Good work!
Congratulations on the biography stubs you've created. If you're looking for more articles from other wikipedias to create I have a list of some here (mostly from the Portuguese Wikipedia). Keep up the good work.--Cattus talk 17:20, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

Giovan Vettorio Soderini
Speedy deletion nomination of Giovan Vettorio Soderini
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
A tag has been placed on Giovan Vettorio Soderini requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about it should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you can assert the importance of the subject, . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
See the guidelines for specific types of articles: biographies, websites, bands, or companies. CaroleHenson (talk) 15:31, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
- Per the comments from you and another, it's good to know that the articles intend to be expanded. My misunderstanding. I just saw a lot of one-line articles on WP:AWBwith no context to show notability. I'm very glad to hear that they'll be expanded to give the reader some idea of who the person is and what they did!
- By the way, I had no idea of your gender.--CaroleHenson (talk) 21:50, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
- Sure, the history of Wikipedia has shown us that all articles are improved soon or later. You can see how the average bytes per article grows year after year. That is a fact. I don't think that my gender is important here. Best regards. emijrp (talk) 23:29, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
- Ah, that's good to know. I thought the comment on my page about "Violence against men" meant that you thought that you were being treated unfairly because you were a man.--CaroleHenson (talk) 06:04, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
- I changed the heading in my talk page (which I rarely do) because I thought it was an editorial comment that you felt victimized - and felt it was off-topic. If I'm understanding you correctly now (reading between the lines), you only added something to my talk page about working on Violence against Men. I wrote about violence against men in Domestic violence in the United States#Incidence of domestic violence and in Outline of domestic violence#Domestic violence against men and LGBT and Outline of domestic violence#Domestic violence against men and LGBT#Domestic violence dynamics between partners--CaroleHenson (talk) 09:10, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
avoiding speedy deletions
Hello.
When you create a new article that says
- Michelangelo Ricci was an Italian mathematician.
without saying why he is notable, you risk having the article speedily deleted on the grounds that it lacks an assertion of notability. If you say
- Michelangelo Ricci was an Italian mathematician who discovered a theorem that says.....
or something like that, then you avoid that danger. Michael Hardy (talk) 03:51, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
- Wholeheartedly agree!--CaroleHenson (talk) 06:03, 6 January 2012 (UTC)

Hi. When you recently edited Francoist concentration camps, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Valencia (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Re:User:Emijrp/Systemic_bias/Contemporary_bias
"If we use that level of notability and completeness, from year 1 to year 2000 we would have 9000 * 2000 = 18,000,000 biographies. Currently we have only 728,971 biographies (4.05% of 18M)." - note that it is bad comparison, as population of world is increasing Bulwersator (talk) 12:26, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
- I think you are right (I'm not sure yet why I made that obvious error). We need to choose a notablity ratio. Looking at 1801-1900 years, in the lower ratio (right colum) we have 102.25 (~100) notable biographies per million people. In that case, there are 40,000 notable biographies of people from year 1 to 100 (and we currently only have 133). OK 40,000 >>> 133, but I guess that a lot of knowledge has been lost a long the ages. I think that in the 1st century there were a lot of singers, actors (theatre), athletes (Ancient Olympic Games are from 776 BC), etc, that today are utterly forgotten (due to lack or lost/destroyed sources). emijrp (talk) 12:46, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
- I agree in part, but your count is wrong because you only counted articles in categories by year. For the 1st century births, 70 biographies are in the parent category because exact date of birth is not known for those people. Additional 11 are in categories by decade.
- As for the idea of completeness itself, I think a twofold reduction in notability ratio has to be taken into account. Apart from the smaller population, it was considerably more difficult to create records in those days. On average, only the most prominent individuals merited their deeds cast in stone (literally). So the same proportion of notable biographies cannot be realistically expected even to begin with, much less preserved until today. — Yerpo Eh? 10:49, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

- Thanks man! Very cool presentation about Wikipedia coverage. I have added it to my subpage. emijrp (talk) 20:28, 25 January 2012 (UTC)
The article Antonio Damirón has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- non-notable person, coverage in the Spanish Wikipedia article is unsourced, can't find sources independent of subject to prove notability.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Mrmatiko (talk) 15:36, 28 January 2012 (UTC)

Rankings of areas of knowledge in Wikipedia
How do the various areas of knowledge rank—(1) in quality of information, and (2) in quantity of information—in Wikipedia articles? I am seeking more-precise information than what is provided at Wikipedia:Systemic bias. This two-part question can be answered according to any (one or more) of these classifications.

