Edelbrock

Thanks for the Barnstar! And thanks for your comments. As you probably noticed, I already had someone give it a once over and I just moved his comments to the Edelbrock talk page. I've been making the obvious changes and line item striking out the text as I do it. I'm at a sort of crossroads now and just began making bold changes, which actually will affect the scope of the article; I placed a large chunk of the Vic Edelbrock material IN the Vic Edelbrock Sr. Article and now I need to decide how to expand each article and how much text to crossover or show in both articles. It truly seems like an art in some ways, especially when the two subjects are intertwined. Any advice or copyediting would be greatly appreciated! MiracleMat (talk) 15:41, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the help with the SEMA logo. What I would like to do now is get a picture of Vic Edelbrock senior up on the article. My last attempt was deleted because of copyright paranoia blah blah blah, so what I would like to do is get one up on wikimedia commons. I have access to some very old pics and they should now technically be public domain, following the 75 year rule. I looked into created a page for him and it's a little confusing. Okay it was easier to leave this on your talk page instead of the WP Wisconsin page. And Royalbroil there is another book about Wisconsin's vanishing lumber towns at the La Crosse Library.I thought you would be interested in that one. I am planning to check that out. One quick note about the La Crosse Public Library:it is one of the few libraries in Wisconsin that has a public archives-most of the libraries in Wisconsin do not have an archives. Pictures

Well, I've, ah, taken hundreds already! I've joined the WikiProject for that reason. Look at the page, I took almost all of those pictures. Last night I took pictures of all the historic places in Shawano, Wisconsin... Royalbroil 12:38, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

Actually, looking at that particular article, it looks like I haven't been. That's because I took the pictures that ended up on subarticles of that article. I "trackchase" - travel to racetracks anywhere in the eastern half of WI to watch the races. I went to 30 tracks last year; the only track outside of Wisconsin was Rockford Speedway just south of the border. If I have some time when I travel to a racetrack, I check out that page for the cities on my way to the track and snap the pics. Sometimes I do a day trip where I drive to some area that I haven't been to before (or lately). I have uploaded almost 1400 photos to Commons, mainly Wisconsin cities and historic places. Thanks for crediting, Shub. My Wifi internet got killed by rain before I could reply. The cascading protection appears to be working, so you shouldn't have to protect. Roncalli Profile Pic

Ummm, are you sure? I went to Superchick's touring opening concert at the school to take the picture. Their myspace page and this page agree it was held at Roncalli. The school is located on Mirro Dr. Royalbroil 02:18, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

I looked up the address for Manitowoc Lutheran High School. I drove by it on the way to the concert not knowing that was Manty Lutheran. Had I known I would have taken a picture. I assumed it was a grade school. Be assured that both pictures on the Roncalli article were the same school. Look at the time stamp on the images, they should be within about 5 minutes which is too fast to drive between the schools. Maybe you're confused about the banner on the school - the concert was sponsored by several different denominations including Lutherans and Catholics. Royalbroil 02:35, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

I am 100% sure that is MLHS. I graduated from MLHS. That picture is of the back of the school from Waldo Blvd. The section of the school to the right is an addition to the music dept. that was finished last year which covered up the back of the stage, which you can see rising up from the building, which used to say "Manitowoc Lutheran High School" in big white letters. You can see the edge of the trailer park that is next to the school on the right. I looked at the time stamp, 12 minutes apart. You're right, it does look like a different school. Looking at the original uncropped image, it has a divided highway in the foreground with grass on the median. There's no divided highway on Mirro Drive, right? So it looks like you both are right! Thanks for correcting me and sticking to your guns. I'll add it to the MLHS article. This is even better - pictures for 2 articles! I'll get the image renamed on Commons - I'm an admin there now. Hey Buddy

Hey Royal, how you doin these days? Sorry I haven't been as active on the NASCAR stuff as I should be, but I've been kind of poking around at some other things. I'll be getting back to it very soon though. I did get a lot of work done on the main NASCAR page, and have some definite plans to continue (although I'll want some input before I do some of the things).

