is the now-deleted Draft:Digital Finance. That makes you what we call a single purpose account. I do not believe you are here to build an encyclopedia.
- The company is not notable. As you say, you've only been able to find one publication that has written about it in depth and that was substantially contributed to by Nurov so is not considered independent. The WP:NCORP criteria are not met. Therefore this company should not have an article about it in Wikipedia.

Isle of Man
For heaven's sake, you could confirm that by simply looking at the appropriate Wiki page. There is nothing questionable about it. If you prefer an incomplete Wiki page on the history fine. I am not going to go back and try to make it more complete - AGAIN. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.53.50.121 (talk) 22:34, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
Draft Page for Dr Basil Hunnisett
Dear Curb Safe Charmer
You noted for the above page;
Please provide references that show that Hunnisett's life and work has been written about in depth by multiple reliable, independent publications. Please also make sure that the web addresses in the references take the reader directly to the material that substantiates the claims rather than just to the home page of the website.
I have now provided multiple reliable independent publications and websites, particularly in the "Legacy" section and as of this afternoon, all links go directly to the subject.
Grateful if you could review and Critique when you have a moment.
Many thanks Harpysett Harpysett (talk) 12:43, 29 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Harpysett: Please can you read WP:THREE and follow the instructions there to identify which of the references in the article best meet those criteria? I can then quickly review those. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 15:25, 29 June 2020 (UTC)
- For the three best Sources to support Notability I would suggest [12], [17], & [4] from the Draft References section.
- Hunnisett’s books on steel engraving were some of the first to cover the subject in such detail and are still cited as a reference 40 years on from publication by leading Libraries and Museums.
- [12] (Under Legacy), The British Museum still uses Hunnisett’s book the Dictionary of British Steel Engravers, as the sole Bibliography for an engraving by John Henry Robinson in their collection.
- [17] Princeton University Resources for Rare Books still include Steel-Engraved Book Illustration in England under their current Print Resources - Engravings, Etchings, and Copper Plates: recommended bibliography
- [4] Under Reviews in the Journal of Library History - JSTOR
- Early peer reviews noted “The history of steel engraving, however, has hitherto been confined to a page or two in surveys of book illustration or Victorian art history, not easily accessible to interested collectors or librarians. Therefore Basil Hunnisett’s book, the first systematic treatment of the subject, is most welcome.”[4]
- The other references listed under “References” and “Legacy” are all of a similar quality.
- Thank you Harpysett (talk) 15:26, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Harpysett: Notability isn't based on what Hunnisett has written - we want to know what other publications have written about him. While I do not have access to [4], I reviewed 12 and 17 and read your excerpt from 4. None of these constitute in depth coverage of Hunnisett. Therefore, if I was reviewing the draft I would decline it. Also, I notice you have not replied to my message on your talk page about declaring a conflict of interest? Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 14:31, 4 July 2020 (UTC)

@Calliopejen1 and @Curb, welldone guys for the amazing editing and redrafting of this new article. I want to sincerely commend you guys for this. Request on 01:27:14, 13 July 2020 for assistance on AfC submission by Rndilger
Hello! This is my first time creating a Wiki article, so please bear with me. I am writing this article to memorialize my Ph.D. mentor, Dr. David H. Baker and considering I am new to this process, I merely mimicked language that was found on the science biography page of another Dr. David Baker (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Baker_(biochemist)). I am having a hard time seeing how I can make my language more neutral, so I would appreciate some assistance in the matter.
Regards,
rndilger
Rndilger (talk) 01:27, 13 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Rndilger: Hello. We advise against your first Wikipedia article being about a topic that you are closely associated with as in this case. It is far better to cut your teeth improving some existing articles first, so that you become familiar with Wikipedia's guidelines and manual of style. You can then move on to creating an article about something that you don't have a connection to. Creating a neutral article about someone you know is hard so we don't recommend it. I suggest you follow that process. You'll also hopefully have learned from the deletion of your draft that you have to write Wikipedia articles in your own words and not copy text from copyrighted sources. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 09:09, 13 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Curb Safe Charmer:
- I appreciate that perspective but would rebut your assertions as followed. I have edited other Wiki articles, and I am mainly contributing to the creation of this David H. Baker page to honor my late Ph.D. advisor. As such, I had originally corrected a mistake on the NAS member list (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_members_of_the_National_Academy_of_Sciences_(Animal,_nutritional_and_applied_microbial_sciences), where the wrong David Baker was being linked. In order to provide the correct information, I need to create a page for my mentor. As a scientist, I certainly understand the need for proper attribution and I have published nearly 100 peer-reviewed scientific articles in my short career. Moreover, the language that I am using is paraphrased from a memorial article to which I directly contributed: http://www.nasonline.org/publications/biographical-memoirs/memoir-pdfs/baker-david.pdf. There must be some solution to this seemingly simple situation, and I have already gone so far as to declare my conflict of interest. Please continue engaging me on this topic, as it's important that we get this correct to honor my deceased mentor.
- Rndilger (talk) 12:07, 13 July 2020 (UTC)rndilger
- @Rndilger: Rather than continue to discuss this here I have opened a discussion at the Conflict of Interest Noticeboard where experts on matters like this can advise you. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 15:27, 13 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Curb Safe Charmer:Thank you for your prompt and professional responses and support of my efforts. I'll also reach out to thank the other contributors who have brought this effort to fruition. Regards, Rndilger (talk) 22:16, 13 July 2020 (UTC)rndilger