—Wavelength (talk) 16:36, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
- To assess quality you can use the WikiProject templates rates (class-A, B, etc.), to assess quantity first you need to compile comprehensive lists of all the possible articles and then count red links. That's why I started User:Emijrp/All human knowledge. I think that quality is not possible without quantity. emijrp (talk) 12:35, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Thai Film Archive
A tag has been placed on Thai Film Archive, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing no content to the reader. Please note that external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article don't count as content. Moreover, please add more verifiable sources, not only 3rd party sources. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}
) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Notability of your articles
Most of your articles do not assert their notability and thus classify for deletion discussion. I know most if not all of them are notable, as I can follow the links to pl wiki, but please, to avoid wasting time of other editors who may nom the article for deletion, add a sentence explaining why this person is notable when you create an article. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk to me 19:51, 2 May 2012 (UTC)
- I don't understand why you nom them for deletion when you say all are notable. emijrp (talk) 20:04, 2 May 2012 (UTC)
- Because too many sportsmen are not notable on en wiki, even if they have an article on pl wiki. While I can accept most others in good faith, those, I cannot. Anyway, you have not replied to my primary request. Either one, in fact, as I see you are still creating new articles without adding talk page template. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk to me 21:06, 2 May 2012 (UTC)
- Adding talk page template is not mandatory. emijrp (talk) 05:52, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
- No. But even if you don't care that you are thus making somebody else do it, thus wasting their time on finishing what you've started, there is the issue that lack of template prevents notification of deletion for associated WikiProjects, thus making it much more likely that your articles will be deleted. And currently most of them are ripe for that. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk to me 16:12, 4 May 2012 (UTC)
- Adding talk page template is not mandatory. emijrp (talk) 05:52, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
- I don't waste the time of other people, they are not obligated to add the templates to talk pages if they don't want. The only individuals who are wasting valuable time and effort are you opening deletion discussions and those who are going to vote to delete notable articles. Because the articles will be re-created in the future again by others. It is the Wikipedia nature. emijrp (talk) 16:26, 4 May 2012 (UTC)

Please stop unconstructive editing to Wikipedia. The one-sentence translations you are doing are not helpful--they cause more problems than they solve, for they either must be removed or other people must add to the contents. If you continue, this may well lead to a block from editing--we have enough of these to deal with already without your adding more of them. DGG ( talk ) 04:17, 5 May 2012 (UTC)

