If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Life in Bunker requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://store.steampowered.com/app/401690/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. — Diannaa (talk) 03:02, 29 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Software Inc. moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Software Inc., does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. czar 16:16, 29 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I was wondering if you'd be interested in participating in Wikipedia:WikiProject England/The West Country Challenge in August which includes Gloucestershire. A chance to win £250 as well! The first leg is Bristol. Names are to be added at the bottom of the Bristol page and articles listed. Please also make sure that you add entries you improve/start to the main list on the main page. There will be £10 to win each day for the most points accumulated and then the winner of the county crowned after three days. The overall winner will be decided from the points accumulated from each county round. If you're not interested in winning anything and want to contribute anything you want from the West Country this is fine too though. Best of luck!♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:08, 8 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for violating copyright policy by copying text or images into Wikipedia from another source without verifying permission. You have been previously warned that this is against policy, but have persisted.

Please take this opportunity to be sure you understand our copyright policy and our policies regarding how to use non-free content. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  — Diannaa (talk) 21:21, 10 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Dear Dianna or To whom it may concern, I am writing this to say that I would like to request to be unblocked and if possible like a second chance and apologise for any wrong doing I may have caused, I have created some of the wonderful articles (in my opinion) such as 2015 BRIT Awards, Joris van den Bergh, Gemini Rising, 2 computer game articles on Planetbase and Life in Bunker and others, You see today which I would like to create more of in the months and years ahead. I started several new Gloucestershire articles such as Longney, Epney and Moreton Valence which I created only the day before I started the Wikiproject (See >) and would like to expand the Gloucestershire articles either in the WikiProject: The West county challenge I am currently doing or out of it, I will re-verify every paragraph and link so I can make Wikipedia better either by creating an article or by editing it. D Eaketts (talk) 06:26, 11 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

This does not address the reason for your block. Please explain, in your own words and in a new unblock request:

  • Your understanding of Wikipedia's copyright policy;
  • Why importing text from an arbitrary website harms Wikipedia;
  • The circumstances (if any) when text can be copied from an external source; and
  • How your editing will change in response. MER-C 08:52, 11 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. Request reason:

Dear To whom it may concern, I now understand that I cannot use any piece of information that appears on the internet due to copyright infringement and maybe removed due to it on several articles I have recently have done, Using copyright information on Wikipedia is wrong as Wikipedia could be held responsible for stealing other peoples work and breaking copyright and patent laws. If I do use information from external sources, I now understand that I must put the information into my own words and not just copy it. In future I will be more diligent when writing articles, insuring I only use external sources as references to back up what I have written. D Eaketts (talk) 09:27, 11 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

I am unblocking you, as you demonstrate you have knowledge of our copyright policy and state you intend to follow it in the future. Any further copyright violations will result in you being re-blocked. — Diannaa (talk) 19:00, 11 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Longney

[edit]

The article Longney has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Poorly written article with no indication of significance.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi there. I've started a new initiative, the Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. It's a long term goal to bring about 10,000 article improvements to the UK and Ireland. Through two contests involving just six or seven weeks of editing so far we've produced over 1500 improvements. Long term if we have more people chipping it and adding articles they've edited independently as well from all areas of the UK then reaching that target is all possible. I think it would be an amazing achievement to see 10,000 article improvements by editors chipping in. If you support this and think you might want to contribute towards this long term please sign up in the Contributors section. No obligations, just post work on anything you feel like whenever you want, though try to avoid basic stubs if possible as we're trying to reduce the overall stub count and improve general comprehension and quality. No contest rules apply to this either ;-) Thanks.