Dr Basil Hunnisett Draft
@Harpysett: Notability isn't based on what Hunnisett has written - we want to know what other publications have written about him.
Notability
- I’ve not been able to find any articles about him, hence the request to create one, and other than a well-qualified professional career, I would agree that the page as it stands if the books were excluded, does not merit inclusion in Wikipedia.
- His books, however, are noteworthy and the page is intended to give the readers and a new generation of researchers and students background to the author, his qualifications and experience in the Genre as the books are still regularly referenced.
- If I was an academic or student, I would want to know who Hunnisett was and with what authority he could make the claims, conclusions and statements; are the books a reliable source of information? I had written the page in a way that hopefully addresses this issue.
- An option might be to just write about the books but bearing in mind the two paragraphs above, that may rather defeat the object of the exercise?
- Given that this is your first article I don't think you have the level of understanding of the notability guidelines in a position to assess the notability of the subject, and I don't think you can make that assessment objectively given that the article is about your father. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 15:50, 14 July 2020 (UTC)
Still currently referenced
- In addition to the 16 citations listed under Legacy in the article and another 15 that have not been listed in the article, the books are still being used as reference works in new articles in Wikipedia as the ten entries spanning from 2003 to 2017 below show. They demonstrate that the books contents are still relevant and regarded as a bench mark to modern research into the subject and their contents and information has not been superseded from an alternative source.
- The draft should be assessed against the WP:AUTHOR and WP:ACADEMIC criteria. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 15:50, 14 July 2020 (UTC)
Precedents
- The following Wikipedia entries are about academic contemporaries of Hunnisett and their works are in similar subjects such as engraving and printing. Other than an odd obituary, or University staff list, none of the entries have any supporting citations about the person, only their work and books are featured, the same as proposed for Hunnisett.
- Antony Griffiths
- Michael Twyman
- Ronald Vere Tooley
- Gordon Norton Ray
- Eric Helleiner
- Henry Petroski
- Richard L. Hills
- Raymond Lister
- I will take a look at these, but please read WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS to understand why the 'precedent' argument doesn't really hold water here on Wikipedia. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 15:50, 14 July 2020 (UTC)
Conflict of Interest
- This is my first Wiki page so am not au fait with all of the Wiki protocols and have just read about COI in your note and yes, Basil Hunnisett was my late Father.
- I have raised the issue of your conflict of interest with the experts on the COI policy and they will be in touch in due course. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 15:50, 14 July 2020 (UTC)
Wikitia
- I came across this site from wikitia, I assume that it is nothing to do with Wikipedia but wondered how they got hold of the information if our article is still in the draft stage?
- When you post an article to Wikipedia, even when it is a draft, you agree that other publications can re-use it. There are several such mirror sites that scrape the content off Wikipedia, which they are allowed to do as long as they comply with the reuse licence. - Thank you for your comments and if I may, can I wait to hear the results of your fellow Editors regarding my COI before I do any more editing on the article? I understand the Wikipedia position but I’m back to work now and am a little reluctant to spend the time on editing if the article is likely to be declined due to COI. If COI is resolved favourably, then I’m happy to spend as long as it takes to get it to a stage where AFC can review it again.
Incidentally, you mentioned that Hunnisett wasn’t found on Google Scholar but my search came up with several pages with his books listed and other books where they were cited.

- Correct.
- 2. Website looks credible to me. can you pinpoint your exact concern sir? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sohailp (talk • contribs) 11:29, 22 July 2020 (UTC)
- Reliable sources would include national newspapers, most text books, peer reviewed academic papers. We do not usually accept e-commerce sites as sources - see WP:AFFILIATE. This website that sells mangoes is certainly not what we would consider a reliable source. We might consider the National Mango Board as a source. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 11:57, 22 July 2020 (UTC)

Rejecting article
I want to be convinced why is it that Eternal shadow rejected my article Draft:Charles Egbu? The article is well known and notable base on wikipedia requirements,I gave strong references of the independent newspapers but it was rejected. Why? You have to explain why. Sadeeqzaria (talk) 15:39, 3 August 2020 (UTC)
- @Sadeeqzaria: This draft was rejected in error by a novice reviewer, so sorry about that. I have now accepted it. Some advice for future articles - you don't need to have so many citations for the same statement. One or two good ones will do. In your draft, you had many references that were just copies of the same news release, so those don't add any value. Also, please be careful with spelling. A good way to spot a spelling mistake is to make a name a link to the appropriate article and see if it comes up red (indicating the target article doesn't exist) or blue. Thank you very much for your kind words. While my account is old, I am very new to this process. It's been so long since I've last logged in that I don't recognize most of the notations. I am hoping to work with the Wikipedians to make my article better. I think it is relevant and there is a lot of confusion out there on the subject of small family educational co-operatives. But at the moment, I'm having problems just finding how to answer people in the right place.Owerby (talk) 22:01, 4 August 2020 (UTC)