- I too have also noticed that you have created 1,500 one sentence stubs this past week. Just to let you know, blocks have been handed out and it has been discussed many, many times before. The vast majority of editors believe this is wrong. There already is an AdD to delete some of your pages. They are not useful to anyone and I've already spent many hours doing talk pages for them. It appears you do not understand Polish as you have been adding incorrect categories and descriptions to the pages. I highly suggest you stop before this gets worse. Telling people to leave you alone is not helping. I'm know I'm the third editor to beg you to stop and won't be the last. - (I may dig up some links later--it's in the AN/I archives, no doubt.) I see that you've been making stubs like Church of San Nicolás (Soria), and those are fine with me (I can't speak for Bgwhite or DGG) though it is really the absolute minimum. Barring, for the moment, the links, let me reiterate and agree with what DGG said: the mass creation of unreferenced stubs is highly disruptive and will lead to a block. I hope it will not go that far. FYI, it is entirely possible that other editors and admins disagree with me: DGG and I tend to fall on the "liberal" end of the scale when it comes to article creation, and we certainly don't speak for everyone--but I will not hesitate to block if this gets out of hand. Other, for instance, might not think that one single link to a database counts as properly sourced. Thank you, Drmies (talk) 15:06, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
- Just to reiterate what's above - that kind of article creation, as well as your attitude when someone brings it your attention, are not needed on here, and they will not be tolerated. GiantSnowman 13:04, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
- This is the eternal inclusionism vs deletionism debate. I don't want my talk page is converted into an arena for that debate. So, if you have further comments, go to AN/I or open deletion discussions, and you will veriy that all the topics I created are notable. I'm still waiting for that stub deletion and creators blocking discussions archives. emijrp (talk) 13:10, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
Meanwhile I'm doing all the work to save them.. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 13:20, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
Don't be discouraged. I know that the biographies you started are all mostly very notable. But you have to expect repercussions if you rapid fire stubs like I had. And AFDs and times of saving articles.. I'd say in biographies its more problematic because unlike a mountain or river or something a person needs some assertion as to who they were, even if the content is already there for the taking. I've said all along if me could get a bot to autogenerate articles from other wikis it would be a massive help but the problem is that google translate is not perfect and it would create a massive log of articles needing sorting out. At some point some manual editor is going to have to do the hard work on them. Your Spanish historic landmarks articles on the contrary provide a firm basis to build upon and are very useful even if stubby. I had a discussion with Aymatth2 and DGG a while back and we agreed that its best to create articles with one fact and source bare minimum. With the footballers:
Boris Arkadyev (Бори́с Андре́евич Арка́дьев) (1899–1986) was a Russian footballer and a coach. Clubs include Metallurg Moscow (1937–1939), Dinamo Moscow (1940–1944), CDSA Moscow (1944–1952), Lokomotiv Moscow (1953–1957 and 1963–1965), CSK MO Moscow (1958–1959), Neftyanık Baku (1961–1962), Paxtakor Tashkent (1967), Neftyanik Fergana (1968) and FC Shinnik Yaroslavl (1969).Source
That would be a great stub.♦ Dr. Blofeld 13:56, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
- Here's the reason why it is non-constructive:
If you are making the entries at all, you must have a source for them at hand; I doubt you're doing them from memory. Even if you're just taking them from another WP, you at least have the article open and have some idea how to read the language. This puts you in a good position to write a decent paragraph & put in the reference. if it's from, say, the ruWP, and the source is, as it generally will be, in Russian, you can still just copy it over as it stands there. It will be easier for you to do them at once than for others to do them later.
so what you are doing, to save yourself transcribing a few lines, you're making other people first do the research and then do the lines--and it will often be a subject where relatively few other people can do it. So this puts an extreme burden on people like Dr B and myself, who want content, know how to get it, and can decipher a number of common languages. What you can do in an hour, would take us a day and there are not enough of us to go around cleaning up after you.
As I librarian, I expect to teach the freshman how to find a book on the shelves of my library; I expect the senior to have learned already, When it's something hard to find, the seniors will still need to ask me, but I have the time for them, because someone taught them the basics when they were Freshmen. If there's something difficult for you to do, I will gladly do it, but such basic stuff as this, I know perfectly well you have the ability to do it better than I can, for you are apt to be more familiar with both the subject and the language.
If you go on in this manner, you are inviting us to make a rule to stop you. It will be difficult to craft a rule without keeping out the newcomers. That's even more important, so I;'ll never support doing it.
But for someone doing a lot of it, then it becomes disruptive. And sub-par but borderline sort of work if done in large quantities is too much trouble to fix, and becomes disruptive. As Dr. Johnson put it in 1772, "any sin if persisted in will become heinous" DGG ( talk ) 18:26, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
I'm disappointed Emirj that you've shown none of us any respect over this by refusing to discuss the articles. You have a great potential as an editor.♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:43, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
- To add my 2 cents... Emilio, I respect your work on Wikipedia in general and I still think that you're an asset for this project, but please be reasonable and don't alienate people that disagree with some part of what you do by refusing to discuss. The point is not whether people that you created pages about are notable at all or not - the reasons in deletion proposals are slightly misleading, because "notability" has a very specific and widely recognizable meaning in Wikipedia. Their main message is that there is no indication of notability, so this is actually not an inclusionism vs deletionism debate. The point is, that a page "John Doe is an [insert nation] [insert occupation]" is not a stub, nor is it an encyclopedic article. It may be marginally useful for the interwiki links, but for a visitor that doesn't understand anything but English, it is useless. Therefore, it needs a significant amount of work just to become a stub useful as a framework for further expansion. As Dr. Blofeld pud it, you create a significant amount of work for other people multiplied many-fold by semiautomatically creating pages with no real content. Because those subjects aren't generally known to English editors, there is a very limited number of editors with knowledge and time to transform them into stubs. In other words, your capacity of creating non-articles by far exceeds the capacity of the Wikipedia community of transforming them into something useful. Therefore, there is a proliferation of content with informational value close to zero that inflates article count without doing much else. In this regard, I agree very much with other people that posted here.
- So again, please understand that we all have the same intention - building an encyclopedia and nobody will not think less of you if you accept constructive suggestions about your work, even if you disagree with them. On the contrary. Regards, — Yerpo Eh? 08:00, 8 May 2012 (UTC)