Had kind of a personal favor to ask you, and I've already got one friend User:Huntster to accept some responsibility on this too. Would it be ok if I sent you some of my personal information, like phone numbers, and such via email - and establishing that you're also one of my trusted contacts in the event something would happen down the road - (hopefully long long down the road)? Not anything to dwell on or anything, but I did notice you were willing to weigh in on the whole WP:RIP guideline, so I'm guessing it's not an issue you're afraid to tackle when need be either.

Also - and this has nothing to do with the above request, I will be somewhat out of touch for the next month or so at times. I have the weekend jaunt to Toledo Speedway coming up this weekend, and then a week and a half in early May to run down to Birmingham AL. for my niece's college graduation. I give co-noms when I feel real inspired by someone, like I am with Jamie. It's quite rare that I approach someone, like I did with her. It was so wrong to see her first RFA go up in smoke. I have a lot of firsthand experience with her that I wish could have been brought out in her first RFA.

You can send me your personal information if you like. I've give out my information and real background to a few Wikipedians. If I should die, two of my cousins had done a bit of editing a while back and have some respect here, so I'm planning to ask them to post information on me if I died. They are the only Wikipedians that I've met in real life, although there's a chance that I may meet up with one of those informed Wikipedians in October.

Enjoy your time away. Wikipedia will still be here. There's no deadline on getting any articles done, so don't worry about the NASCAR article. Enjoy your time at Toledo Speedway. A panorama would be nice, I have a friend who has software to make one. I would love to see pictures of sign, too. Ideally, pictures of flagstand, ticket boot and a corner would be the best just like I did at Lake Geneva Raceway. I'm glad I took them since that track is now demolished. Thanks, I'm sure I'll have a great time. Great ideas too, I have some stitching software that I can use to do a panaroma - and I'd have never thought of the ticket booth or flag stand. Most tracks I visit I get a pic of the sign right off the bat, that way I can sort my pics into folders. Also, I sent you my personal info via the Wikipedia email link, rather than just out of my address book - that way OTRS can always verify. Also sent to User:Huntster. Hopefully you guys won't need that until you're both old and gray :). Once I get back to the image upload thing, I'll dig out the exact pic I need you to move - arca-jennerstown something should be arca-salem ... or something along those lines. If you want to watchlist my commons uploads, that'd be cool, although I only have 3 there now - hopefully I'll be adding more soon. I have some decent ASA Bristol shots from 2007, do we need anything in that line? Otto Frederick Hunziker et al.

I understand the debate and ultimate consensus about the distinction between "University of Wisconsin" and "University of Wisconsin-Madison", but that refers to contemporary usage. To say that someone attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1909 is an anachronism, as the term UW-Madison didn't even exist then. Perhaps the most precise wording would be "attended the University of Wisconsin (now University of Wisconsin-Madison)" but that seems a bit wordy. Collins, Wisconsin

I look at the Collins, Wisconsin article.The article/photos are excellent.The only change I made was that I added Collins to the Manitowoc County article.One thing I want to alert you-an editor wants to merge the Prairie du Chien school district article with that of the city.The same editor wants to do the same thing with the Decorah, Iowa school district article. NASCAR

I noticed we have a lot of red links for individual NASCAR seasons like (1955 - 1981 maybe). I might be able to get a few of those started here this summer. Do we want each race with top 10 finishes listed? Also, that little career stat table I did for Richmond, Rex White, and AK - should I be looking to get that into all the other BIO and BLP articles over time? Hmmm... probably should have numbered these ... lol. The one book I have the 2004 Fan Guide one (which will be a great help in refing the seasons) has money totals different than nascar.com. I'm guessing it includes like memorabilia sales and such maybe. I'd be inclined to just leave those numbers out of anything, but what do you think? — Ched :  ?  02:21, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

For the NASCAR seasons, we have added the Top 10 finishers from each race, so your idea sounds good! That little career stat table looks good for any driver - add at will. I'd skip mentioning money since there is a dispute. The official NASCAR.com source would take precedent, but I see no reason to go there. We are concerned about the results, not money matters. You know it needs 1500 characters of main body text - that'll be hard to accomplish. You might be able to make a case for a sentence summary for each race. University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh

This is what I see:

• Rewording to more commonly accepted terms (e.g., headcount > enrollment, sans > except)
• Toning down some peacock wording (e.g., widely known > reputed, esteemed, known across the country)
• Changing some terms (appropriately) to lowercase
• Wikifying some terms (Even though many are redlinked, such as some of the awards, doesn't that show the status of the awards?)
• Removal of generalizations (e.g., have been quite successful, teams are quite successful, etc.), leaving specifics behind
• Request for specific dates for statements employing terms such as "recently" and "consistently place"
• Spelling corrections (e.g., dormatory > dormitory, produceder > producer)
• Improving word choice (e.g., talking about > considering)
• Removal of trivial or irrelevant information (e.g., who submitted the application for the National Register, long bio of Steve Boettcher)

I've seen a couple of images by user:Sulfur, and I'm a little concerned about the propriety of said deletions. You seem to have nominated one of them for deletion, but I can't find the image in the link you supplied. Could you tell me where you saw it? I have an issue with this whole situation. The uploader uploaded quite a few images, and it is quite obvious to me that he took them himself, since he also has them on his Flickr. Unfortunately, he has a copyright notice on them there, and won't provide User:GRuban official proof that they're his. GRuban has gotten at least two of them deleted, purely on procedural grounds (the copyright issue). Are we obligated to delete all of his images because of the copyright/proof issue? I can't put my finger on anything specific, just generalities. I know that's not helpful to you. When I read the article, I wonder what makes this place a notable real estate agency. Should there be an article on every real estate agency in Madison? NO. So why is this one agency notable? What makes them special enough to warrant an article? I understand your arguement. Wikipedia isn't a business directory, but why am I interested in FSBO Madison when I've never been to Madison or met any of the owners? Two reasons: First, the company is the first (and as far as we know the largest) internet response to the traditional realtor cartel that has dominated residential real estate sales for decades. They are fundamentally challenging the traditional model much as eBay, craigslist, and Wikipedia have each challenged an existing business structure. Second, how many Madison real estate companies have been the subject of two New York Times articles, much less a major economics research paper that was analyzed on numerous reports and blogs like Freakonomics. I would be happy to rewrite the intro to the article to emphasize more of this significance, but I want to be sure that will suffice, because of your comment, "I can't put my finger on anything specific." I am definitely not accusing you of doing promotional work. I've run across that situation myself where I others thought I was promoting something. You are understanding my concern: why does some random realtor in Madison deserve an article? Your suggestion to improve the article's intro to include this information is a step in the right direction to address my concerns, especially if you can source this content to the New York Times (a reliable source). DYK bot

It has been many months of manually updating the DYK template for the main page (since mid February). We really do need this bot. I'm sure your busy. After all, we are all volunteers and this is a hobby. You're welcome. It's fairly easy, especially compared to the whole download cycle. I know how difficult that is, for had to do it the manual way until I got the tools at Commons a month ago. By the way, I set up cascading protection for local DYK images. It takes several hours for a cascading protection to reach an image on the main page. So I set it up that any local image sitting in queues 1 to 6 gets protected by cascading protection from the page User:Ameliorate!/DYKlock. While it takes several hours for the protection to be applied, hooks normally sit in queues 1 to 6 for around a day. By the time they hit the main page, they'll be protected. They'll remain protected because the main page template is also transcluded to DYKlock. The moral of the story is that a local image doesn't need to be protected anymore. You just need to add {{m-protected}} or {{C-uploaded}}. Royalbroil 05:03, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

Weather was rainy by Madison. So instead of driving 2 hours south, I drove 1.5 hours north to a karting track in northern Wisconsin. I'll catch Madison later. The article is lacking reliable sources. In my opinion the ones used were sufficient, but I don't always win. I'm not a fan of the show having never heard of it, but I am interested in seeing notable subjects get articles. I think the topic is notable, but other's don't. It's a lot harder to write an article after it has been deleted with a deletion discussion because then you need to prove notability much more thoroughly. I'd need to see some really solid sources with the caliber of NY Times, People magazine, etc because I won't spend time on an article just to see it get deleted with minimal discussion (if any). I need a smoking gun. Smoking guns are VERY HARD to find for Christian topics because the secular media almost always avoids Christian topics. Yes, here's why. WikiProject NASCAR is the primary notability for both tracks. Whelen Modifieds are part of WP:NASCAR. We normally add WikiProject Motorsport if an article belongs to numerous Motorsport genres or if it falls outside all of the children WikiProjects. So Juan Pablo Montoya can get the WP:MOTOR tag on the talk page because he's part of WikiProjects NASCAR, American Open Wheel Racing, and F1. Jeff Gordon wouldn't get it because he's just NASCAR, even though he did do some open wheel racing. I could see Tony Stewart going either way because he was famous for his open wheel before NASCAR, but NASCAR dominates his career now. Royalbroil 06:15, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