Aspose.PDF
Hi Curb Safe Charmer, Please note I need some instructions concerning paid editing disclosure requirements. There are too many links, rules, and regulations concerning different things. If I use this template {{paid|user=Drazan Jarak|employer=Aspose|client=InsertName}} may I exclude the last part |client=InsertName - as I don't know what to put there. Also, my intention wasn't that the page looks like an advertisement. I just want to create a "normal" Wikipedia page, as this product (among many other similar products) deserves (in my opinion) its place on Wikipedia. Thank you.
- @Drazan Jarak: if you are employed by Aspose and writing the article on their behalf then put Aspose as the client too. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 09:24, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
- @Curb Safe Charmer:
- Thanks.
- Could you please direct me regarding the page. What would be the best to do now so it will look less like advertising?
- @Drazan Jarak: If I don't appear to be rushing to help you that is simply because I do not believe Aspose.PDF is a subject that belongs in an encyclopedia. See WP:Notability and WP:NPRODUCT. I suggest you choose another topic to write about. Hopefully something where you have no vested interest. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 13:02, 12 August 2020 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Logistics companies of Ireland
A tag has been placed on Category:Logistics companies of Ireland requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Francis Baraan IV article
Hello, Curb Safe Charmer! Thank you for heloing me improve my Article Francis Baraan IV, and for including it in more cstegories. I added new sections and references to prove notability. And like I said, more sources are forthcoming.
It has been 5 days since you nominated my article for deletion. But that was before any improvements made to the Article. And seeing that you have been helping edit the Article and including it in categories under Filipino journalists, Filipino human rights activists, and Filipino activists, abd Filipino bloggers, I guess it's safe to say that you see promise in my Article. I would surmise that you think it should be kept, despite the barrage of Delete nominations due to the bypassed authority, which was an honest mistake (and I ask for leniency due to my rookie status here on Wikipedia).
Also, conandaily.com has been used as reference by many articles here. One just has to search conandaily.com and Articles will pop up. It is not a blog, it is a daily online news site. Conan Altatis is thr Editor-in-Chief, and he has a team of weriters and editors, which is provided in yhe About Section. It is a reliable, independent source. May I remove the unreliable source tag?
Thank you.
MediaManager1 (talk) 01:44, 27 August 2020 (UTC)
- @MediaManager1: If editors are polite and ask questions about how to be a better editor then I will help them. However, do not take that to mean that I believe the article about Baraan belongs in Wikipedia. My view on that has not changed. The purpose of adding the article to categories is to increase the likelihood that someone with knowledge of those particular subjects will see the article and contribute their viewpoint to the discussion.
- As regards conandaily.com, I had flagged it as possibly not being a reliable source, and I asked a question about it at the reliable sources noticeboard where people with more experience of determining the reliability of sources hang out. Their view, although with limited comments so far, was that it is not a reliable source.
- While you may ask for leniency, the article will stand or fall on its own merits, rather than how long you've been editing.
- My personal view is that rather than being here to build an encyclopedia your sole intention is to promote or publicise Baraan, which is incompatible with Wikipedia's purposes. I cannot see why a guest house, or a blogger, would employ a PR person, so I think you probably are Baraan.
- Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 08:48, 27 August 2020 (UTC)
Thank you for your reply,User:Curb Safe Charmer. I am not Baraan. I am one of his family's part-time staff. Whether you guys believe it or not is irrelevant. I already started the Article about Baraan's father, Francisco Baraan III, but it was summarily deleted after I stated in the talk page that I will edit it and improve it.
As for notability, my sources have already satisfied WP:GNG for a biographical stub for a journalist and public figure. I value your opinion, but I think calling a topic or article non-notable after proving otherwise with additional resources and the promising to provide more in the future, is premature.
But I am open to suggestions on how to improve my article as a stub. Also, Conan Daily is indexed on Google News. Therefore, it is reliable. And various Articles here use Conandaily.com as reference. So, either Wikipedians are biased against paid contributor-users, or this is just really some kind of hazing for newbies?
I would like to create and edit more Articles, believe me. But seeing that my paid contributor status seems to be working against me, I will have to finish and improve this Article first.
I suggest either letting me improve this Article and withdraw your nomination since I have already addressed notability concerns, and still improving this Article, or helping me improve this Article as a stub for a journalist.
At this juncture, deleting the Article after I have made good faith edits (and have not undone any of your edits to my Article), would be egregious. So, I hope instead of trying to suss out some kind of false confession from me, you could just help me improve this, and keep it, and move on so I can create new ones. Thanks.

Good evening,
I am quite disheartened that my page was deleted I am new to Wikipedia and I have tried my very best to write the article as per your policy for every time I have had feed back from the reviewer went back to amend it. after the last review I came on to make the amendments suggested, only to find the post deleted.