sk:List of Wikipedians by number of edits – edit war with iw. bot
Hi Emijrp! Just one small issue regarding your great tool. Your bot seems to be replacing whole page content, based on a template, containing some frozen snapshot of interwiki links. This causes interwiki bots to update the page over-and-over each day after your edit (your edit, iw. bot edit, history). Speedy deletion nomination of Bruno Pradal
You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.
Thank you.
A tag has been placed on Bruno Pradal, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article that does not provide sufficient context to identify its subject. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Click here to contest this speedy deletion which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}
) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Del♉sion23 (talk) 16:35, 5 June 2012 (UTC)

wmcharts revert chart updating
I notice that wmcharts haven't been updated since the 21st of June. I am new to them so I don't really know how it works. Do you just update them periodically? The reason I ask is that there has been a noticeable drop in the hit rate (reverts per edit looked at) of STiki recently. I think this is just because there are some new, very active editors. But I'd like to check the reverts chart to see if total number of reverts has gone up or down. Thanks Yaris678 (talk) 19:03, 3 July 2012 (UTC)

Your recent editing history at User talk:Lihaas shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. SudoGhost 17:02, 6 July 2012 (UTC)

Creating pages/Expand Spanish. Hi, Eimjrp, Eduardo López Rivas page is part of a complete research proyect that included several pages. It´s important to make them all in English. Otherwise is not worth because there are not good links. I would like to expand them if you are prepared to open the pages in the same way you did with López Rivas. I don´t know how to do it. Could you do that? We could start with an easy short one, "Teresa López Bustamante". Would it be possible? Best, Isa.
- You don't need to request pages being opened, just create them. Write the title between brackets and follow the red link (Teresa López Bustamante) or write the title in the search box (right above) and start to write. For your example, you can translate the Spanish text. Regards. emijrp (talk) 07:55, 5 September 2012 (UTC)

Hi Emijrp. I noticed the article Eddy Meeùs which is only linked from Compagnie des Alpes. It's an extremely short article and I doubt its usefulness like this, so I would like to have it either expanded or deleted. - A few of the monuments appear to be in the middle of the sea on the map, i.e. the location is clearly incorrect, even though the coordinates are correct. Are you aware of any issues like that? What could be the cause? An example is the monument 4-4000-004 on the Israeli map.
- It appears that the upload link on the map sends the coordinates to Commons but not the description (please correct me if I'm wrong). Is there a way to also make it send a description?
Thanks in advance, —Ynhockey (Talk) 10:28, 10 September 2012 (UTC)
- Hi! The monuments in the sea were bad coordinates and looks like someone fixed them. About the descriptions I can't do much, perhaps a bot may copy the descriptions using the monument ID? Regards! emijrp (talk) 17:58, 11 September 2012 (UTC)

- Thanks for the notice. Can you add it to the AHK page? emijrp (talk) 08:25, 29 September 2012 (UTC)
- I prefer to avoid editing in the user space of other editors, except their talk pages, and in this case, you are more familiar with the layout of that page. (By the way, for several months I have thought of suggesting that you either copy it or move it to "Wikipedia:All human knowledge". It can have the shortcut "WP:AHK".)

Graph of revert data
This graph looks interesting but it is out of date (and I have to assume it is 2012). Are you able to create a graph of this type where the user can put in their own time frame? Cheers. -- Alan Liefting (talk - contribs) 07:17, 3 October 2012 (UTC)
