File source problem with File:SutiyaWarrior.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:SutiyaWarrior.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.
If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. File permission problem with File:SutiyaWarrior.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:SutiyaWarrior.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:31, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.
Thank you.
A tag has been placed on Institute of Advanced Study in Science & Technology (IASST), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an acceptable page. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item G11, as well as the guidelines on spam.
If you can indicate why the subject of this page is not blatant advertising, . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. You are welcome to edit the page to fix this problem, but please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. As well as removing promotional phrasing, it helps to add factual encyclopaedic information to the page, and add citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the page will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Finnusertop (talk | guestbook | contribs) 21:45, 14 September 2015 (UTC)
Your contributed article, Sutiya (surname)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Sutiya (surname). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Sutiya people. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Sutiya people – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.
If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Peppy Paneer (talk) 17:34, 1 October 2015 (UTC)

Barua
[edit]While your repetitive attempts to revise the article is appreciated, and in fact when substantiated, your remarks have been incorporated, please understand the articles are written from a global perspective. Rude / abusive remarks maligning / targeting a sect is never appreciable!
When I review your edit history your remarks stating 'stupid manipulative techniques' is derogatory in nature! It is reasonable enough to get into a debate and express displeasure in a way other editors have, however, not at the cost of irresponsible behaviour! When write-ups are comprehended, try to analyse how a piece of information would be absorbed elsewhere in the world.
Your following arguments:
Why ‘Arora’ is mentioned in the Article?
- Why not?
- The idea is to establish an unequivocal insistence that 'Barua' surname has a significant role in identifying someone as Asamiya (irrespective of what sub-group one belongs to), much like Aroras in Punjab.
Arora is also a surname and surname family alike. Because Punjabi community (or rather Aroras) is quite a populous and widespread group worldwide, for someone who isn’t aware of Assam (not be confused with someone from India, but rather reference is to a foreign national), it is more likely that the person would be able to relate to the insistence on identity easily!
- There’s no harm in providing a few pointers for readers for relatedness! Just by a mere mention of the word, the gravitas of the article is neither challenged nor compromised!
Why inclusion of Info box resisted?
- As you agree, and we all know that the mixed demographics of Assam makes it a very unique region, a surname, such as this is present among the heterogeneous Assamese society. Then why the world readers should be deprived of reference to related write-ups? The info-box points to all associated groups! How is any Ahom / Sutiya sentiment hurt? I have removed the photos, as photo gallery no longer conforms to Wiki Standards however, if it had been permitted, you would've been welcomed to include photos of people representing any community! If you didn’t have legitimate photo, what right have you got to remove the ones already included? Would anyone contest if you were to include a Sutiya Barua to the gallery, no one else would and I wouldn't either! But the thing is, it appeared, that those which were included were scrapped just because of ignorant hatred towards a community!
- Well, the ones included were not just mere personalities but people of national importance.
- These talents didn’t manipulate anyone to achieve the level of importance, they’ve progressed based on merit, like anyone else would!
- Isn’t RG Baruah’s contribution significant enough to modern Assam?
- He was honoured with National Postage Stamp, Modi had come to GAU to celebrate Platinum Jubilee celebrations of Assam Tribune! Can any entrepreneur be named from Assam who has the spark like RG did at that time? And does anyone think Assam Tribune Trade Union only includes Brahmins? In fact Brahmins aren’t many in Assam and owing to quota system, they would need to score much more than others in order to secure a position of someone of a lower calibre based on merit! Isn't that unfair?
- I am not contesting anything; but please note that people were included based on merit.
- If you have 10 names, include them on the list, no would question that either but having a shallow mentality to exclude who deserves isn’t great either!
- Pratima Baruah Pandey – was she just a wandering singer?
- Debo Prasad Barooah – just an ordinary litterateur? Telegrah Calcutta, GAU University aren’t blind!
Promoting Brahminism?
- Brahmins aren’t plenty like Ahoms or others, but haven’t they been able to leave positive remarks on national / regional scale?
- If Laxminath didn’t contribute to Assamese literature, would the language itself have progressed so far…?
- Wouldn’t it have struggled to survive under British regime? Most likely it would’ve gone extinct being a victim of Bengali by now!
- He didn’t earn Sahityarathi just by fluke!
- Today we are contesting to have a Unicode slot. Who takes that initiative – Muktikam Phukan – a Brahmin!
- Do you think it’s right to say manipulative?
- Genes of merit can’t be challenged based on communal remarks!
- Just merit which deserves its due recognition!
Brahmins benefitted through caste system!
- That’s what you perceive!
- We were not taught to call a community beneficiary! That’s a progressive culture!
- Brahmins are so tolerant that someone’s inner hatred, quota system; communal remarks haven't distorted their positive spirit running in their minds.
- People progress on merit, exceptional intelligence and business acumen, irrespective of the community that one may belong to!
- And what caste system did you try to highlight?
- Isn’t South and North India fragmented on that?
- How is reference to Assam is of any significance? Well, if someone says it was in Assam too, well, then that person is sadly mistaken!
- If you do, please get a reality check!
- Brahmins of the valley have been so polite and gentle that nothing has been opposed by them at all! People happily worship saints and participate in any regional affairs alike.
- Culture speaks for itself! Spurring hatred doesn’t help!
- I won't speak for elsewhere, only Assam! The fact that Brahmins are tolerant and much more civilised, you have the arrogance to promote negative remarks, no questions asked!