- @Nkechi36: Wikipedia doesn't have an article about every subject. There are criteria that we use to decide which topics have an article about them and which don't. The criteria for bands is WP:NBAND. Please read it and you'll understand why your article has been rejected. Wikipedia isn't a place where you can have free advertising for the band. Hi Curb Safe Charmer You declined the above-named article as not meeting notability guidelines. May I suggest that although each fact may not meet notability guidelines in itself, that when they are taken in toto, that notability occurs: these being [1] being the general secretary of an international political organisation (where three other general secretaries have their own wikipedia page) [2] organising a record containing the first rock songs in two languages [3] organising the creation of 10,000 wikipedia articles [4] winning £500,000 and being the brother of a £1,000,000 winner on the TV programme 'Who wants to be a millionaire?' (a family feat unprecedented in the history of the programme). I have tried to add more references, and upgrade the standard of the references present. Would you check these four points, especially the inconsistencies noted in point [1] above, and let me know whether notability now exists. Brwynog (talk) 22:09, 18 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Brwynog: The criteria by which we assess notability have been decided by the Wikipedia editor community. The criteria for biographies can be found at WP:NBIO. If you take a look at them you will find that a person having an important job doesn't automatically mean they are notable. See also WP:NPOL. There are special criteria for the notability of musicians at WP:NMUSICIAN. Being on a TV programme doesn't make a person notable, and nor does being the brother of someone notable. However if other reliable, independent publications (such as books or national newspaper articles) have already written in depth about the person and if you can cite references to those publications then the person may be notable and we'll assess the article based on the quality of those references. Reviews
There is nothing that says that AFC drafts have to be perfect before being accepted (that would actually go against the point of AFC) and there is nothing that says tagging every issue is required. SL93 (talk) 08:48, 21 September 2020 (UTC)
- @SL93: Hmm. The instructions for AfC review include checking verifiability. Notability is at the core of AfC and I suspect this is not notable (it was previously deleted as such). But I think what is happening here is that when you accept a draft at AfC it is automatically marking it as patrolled. Do you have the WP:Curation toolbar installed? That may be doing it. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 08:59, 21 September 2020 (UTC)
- I can tag everything that is non-verified if that is an issue. My reason for approving Asia Designer Communication Platform was to merge some content to Annie Ivanova and Yarinda Bunnag, where the organization is mentioned and I didn't think I could do such a task from a draft. I became busy and forgot what I was originally planning. I will do that now. As for being marked as patrolled, my articles are autopatrolled. If that makes my reviewed AfC articles show up, that doesn't make any sense because I'm not marking anything as patrolled. I would like to know the reason myself. SL93 (talk) 09:09, 21 September 2020 (UTC)
- @SL93: I have just found that there's a current thread about this at Wikipedia_talk:New_pages_patrol/Reviewers#New_article_created_through_AfC. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 09:14, 21 September 2020 (UTC)
- That actually annoys me. AFC reviewers have been promoting articles without tagging anything or everything. I even just saw an admin approve an article without tagging it for having no categories a few days ago. I will tag everything now that I know this, but I can't say that other AFC reviewers will or that it will make clearing the massive backlog any easier. SL93 (talk) 09:24, 21 September 2020 (UTC)

Well done sir. I have a question.
Base on my editing format, you will notice that I have will of clearing any promotional and advertisement on Wikipedia pages. Incase if it is indicated "failed verification" what is required there for it to be ok? Abubakar Balarabe (talk) 08:55, 23 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Abubakar Balarabe: It is good to see you contributing to other articles rather than continuing to create new ones. Creating new articles is hard for new users. It is better to get experience editing other articles first. It saves other editors having to spent a lot of time fixing 'beginner' mistakes.
- Regarding your question about 'failed verification' you can read about the template and when to use it at Template:Failed verification. There is information about dealing with uncited statements at WP:NOCITE. If the citation that failed verification is the only reference then the tag should prompt the article's creator (or any other editor) to replace the reference with one that does verify the statement. If no such reference can be found then the statement may need to be deleted. But in this case, the author had two references for the statement and the other one did support the statement, so you did the right thing in removing the unnecessary citation. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 09:05, 23 September 2020 (UTC)
Thank you for your reply sir. It was I who provided the supported reference yesterday when I noticed that the page needs a lot of modifications. I will use your advice in focusing on providing solutions to pages that have problems than creating new pages untill i learn many things about wikipidia. Please, I want you to put your eyes on my editing format in order to be doing the right thing. I really appreciate your effort. Because I have look for numerous anchors Wikipedia page where they have public speaking and sometimes with moderation. If there is no any positive reason I will undo it from where it was. Abbas Kwarbai (talk) 11:48, 19 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Abbas Kwarbai: The sentence about the languages she can speak doesn't belong in a section about moderation or public speaking, and once it was moved to the section on education it leaves a single sentence. Per WP:PARAGRAPH and MOS:PARA we try to avoid having single-sentence paragraphs and single sentence sections. Public speaking and event moderation is part of her career, so it belongs in the career section.
- Comparing one article to another is problematic because the other, older article may not be ideally written or laid out. If you can given some examples I will take a look. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 12:34, 19 October 2020 (UTC)

Jucradigital (talk) 13:34, 21 October 2020 (UTC) Change of username
Hi there
Sorry I'm VERY new to this and struggling to understand the proper process with all the reference material that wikipedia uses in its explanations.
I got the welcome note about my username and it should change.
How do I do this. I just tell you the new name I would like here?
Jucradigital (talk) 13:34, 21 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Jucradigital: To find out how to change your username please read Wikipedia:Changing username. However that wasn't the issue my message to you was about. Your username gives the impression that you are editing Wikipedia in a professional capacity, working on behalf of a client. If that's the case, you need to declare it before editing further. Hi, my article got deleted before I could contest it
The reason why my page was deleted was that apparently, it was copied from https://eidain.com/kurulus-osman/. However, I didn't copy it from that page but that page copied it from an older version of the 'Cast and characters' section on Kuruluş: Osman section. Here is proof: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Kurulu%C5%9F:_Osman&oldid=984825354#Cast_and_characters. What should I do? Limorina (talk) 07:17, 22 October 2020 (UTC)

Draft UArchitects
Dear Curb Safe Charmer
I have made the changes to the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:UArchitects page. The promotional award section has been removed and i would like to publish the page. However i can not find how to officially do this.. could you tell me the steps ?Meimaar.93 (talk)
Greetings Meimaar.93 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Meimaar.93 (talk • contribs) 11:49, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Meimaar.93: You only have one reference, and that appears to be text that the company has written about itself. Please add references that show that the company has been written about in depth by multiple reliable, independent publications such as books or national newspapers. The coverage should be WP:SECONDARY which means in this case that rather than those publications reporting about a new building being constructed that was designed by the firm, the writer should provide their own analysis, evaluation, interpretation of that project rather than just stating the facts about it. Once you have three such references, resubmit your draft for review. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 11:56, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
Final draft
Hi Please check my draft. 1. There is a recommendation to merge the page with Adams Bridge origins page, my page covers a much wider topic and various controversies so the two need not be merged. Please let me know how to remove the merge suggestion
2.For some reason the Submit for Review button is not showing on my page can you please check if there is some backend problem. Sharing my draft link in the meanwhile.

