G-20 major economies proofread

Hello to you. I was wondering, since I have seen your edits on this subject, if you can help me edit it to current info (especially with the 2012 IMF data), which came out back in October 2012. Thanks. Rockies77 (talk) 08:56, 2 January 2013 (UTC)

Sure, I'll see what I can do. — Michaelmas1957 (talk) 09:41, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
There – added IMF sources and updated all PPP figures for the member countries. Let me know if you need any more help. — Michaelmas1957 (talk) 22:35, 2 January 2013 (UTC)

Hello to you again. The April 2013 IMF data is out now, with final 2012 figures in it. Sorry to bother you about this. I could do it myself anyway. Rockies77 (talk) 06:47, 17 April 2013 (UTC)

I'll get onto it in a little while – thanks for the heads-up. – Michaelmas1957 (talk) 15:51, 17 April 2013 (UTC)
There, all updated. – Michaelmas1957 (talk) 00:32, 18 April 2013 (UTC)

Dragon (spacecraft) GAN

Your nomination of Dragon (spacecraft) is on hold barring improvements.--Gilderien Chat|List of good deeds 18:24, 2 January 2013 (UTC)

I'm sorry but after one week I will have to fail it.--Gilderien Chat|List of good deeds 22:16, 10 January 2013 (UTC)

Fair enough; I'll do some more work on it later and then re-nominate it. — Michaelmas1957 (talk) 22:19, 10 January 2013 (UTC)

Sikkim

Hi Michaelmas. I note that you have a particular interest in the Sikkim article. The article used to be a Featured article, but was delisted a few years ago. However, it is not far off being a Good article, although it needs a bit of work. Some of the passages are uncited, wikilinks need checking, the image layout needs to comply with the Manual of Style, and there are minor grammatical errors that need fixing. I know you are busy on another article about a spacecraft at the moment, but do you fancy a joint effort to get this one up to standard at some time over the next couple of months? Skinsmoke (talk) 21:06, 10 January 2013 (UTC)

That sounds like a good idea - already the Sikkim article is a fair bit better than it used to be. Keep working on it, and I'll happily help out when I can. — Michaelmas1957 (talk) 21:32, 10 January 2013 (UTC)
OK. Will have a go at it over the next few weeks. Feel free to have a shot when you can. Skinsmoke (talk) 18:37, 11 January 2013 (UTC)

References at Allium tricoccum

I agree that the references at Allium tricoccum were very confused as to the style used for dates, but you haven't really improved the situation in your last edit. Please review MOS:DATES, noting in particular "Access and archive dates in references should all have the same format – either the format used for publication dates, or YYYY-MM-DD." The majority of references in the article already used the ISO format for access dates, so you shouldn't change this, just make the two kinds of date consistent. Peter coxhead (talk) 10:29, 17 February 2013 (UTC)

Fair enough, I'll try and sync all the dates in the article to a similar format. – Michaelmas1957 (talk) 10:40, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
It's ok, I'm working on it now, including improving the format of the citations. Peter coxhead (talk) 11:15, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
I've also done some cite improvements per your suggestions. – Michaelmas1957 (talk) 11:19, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
Well, it looks a lot better now! If you have time you might investigate a link for the Cosby Ramp Festival. The URL originally given, http://www.cosbyrampfestival.org, now goes to a Chinese language site which looks risky to leave visible, even as a dead link. Hi, regarding your review at Template:Did you know nominations/Jassem Alwan... you wrote "Good to go", but would you please add the icon "" {{subst:DYKtick}} – that kind of makes it "official", and the bot which keeps track of the number of approved hooks requires the icon to do its job. HI, I notice you've added a multitude of scientific events to the 2013 article. There is a 2013 in science article for these entries. As per WP:RY: "Since so many events happen in a year, not all events will be notable enough to merit inclusion on the page. Such events may be better placed on a subpage." Most, if not all, of your additions fall into this category. The fact that they have not already been added should indicate that they were/are not notable enough for inclusion. Cheers, DerbyCountyinNZ (Talk Contribs) 22:19, 11 July 2013 (UTC)

Remove them if you think they aren't notable enough. I still intend to clean the article up, though I'm mostly finished now. – Michaelmas1957 (talk) 22:26, 11 July 2013 (UTC)

Article Improvements for The Shard

Hi, my name is Bennett Golder, and I work for Weber Shandwick on behalf of The Shard. I'm looking to engage the Wikipedia community to improve the accuracy of The Shard's Wikipedia entry. I'm quite new at engaging with Wikipedia, but am hoping that my article suggestions will be seen as completely open, honest and transparent, and I'll be following Wikipedia's guidelines for how PRs should engage with Wikipedia. I've advised our client that engaging editors via the Talk page for their Wikipedia entry is the best way to do this to avoid violating the Wikipedia COI.

I see that you've been quite engaged with maintaining accuracy for The Shard's Wikipedia entry and was wondering if you'd be willing to take a look at the Article Improvements I've submitted to the Talk page? Do feel free to have a look and let me know what you think.

I look forward to working with you! -BG — Preceding unsigned comment added by Btgolder (talkcontribs) 16:24, 29 July 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for getting in touch. I'll have a look at your proposals shortly. – Michaelmas1957 (talk) 01:44, 30 July 2013 (UTC)

Hi Michaelmas1957 - just wanted to drop you a line and let you know that I've made a couple of comments on the talk page of The Shard, responding to a query about the height of the building, but also requesting some changes be made to the official number of storeys in the building (95 storeys as opposed to 87). If you could have a look sometime I'd appreciate it. Many thanks! -Bennett --Btgolder (talk) 11:44, 16 August 2013 (UTC)

Your addition regarding an extra 60 vs. 460 trillion subtotal USD has/is having an slowburn edit war ...

*Scientists warn that a massive release of methane from melting Arctic ice could cause significant global disruption, potentially costing the world economy an extra US$ 60 trillion (to US$400 trillion from the effects of global warming and climate change). The full impact of climate change in the Arctic, including for example, ocean acidification and altered ocean and atmospheric circulation, will be much greater per the studie's cost estimate for methane release alone.(Nature)(The Independent)(New Scientist)

I'd say drop the New Scientist Fred Pearce reference, but keep the detail from the original source (Nature (journal)) of $460 trillion plus in loss, regarding economics of global warming/economics of climate change mitigation; climate change mitigation & climate change adaptation etc ..

My concern is accuracy in Wikinews, and avoiding global warming controversy/climate change denial.

99.181.128.67 (talk) 00:58, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I don't think I added the $400 trillion statistic, only the 60 tr. one – if you think the New Scientist ref is not fitting, feel free to remove it. – Michaelmas1957 (talk) 01:52, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
You are aware, of course, that this editor has been blocked for some time. See, for example, User:Arthur Rubin/IP list. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 02:02, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