Some Brahmin centric facts (not to promote or demote anything, just to clarify things):
- Sutiyas ruled Assam! Brahmins came much later after Ahoms took over their ruling dynasty. Brahmins never had privileges as a migrant!
- The migrant community who came upon invitation, produced so many talents - should it be a disturbing fact to anyone? In fact they should be credited!
- Brahmins were just priests believing in power of knowledge, and were not rulers; Ahoms and Sutiyas were!
- Rulers are generally perceived as manipulative, deceiving, tyrant, aggressive and arrogant. Then who were manipulative? And if they were, does that mean we tag them now? I can also come up with such remarks, but I choose not to, as no one from a cultured upbringing would!
- Idea is not to win over anyone but to help you with some clear vision when you malign a community from this region of Assam!
Couple of more pointers:
- Till date only one actress had won national film award from Assam!
- Is anyone feeling ashamed just because Moloya Goswami is a Brahmin!
- 2 Jnanpith Award Winner – Birendra Kumar Bhattacharya, Mamoni Raisam
- Only one Bharat Ratna Winner – Gopinath Bordoloi – Brahmin again!
- Have they not brought recognition to Assam? Then why was that beneficiary remark!?
- Bhupen Hazarika had won Padma Vibhushan (the second highest honour), and I am proud of that as well! If there's a write-up on Hazarika, and if I were to be allowed, I would happily include his photos as well, and would emphasise the fact that he is a great Kalita. No one can question that either!
- The question is whether we have the right perspective!
- And do you not think, considering the achievements, the recognition is far too less within our own state? But Brahmins have never questioned, they have shown resilience to regressive remarks and moved on with their lives…
Sutiyas were in Assam much before we knew about Assam, and Ahoms occupied later, but alas, we are to be blamed!
What did Brahmins do? Well, just contributed to this wonderful society like Ahoms, Kalitas and you did! Not by being rulers, but by adopting and contributing to the local society. But we are bestowed with baseless arrogance!
Have a read through my commentary again, no rudeness is evident, just some clarifications.
Now, if they’re variations in ‘Barua’ surname, a reader from an outside world should be able to draw distinctions on how differently the surname runs through different groups. No part of the article has praised or degraded anyone or any group. Words like ‘less likely’, ‘more common’ bring perspective and give meaning to the sentence. So read twice before deleting things!
Lastly, stop regressive remarks – that’s not a sign of a progressive, cultured society that we all are proud of! Quibitos (talk) 21:26, 21 April 2016 (UTC)
Bhupen Hazarika - Kalita?
[edit]After going through my commentary, only thing you could pick up was Bhupen Hazarika's linking as Kalita? Please make an effort to extend some literary courtesy! Do you not even realise the tone of the write-up at all?
"Please have proper information about what you're writing" - Is this how you think people should expect your remarks!? And that is too at a page where there hasn't been any discussion about it!
Clearly, when I typed, I didn't have resources handy, so it will be obvious for anyone or me not to be precise in one or two aspects however, that doesn't warrant you to conclude that things were improper. Nothing has been deviated from facts, in fact whatever I have communicated to anyone or you so far, has been based on best of my knowledge and understanding (and I vouch that's genuine and not to defame or take pot-shots at anyone!). I am entitled for concession like anyone else would for not being precise on one aspect given the circumstances.
The thing is, where I have tried to substantiate my every remark with proper reasoning, you seem to be sitting across the fence throwing random ideas without even holding a proper argument! This is not Arnab's news show that just because you're opinionated you prefer to be entertained every moment without establishing any legitimacy of that opinion! Sorry, I had to mention Arnab as that's how I perceive his show. He is an Assamese Brahmin too, but that doesn't mean I blow my trumpet to favour his news debate!
There's something known as 'constructive criticism' which a writer appreciates, but shallow, frivolous remarks will be condemned! You would do that too!
Now coming to your specific concern (not sure whether it was your concern or just to nag at me), isn't Kalita also a recognition of someone's alignment to panentheistic branch of Hinduism? What's wrong with that?
Just for the sake of opposing, please don't quibble over trivial matters! He isn't an Ahom, so least you could then say that he is probably Kaibarta (he could be, and I think so, although I'm not a journalist who had followed him through his lifetime and may be wrong), but the point here is to credit and appreciate anyone irrespective of one's social classification!
Unfortunately, you missed it, even though I tried to comprehend the write-up in simplest of terms! I feel sorry, but if someone's or your school of thought inflames aggressive sentiments because of someone else's recognition, then please be assured that school of thought is malignant!
I say please, again, as humility is way forward (and that's what we will be known for) than arrogant rants about others (that you seem to exhibit repeatedly unfortunately!)
And lastly, as I began saying that your revisions were appreciated, I assure that anyone or I would continue to thank for your contributions for as many articles that your enrich with facts and resources however, not at the cost of demoting anything or anyone without proper reasoning. Contribute to many Assam related articles, insert links, make corrections (grammar, spellings, facts, assamese language inserts, where possible or even otherwise) but in a way that enriches and projects the community as a whole to the best of its reputation! My perspective is international, as based in Europe, yours I am unsure, but I believe, in spite of differences, the idea is to educate people. There're plenty of Assam / Asamiya related articles with forceful inclusion of Bengali / Bengali language without established facts. Try to contest that constructively, as we need vigilant people like you and me to contribute as much as we can! We are less in numbers, and mostly least bothered, so please get a sense of collective effort with brotherhood and we can then smile back in near future because of our contributions. That's it!

An article you recently created, Moamoria, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