- @Bhumi2tandon: Thanks for your message. While you clearly have an opinion on whether your draft should become a standalone article, we should seek WP:consensus on this. If you look at Talk:Adam's Bridge you'll see that this is a sensitive subject with editors having different viewpoints. We should let others join the discussion. There's no rush.
- If I were reviewing the draft at this point in its development I would want to see more reliable sources to back up the statements you've made.
- Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 11:26, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
- Yes well thanks for your prompt response. The article has been written from a neutral point of view with relevant quotations and references. Since I have known the material since almost an year now. If you will notice the traffic in the Adam's bridge page you will find that there are hundreds of thousands of searches for the search word "Ram Setu" on Wikipedia, those searches are actually to understand these various debates over the Ram Setu issue only. Being a native of India I know that these various controversies are highly debated in the country. However, there is no wiki page to give the details of the various controversies. To give you an example a debate over Mr Trump does not just include his political policies, it may include his health, his life style etc. Thus this page covers various aspect of the information required to understand the controversy not just the origins.
- Thanks again for making the links in my page :)) Bhumi2tandon (talk) 11:38, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Bhumi2tandon: I am not suggesting that the content you've written is not valuable. On the contrary. But I think it could be used to expand the existing article. A separate article is appropriate if the main article becomes too long, but we're not at that point yet. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 11:48, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
- Actually if you think about it my page covers a wider topic, so may be merge the Adam Bridge origins page into mine only makes sense because otherwise the Sethusamudram Canal Project Controversy section of the page cannot be added to Origins page.
- Actually my first preference would be to publish the page stand alone. Rest not aware of the rules much here since this is my first draft — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bhumi2tandon (talk • contribs) 12:01, 23 October 2020 (UTC)

Reviewed page Ram Setu Controversy
Hi Thanks for your review. Ok so those edits in my page were made by you, actually those edits were causing an Edit Conflict on my page when i was trying to make the recommended alterations. Was seeking your help for the Edit Conflict earlier if you remember. The recommended changes have been made the name of scientists added and citations given. Please check under the heading "Natural or human origins". — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bhumi2tandon (talk • contribs) 15:23, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Bhumi2tandon: Unfortunately as this comparison illustrates the sections titled 'Ramayana' and 'Abrahamic story' that I tagged as being unsourced are still unsourced. The statements like 'some scientists believe' and 'various scientists', 'various opinions have been expressed' are problematic. Please read WP:WEASEL for why. I see another user has reverted your re-submission of the draft, as those issues were not addressed. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 15:34, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
- Hi
- First of all thanks a lot for your patience today.
- Have removed the section with the 'scientists' part objected by you. But could you please help me understand the second objection.
- The two sections for which you have recommended adding citations viz Ramayana (section summarising the story of Ramayana) and Adam (Summarising the story of Adam's peak) it's a bit difficult to give citations for these stories, since what is given in these sections is essentially a summary of the two stories given in Ancient Scriptures so giving citation for these summarised stories would be a little difficult since I'd have to cite the Ancient text Ramayana itself. So is it necessary to give a citation in a situation like this.
- Here's the edited link
- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Ram_Setu_Controversy#Natural_or_human_origins_controversy — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bhumi2tandon (talk • contribs) 15:59, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Bhumi2tandon: I presume there are other publications that have written about those stories, so you can add references to those publications. Even if you had to cite Ramayana itself, that would be ok - your sources don't have to be online, so long as someone with the time and inclination could find the material you refer to in a book in a library somewhere. See Wikipedia:Citing sources for more information on why we need citations and how to cite offline sources. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 16:08, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
Regarding the suggestions to merge the Ram Setu Dispute article with two others
Hi Thanks a lot for your suggestion to merge the article 'Ram Setu Dispute' with the existing two pages on the topic. Subsequent to your suggestions and having gone through the proposed articles I would like to bring to your notice that my page traces the time lines of a "Media Controversy" and different aspects of various disputes that have been raised with respect to the Ram Setu at different points of time. My page is not about the academic angle as much as it is about the controversies and at that, the page covers not just academic controversies but legal as well. That's why it's been named Ram Setu 'Controversy'.
To give an example we have several TV shows that for example have episodes that update viewers about the controversy and the history of the entire dispute over the Berlin Wall or an episode that would cover the entire political history of tension between any two nations.
Being a native of India I know that this topic is hotly debated here and if you check the wiki search history the term "Ram Setu" is searched hundreds of thousands of times, this is because that is the term we use for the bridge in this part of the world and basically whole of South Asia. Wikipedia does not have a single page that covers the entire controversy from every angle.
The page is unique because the entire dispute pertaining to the Ram Setu from all the various angles, academic as well as legal and chronological has not been brought together by any other single page on Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bhumi2tandon (talk • contribs) 04:30, 24 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Bhumi2tandon: thank you for expressing your viewpoint on the two proposed merges. We should now wait for others to comment. I see one has already done so in a comment at the top of the draft. It seems you are in a hurry for your draft to be published, but please be patient in letting others comment. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 06:22, 24 October 2020 (UTC)
- Yes sure thought I need to put forward my point of view since the opinions are being posted. Can you please give me the link where I can post my comment so that everyone can consider it before voting. Bhumi2tandon (talk) 06:27, 24 October 2020 (UTC)
- At Talk:Adam's Bridge and Talk:Sethusamudram Shipping Canal Project#Proposed merge. You can get to these easily by clicking the 'Discuss' link on the merge proposal tags on your draft. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 06:30, 24 October 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot have posted my message there. Can you please let me know how many (minimum or maximum number) of opinions need to be taken before reaching a decision on the topic?
- My first wiki page so am not aware of this process. Bhumi2tandon (talk) 06:36, 24 October 2020 (UTC)
Ok actually yes you are right, am in a bit of a hurry because I will be travelling in a few days so not sure how much time I'd be able to give it afterwards. Bhumi2tandon (talk) 07:02, 24 October 2020 (UTC)
So just to confirm rest of draft is ok now we are only waiting for the opinions right? Bhumi2tandon (talk) 07:29, 24 October 2020 (UTC)
By the way just needed one clarification, is there a policy to not allow the page to be published till the discussion is pending....if not it's ok with me to edit some part or lines that anyone might have objection to and proceed to publish the rest of the page. (Since as already said am set to travel in a few days so want to do as much as I possible) Bhumi2tandon (talk) 09:39, 24 October 2020 (UTC)
- Coming here after seeing the discussion at Talk:Adam's Bridge and looking over the draft (which I had also looked at previously). @Bhumi2tandon: No, the draft is not ready to be moved to the main encyclopedia, for several different reasons, but Wikipedia has no deadline. I understand that you are eager to see your work published, but unfortunately this is not a matter of editing or removing some single sentences or even sections. (I notice that you have yet again submitted the draft for review even though the issues pointed out in the previous decline have not been fixed... so no doubt you will get feedback from another reviewer as well.) You're just going to have to be patient, take the feedback you get to heart, and keep in mind that not everything is appropriate for an encyclopedia article. Regards, --bonadea contributions talk 11:18, 24 October 2020 (UTC)
- Sorry as per my knowledge all previous issues have been fixed at the earliest on my part. If you find any that have not been fixed as yet please feel free to point them out specifically. Bhumi2tandon (talk) 11:29, 24 October 2020 (UTC)
- I do understand that you believe that the issues have been fixed, but that is simply not the case. When a draft article has large and overarching problems in several areas, it is unreasonable to expect a reviewer to point out all of them – the normal process is to start with the most serious ones, which were copyright (which has been fixed) and sourcing (which has not been fixed). The next point, which is the one that's being talked about in the merge discussions, is whether the topic of this draft is suitable for a standalone article or if it would make more logical sense to move some of the content to existing articles. It would not be appropriate to publish the draft when those discussions have only just begun. And after that, if uninvolved editors should agree that it makes sense for this to be a separate article, it would have to be thoroughly revised to remove superfluous details, create a more reader-friendly structure, and change the tone to be more neutral. That discussion should not happen on CSC's user talk page, though, and it's not something that's worth spending time and effort on yet. By all means weigh in on the merge discussions, though. --bonadea contributions talk 11:55, 24 October 2020 (UTC)

