Spam in Muse of Fire[edit]

Information icon.svg

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Muse of Fire, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Muse of Fire is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Muse of Fire, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 03:50, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

I declined to speedily delete this article; I don't think the tone was promotional, and Simmons won a Hugo, so it's plausible that this novella has notability. But I'm not the expert. You might want to post a message on the talk page at WP:NOVEL or WP:SCIFI for help in establishing notability for science fiction; your article could still be sent to WP:Articles for deletion if it doesn't meet notability requirements. - Dan Dank55 (push to talk) 04:12, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for your efforts[edit]

Hi Geracudd, I've noticed your very positive improvements to a wide variety of articles, including one that I've also edited. Good work, and thank you! I would ask only that when making such edits that you also include a very brief description of what you are doing in the edit summary to let others know what your edit is doing; usually a few brief words are all that are needed, such as "spell. corr." (spelling correction). Thanks again for your very helpful efforts. Best: HarryZilber (talk) 14:01, 27 March 2013 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Dean Blunt[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Dean Blunt has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unotable musician

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Speedy deletion nomination of Dean Blunt[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Dean Blunt requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. • disambiguates no (zero) extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Rename category[edit]

Please see my proposal to speedily rename Category:20th-century Georgian painters to Category:20th-century painters from Georgia (country) Hugo999 (talk) 20:40, 22 January 2016 (UTC)

I don't care if you rename the category, but I don't understand your reasoning. The norm for such categories seems to be to use the demonym.--MainlyTwelve (talk) 21:39, 22 January 2016 (UTC)

Norway News, tagging for delition[edit]

You have just tagged Norway News for deletion, because it seems to be promotional. I can not see it is. Norway News is a non-commercial newssite, whose purpose is to inform non-Norwegian speaking readers about news in Norway. It is commercially as well as politically and religiously independent short version of Norwegian news. The editorial content does not promote anything, and the reson for publishing is, as one of the few, to convey Norwegian news out to a wider audience in English. What makes this online newspaper promotional? If you have not added too much prestige in this, and deletion is not too speedy, I urge you to take away tagging a.s.a.p.(talk) 18:18, 15 March 2016 (CET)

Randall Lesaffer[edit]

Dear Mainly Twelve, A few minutes after I finished the article, you added already observations, which are rather an enigma to me. Your two remarks are:

1) "This article may require copy editing for grammar, style, cohesion, tone, or spelling". It would be interesting to know where you have criticisms regarding grammar, style, cohesion, tone or spelling of this article. I am not aware of any.

2)"This article is in a list format that may be better presented using prose". Either I do not understand what you mean, or you are referring to the few lines of activities of Lesaffer placed one after an another. In my view this makes it much more readable than if this would be written "in prose" as you put it.

I am not used to such a treatment, so I am much interested to have information about this. Andries Van den Abeele (talk) 19:54, 21 April 2016 (UTC)

There are various small problems, including spaces between your references, and the way you formatted his date of birth (which I fixed, I understand that you formatted as is the custom in French, and, perhaps, German). The second issue you raised is in reference to the section you mentioned. Chalk it up to a difference in opinions, but I think it would be better rendered in prose. Feel free to keep it as is, I won't change it.--MainlyTwelve (talk) 19:58, 21 April 2016 (UTC)

I made changes to the references. And small other things. I hope you can now take away the warning. best regards, Andries Van den Abeele (talk) 07:31, 22 April 2016 (UTC)

I made the change, thank you for letting me know.--MainlyTwelve (talk) 20:47, 22 April 2016 (UTC)

Not meant[edit]

Hey MainlyTwelve, Thanks for letting me know my mistake on Lemino's page, But I did not make as any type of product, He is a famous youtuber so I wanted to make a page about him, I searched for him, did not find a page so I wrote what I know, before I created the page myself I wanted to read about him, and did not find a page about him, for example Pewdiepie is a famous youtuber, and has a wikipedia page, same with vanossgaming, and diamondminecart, so in conclusion, I did not mean anything wrong

Thanks, badramgad

I am sorry for perhaps tagging your page a little early. I hope you continue to contribute to Wikipedia. Please let me know if I can help you in any way.--MainlyTwelve (talk) 20:48, 22 April 2016 (UTC)

DYK for Sixth borough[edit]

Updated DYK query.svg On 25 July 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Sixth borough, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that a proposed sixth borough in New York City has been referred to as "LoLo" and "Frankenborough"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Sixth borough. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Sixth borough), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

A cup of coffee for you![edit]

Cup-o-coffee-simple.svg Thanks for coming to the meetup last night. You said you were interested in architecture. Here are some architecture-related wiki-projects in the area -
  • Wikipedia:Wikiproject Women Wikipedia Design has hosted several architecture themed events, and probably would do more in NYC
  • the partnership with Open House New York continues this year with a photo event described at Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/CommonsLab
  • the Met Breuer has invited Wikipedians to their location to review architectural design archives related to their building and others. We have not identified an architect to talk this through with them to materialize the event
  • As you might imagine, the wiki community wants to map every notable point of interest on live maps in wiki. See mw:Extension:Kartographer for a demo of the mapping tool. This will facilitate any user finding the connection between Wikipedia articles on buildings and any geographical area.

It is nice to meet a really experienced Wikipedian like you at the meetups, and I hope that you can stay in touch. I looked for you at the break but you and your friend had already left. Take care. Blue Rasberry (talk) 19:28, 18 August 2016 (UTC)

Africa Destubathon[edit]

Hi, thanks for your work so far! Can you do me a favour though and always add every entry you do to the main list here as well as the entries page, regardless if yet approved or not as that's the master list of all articles being done. It's just veyr time consuming for me to be judging the articles, trying to contribute myself and chasing up what people have done and filling it out for people each time. So if you can take care of that this would be a great help, there's some part filled out ones underneath so you just need to add country, article name and then you username. Thanks.♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:46, 17 October 2016 (UTC)

Absolutely, no problem.--MainlyTwelve (talk) 17:57, 17 October 2016 (UTC)