I'll update that main list once the West Country challenge is complete though so don't worry about adding your entries for the contest to it!♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:19, 30 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 03:00, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If this would appeal to you and you think you'd be interested in contributing new articles on women during this month for your region or wherever please sign up in the participants section. My suggestion is not to create this article at all. I was waiting to see how you developed it, but my expectation was to submit it for AfD. It is faint and doesn't have much or any published work specific to it. I tend to look the other way if a good article is written about an otherwise non-notable object, but I don't see a whole lot that can be said about this one. There's a new bonus prize of $200 worth of books of your choice to win for creating the most new women biographies between 0:00 on the 26th and 23:59 on 30th November. If you've been contributing to the contest, thank you for your support, we've produced over 2000 articles. Sorry for my quick revert on Holly Willoughby. There's been so much vandalism on the page that pulled the trigger too quickly. Plandu (talk) 21:54, 21 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Plandu:, No worries Plandu, I know there was definitely lots of vandalism on that page which was being reverted alot and definitely should have a page protection on it ASAP. D Eaketts (talk) 21:59, 21 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@67.252.6.84:, Sorry I have been doing so many Vandalism reverts over the last few days and I may have thought it was one. My apologies. D Eaketts (talk) 13:34, 22 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I understand, It is just a pet peeve of mine, there are more people on wiki reverting changes then making them. Almost nothing is getting better any more. Have been casually editing a few articles for over 10 years. Now it is revert revert revert. It is despicably bad how IPs are treated anymore. I had to revert 3 times so far, not one person put a reason for the revert. No cause. Just 100% discrimination. I was sloppy on the refrences, and a bot said that because I am an IP it reverted it. I removed incorrect information, supplied references and got consensus, but because I wrote this as an IP ... 67.252.6.84 (talk) 13:49, 22 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@67.252.6.84:, Perhaps in the future if you like so me and other Wikipedians such as administrators won't make that mistake again about reverting. Have you thought of creating an account?
Have one, only use it when i need to prove I am not a vandal. Wikipedia needs to remain open. Thinking that is the solution shows that you don't even see the problem. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:IPs_are_human_too 67.252.6.84 (talk) 14:09, 22 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@67.252.6.84:, True I will definitely look thoroughly in the future so only IP's that do vandalism will get reverted than others like yours will not. I will also have a look at your link you have provided. Enjoy your day. D Eaketts (talk) 14:17, 22 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Article footers

[edit]

Hi, regarding this edit: per MOS:ORDER, stub templates such as {{SouthWestEngland-railstation-stub}} should be after the categories. Also, you moved the explanatory comment that had been attached to the [[Category:Former Great Western Railway stations]] so that its context was lost and it became meaningless. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 15:12, 15 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Dominion (2015 film) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable film, only sources are blogs, does not meet WP:NF

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi @Davidgoodheart:, I cannot continue editing from this point on as I do not want to be banned from this site as I have done to much over the years @TJRC: and @DanCherek: said above and below I am violating so many rules within WP:COPYWITHIN and these discussions as above and unfortunately due to my new job I will be extremely busy over the Christmas period and will not be editing much as well and if I did I will not be editing any Lists related to deaths or kidnappings until further notice. D Eaketts (talk) 17:03, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again, This request is not a WP:COPYWITHIN. Please make an infobox for this article here Yossele Schumacher affair if you are able to. Davidgoodheart (talk) 20:49, 5 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Correct tense

[edit]

Hi Dean.

It's nice to see you contributing to 2024 in the United Kingdom. But please use the correct tense. For consistency, all entries for the year pages should be written in the present tense. Not the past tense. Basically, they should be written as if the events are unfolding right now and we are observing them on that date.

So, for example...

  • Forty-five protesters were arrested after obstructing a coach moving asylum seekers in Peckham on the way to the Bibby Stockholm.

...should be written as:

  • Forty-five protesters are arrested after obstructing a coach moving asylum seekers in Peckham on the way to the Bibby Stockholm.

Thanks! :) Wjfox2005 (talk) 08:31, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Wjfox2005, Thank you very much and yes I forgot to use the correct tense on this, my mistake. I will remember in the future. D Eaketts (talk) 12:43, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