Objectionable behaviour by Wikipedia editor
Hi sir Since you have given so much of your precious time and energy to my page 'Ram Setu Controversy' am updating you with an issue of objectionable behaviour by an editor that has come up.
Please see a copy of my conversation with him below.
"The POV forks have already been fixed please check. Actually this is my first wiki page submission so I guess every place has its own style and language in which content is required to be written. Be it newspaper or websites :))
You cannot "fix" it. The whole thing is a POV fork. The answer was "no", and will remain "no" no matter how many times you repeat the question. Seraphimblade Talk to me 14:05, 24 October 2020 (UTC) You are entitled to your opinion and I respect that but a gentler tone would be appreciated. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bhumi2tandon (talk • contribs) 14:20, 24 October 2020 (UTC)
Mr Seraphimblade At 14:20 I objected to a high toned message from you and requested you to use a gentler tone and within 20 minutes of my message you went ahead and declined my draft page submission and arbitrarily closed a discussion that was posted on the page with respect to the merger of the page which was started today morning only and in which only you had given your opinion so far. The page was supposed to remain open for atleast seven days as per guidelines. I find this act on your behalf highly vindictive and prejudiced. Let me remind you that while Wikipedia grants some discretionary powers such vindictive acts are not covered by that.
Had you deleted my page the first time you went through it and thought it to be a POV fork I would not have objected but the action was done within 20 minutes of my submitting a message respectfully objecting to you high toned message this is clearly a vindictive act and highly objectionable behaviour for a place like wikipedia. Let me remind you no one not even you OWN the Wikipedia and small editors like us are the reason the Wikipedia exists. I would really appreciate if you stay away from the draft page now." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bhumi2tandon (talk • contribs) 15:45, 24 October 2020 (UTC)
Having a discussion on the article page
Yes sir I know article is not the right page to have a discussion but has posted that message on my article deliberately in order to let the reviewer know that my article had been declined maliciously.
Someone had removed that message from the article and now my reviewer is complaining that I have resubmitted the article without addressing the reason for decline.
How can I address the reason for decline when the reason for decline was that the reviewer vindictively declined the article after arbitrarily removing a discussion with respect to its merger opened the same day in the morning in which only he had given his opinion so far — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bhumi2tandon (talk • contribs) 23:49, 24 October 2020 (UTC)

Hi
I got a message from you where you say
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article about yourself, at User:Fsyloslab/sandbox. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged
There is a misunderstanding. I am propositing to write a page about my father Paolo Sylos Labini (see the italian version https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paolo_Sylos_Labini) so it is is not an article about myself. My father passed away in 2005 and he was a quite known economist. The article I am proposing was written in collaboration with several professors who were collaborators of my father.

Draft:Dr Basil Hunnisett
Dear Curb Safe Charmer, Thank you for confirming that Hunnisett meets the criteria for WP:NACADEMIC. I have removed statements that cannot be independently verified ( either no records still exist or the archives are currently in Covid lockdown) but have left the one for Brighton Library School 1948 where no records appear to still exist but his subsequent employment would indicate that he had professional subject training? Please feel free to delete if you think it is not helpful. Many thanks, Harpysett Harpysett (talk) 09:56, 14 January 2021 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Software companies of Nigeria
A tag has been placed on Category:Software companies of Nigeria requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia.
Liz Read! I would like to request you please remove the deletion of my article Mohand Marg Hashim Tariq bhat (talk) 04:21, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
- @Hashim Tariq bhat: Wikipedia doesn't have articles about every subject. It is up to the Wikipedia community to decide which subjects there should be articles about, and which shouldn't. This is done by discussion. The place for discussion for this article is Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mohand Marg. You can participate in the discussion, explaining why you think the article should be kept. I left a message on your talk page here yesterday which explains how. Okay. I am assuming that you found this on my List of Vega Launches, is that right? Once you are there, would ou mind reviewing it for C-Class? that would be much appreciated. No one is reviewing it for C-Class, though. The videos I want them to be since they will not change(the launch has already happend) and the videos are not references, they are simply a way for people to watch thit launch. I do have footnotes from launch history in non bare format. Also do you know why my List of Vega Launches is not visible to web browsers aside from Wikipedia’s, but a talk redirect is? I get that but you do not appear to understand my article’s format. After future Launches, I have an About the Vega-C section. Why should The about the Vega section not be a section the about the Vega-c should? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.183.212.131 (talk) 14:42, 19 January 2021 (UTC)

- @Sardar Nadir Ali: An article about him has been deleted three times. According to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Asif Tariq Bhat the last version of the article was poorly sourced and the consensus of the experienced editors which reviewed it concluded that he is not a notable poet. - @Sardar Nadir Ali: anyone can create Draft:Asif Tariq Bhat, but for such a draft to be moved to Asif Tariq Bhat in 'mainspace' (i.e. to become a proper article) that action has to be performed by an administrator. For an administrator to approve such a move involves an extra level of scrutiny of the draft, given other editor's concerns with previous versions of the article. Internet celebrity
@curb Safe charmer - The link that i have mentioned in the "Internet celebrity" page is about the strategies of influencer marketing and i have linked the "Strategies" word to it so that it will be more relevant. I don't find this is inappropriate for an encyclopedia. People will get insights into the strategies for influencers and marketing networks. Requesting you to please have a look into it once again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Saifi12345 (talk • contribs) 11:55, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
- @Saifi12345: As you are new to editing Wikipedia you may not be aware that there are extensive guidelines for what articles should and should not include, and how the content should be formatted - the Wikipedia:Manual of Style. This includes a guideline on the use of external links. This says that normally external links, such as the one you added, should not appear in the body of the article but instead should appear at the end in a section called 'external links'. It also includes guidance on including links which are intended to drive readers to a site (WP:EL#ADV). We avoid links that are commercial in nature like the one you added - see WP:LINKSPAM. Lastly, Wikipedia is not a 'how to' - it is not here to instruct people how to do something, like how to develop an influencer strategy. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 12:10, 21 January 2021 (UTC)

Hello,
I'm reaching out to you as I've been trying to publish a Wikipedia page but the text is considered to be spam/promotion.
May you please advise of what changes do I need to implement in order to fix the problem before the created page gets deleted?
Thank you in advance!

- @Gabriela.axsmarine: Wikipedia doesn't include articles about every subject. There are criteria used to determine which subjects should be included and which should not. The subject you wrote about is not notable, so does not belong in the encyclopedia. Therefore my recommendation is for you to find another subject to write about. Please review Draft: Donald Frith
I think I did a good job investigating all the areas of his expertise. He was a well known artist and should be recognized on Wikipedia. If you have suggestions, please help. I wrote all of this myself. I got information from books and gallery pamphlets, as well as info from the family members (who I do not know personally). Thank you, Marley — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marleyredd (talk • contribs) 03:17, 25 February 2021 (UTC)
- @Marleyredd: The statements made in Wikipedia articles must be verifiable by the reader. This is accomplished by adding an inline reference after the statement that tells the reader where the statement can be verified. See Help:Referencing for beginners with citation templates for how to do this. Statements that cannot be verified by the reader should not be included. That means that the research you've done about Frith's life by speaking to family members will need to be removed, unless you can find reliable, independent, verifiable sources. See Wikipedia:No original research.
- Being 'well known' isn't a ticket to having a Wikipedia article about someone. The criteria that apply to this article are WP:ARTIST and WP:NPROF so the article should clearly reflect how Frith meets one or both of those. If Frith's work is included in the permanent collections of several notable galleries or museums then you should add references that allow the reader to verify that. You mention that you've sourced information from gallery pamphlets - those would be considered reliable sources, so you should add a ref tag and provide the name of the pamphlet, who published it, which page his work is written about on, and a date and author if possible.
- Please stick to the verifiable facts - Wikipedia isn't the place to publish your opinion on his life and work, so a phrase like 'His name alone is in full respect' doesn't belong in the article.
- I hope this helps. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 10:20, 25 February 2021 (UTC)

My response to paper.io
Two years ago that was for the deletion discussion. It's not popular now but I guess no one wants history? Also this one isn't the same as the one two years ago.
This originally was a redirect to Voodoo. After the draft got changed since it wasn't notable. The No Redirect version, it was made because I had to add the new references with a new draft. That got declined. It's now a redirect to Draft:Paper.io, which redirects to this. The page had already had a merge, but since then I moved it here. Paper.io 2 was the merge by the way. Paper.io is now a series for this article. Paper.io 2's draft I changed to redirect to the draft paper.io, so it goes here. It's messy, so check the revision history for help. I'm the same dude(I didn't make the paper.io 2 draft). 109.145.122.103 (talk) 14:11, 13 March 2021 (UTC)

How do I get this article up to code then? There is 50 year anniversary book coming out with hundreds of newspaper clippings of history provided by current and previous members. None of this is online anywhere. Do I need to upload all content somewhere and reference in? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thebadnewslive (talk • contribs) 14:32, 18 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Thebadnewslive: References don't need to be online. See Wikipedia:Offline sources and Template:Cite news for how to reference newspapers. ID.me
Hello, and thanks for all your work on Wikipedia. Got a question about the ID.me entry. I originally learned about this company reading newspaper articles during the covid unemployment issue in California. I went to Wikipedia to read more and found the wiki article as it then existed lacking current info. So I did research and added info and supporting links, both positive and negative. (I have wanted to work on Wikipedia and this seemed like a good way to start)
However, I see that "greedochallenger" on March 9 reverted all the edits I made as well as those made by others such as Numbersinstitute, and then put in only positive info about the company. I think much of what "greedochallenger" removed should be replaced, as it helps provide a more complete picture of the company (ie, yes the company uncovered much fraud, but hundreds of thousands of legitimate people had their money frozen for months during a pandemic and could not get through to anyone at the company), but am not sure what the best way is to go forward.
Also, if "greedochallenger" is being paid by the company, is that even allowed? Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thanks. Techguy7214 (talk) 19:39, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Techguy7214: There are some positive improvements that have been introduced, but also some criticism of the system has been taken away, which could be an attempt to whitewash the article. I suggest you access the article's history, view the last version before greedochallenger made their edits, identify the bits that you think were wrongly removed and add them back. If anyone objects, we can start a conversation about any specific statements that are contentious. How does that sound? Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 21:17, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
Sounds like a plan. Thank you. Techguy7214 (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 23:04, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
Ginette Vincendeau wiki page
Hello,
Regarding Ginette Vincendeau's Wiki page, I was wondering why (and I'm not sure it's you, I'm kinda new to this) you cut into the reference section? Because I specifically added references on March 22 in order to address the remarks on top of the page about the single reference. Thank you for your help.
Best wishes, Marion — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marion Hallet (talk • contribs) 12:10, 23 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Marion Hallet: Welcome to Wikipedia. The Wikipedia community has come up with standards for how articles should be laid out. As you'll read at Wikipedia:External links, we do not include external links in the body of the article. Certain types of link can be added to an 'external links' section at the bottom of the article - see WP:ELYES, and there's a list of links not to include - see WP:ELNO. In this case, the link you included was deleted from the body text because it doesn't belong there, and neither would it belong in an external links section because it would come under #13 and #19 of 'links normally to be avoided'. Draft:Loadbalancer.org
Hi Curb Safe Charmer,
Thanks very much for your continued feedback, and guidance on notability. I have added a few more independent references, and changed an existing reference to one more independent of the original press release.
I think you may mistakenly have marked two of our existing references as 'press release'? The Portsmouth News and The Business Magazine are both reputable, independent news outlets – and neither page shows a press release. Any further clarification in this area would be most appreciated.
Thanks. Geesearcher (talk) 15:11, 23 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Geesearcher: this article in businessmag.co.uk is certainly a press release. "Malcolm Turnbull, the company’s founder and managing director said..." is a classic indicator of something that the company's PR person has sent them. There's no journalist attributed as having written the piece, and there's no independent analysis or commentary about the choice of new premises. This one in Portsmouth News is less of a certainty, but again there is no journalist credited for writing the piece - just 'the newsroom' and there's no independent analysis or opinion in the piece. Such announcements don't help establish notability. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 17:32, 23 March 2021 (UTC)
Response to 'the nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Victoria College, Jersey, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic' email
Good afternoon,
Thank you for your email following on from my edits of @Victoria College Jersey.
I work at Victoria College as the Head of Marketing and was correcting the updated fees for the term starting September 2021.
I do not have a 'undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic' on this page, I am purely updating the fees so that they are a true reflection of the admissions process of the school.
I also removed the wording about the school's intake of students come from predominantly white British families, as this is not wholly true. Yes families are predominantly British, but our community has become more multi-racial in the last few years. I am awaiting stats from our admissions team to then update this information.

Thank you.Dusty at Leeds Uni Library (talk) 16:47, 28 March 2021 (UTC)

- @Dusty at Leeds Uni Library: You can edit the sandbox and remove all the content, leaving the sandbox blank. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 07:58, 29 March 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for stepping up taking control and fixing refill. I was following on phab and was going too try if no one else did - but as my day job is dealing with endless software issues I've been avoiding. Getting that fixed will have a major impact on many articles so you deserve a hearty pat on the back. KylieTastic (talk) 22:45, 30 March 2021 (UTC) |
@KylieTastic: thanks, though strictly speaking I haven't fixed anything yet :) The breakthrough was the tool's author reappearing after years of silence. 83.137.254.27 (talk) 06:30, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