Hey buddy, I was going through some BLP uncat stuff, and ran across the Kevin Grubb article. Wow, bummer. I hadn't heard. I see you were right on top of it by looking at the article history though. Hate to hear about those kinds of things. Although I never met him, being a race fan - it always is a bit of a downer when I hear about these things. I remember meeting Adam Petty at an ASA event, and it wasn't all that awful long after that that he suffered his sad fate. Somehow when it comes to drivers and race fans, it's almost like losing one of the family huh?

I found the stats from that article views counter that you mentioned at WP:NASCAR. Speaking of WP:NASCAR, have you officially joined as a member? Members usually add the WikiProject boxes to their userpage to help promote the group. About the peer reviews - I definitely wouldn't for the 1952 in NASCAR, it's not near WP:GA. It might be worth it for Rex White. If you think it's close, I'll do the first peer review before you list it so that I give my opinion if it's close to GA. I would expect an article for a NASCAR champion to be pretty lengthy and cover their career in depth, including time spent racing on other circuits. Yea, I saw that Mr Z-man could do that, and I thought it would be great for our NASCAR project, so I just wp:boldly asked him .. lol. I think I have that little userbox on my To Do page. Not sure if I actually added my sig. anywhere - but I'll check. Think I'll hold off on the peer review a bit, but I will look back over the Rex White thing. I'm pretty sure everything that I added had a source, so it may just be a matter of putting the ref name in places it belongs. Been a while since I looked at it. I know I have some more stuff to add too since I got those books and all as well. I'd like to find some more info on his personal life - wife, kids, etc. That's not as easy to come by - even in his autobiography (which basically covers his career). He's supposed to be working on a second book, not sure what the status is on that. Hi there. I've been an occasional contributor and reviewer at DYK. Today I made my first attempt to follow the procedures for moving material to Prep area 1, including generating credits, and removing the items from the discussion page. I would appreciate feedback from yourself or another regular as to whether my actions were correct. Can I also anticipate three things: there's only one US item out of seven, because most of the older noms that had been reviewed were non-US; I went up to seven hooks rather than six to get the box looking 'full' on the main page; and I know something is supposed to be done for the image, but I wasn't confident of what, so I haven't done anything. I'd really appreciate an explanation of that bit of the process. I'm posting this message to Dravecky, Casliber and Royalbroil, so whoever's around can ping me at my talkpage. Well, long week, but it's finally over. I wanted to drop by and say Thank you RB. Your support and encouragement has meant a lot to me. It's a good thing to have friends I think, and I consider you one of the best buddy! Might take me a couple days to get back up to speed on the regular editing; as I have some R/L stuff to get caught up on, and I want to see what these new buttons do and all. But .. I pulled some info from the Jayski site with bulleted points on the Pole article. I have it in one of my sandboxes right now, and want to tweak and reword a bit for the lead of that article. Kindred spirit

Hi! So as I was planning the route back home on a road trip (which I'm on right now), I was taking into account where I could take Wikipedia photos along the way. I then noticed you covered a huge chunk of the places I would visit (towns and universities) and took the photos I would take (key buildings, town halls, etc) --very impressive. Its nice to see another who's into these sorts of dorky "scavenger hunts" that some of us play. There are a few of us in Minnesota, and I try to hit towns on my own road trips (but sometimes, depending on my company, they're not as patient to stop in every little town to take a photo of a town hall). I love going to car races all around the eastern half of Wisconsin and I take some day trips. The races used to often be solo trips, so that's where I got my best opportunity for photos. If it's easy and I have a little time, I'll take photos of things along the way. Please take photos when you're driving because I'm sure there's a lot that I have missed and plenty of places that I didn't happen to drive by. I've apparently gotten good with sheer repetition and repeating what situations worked, because my pictures usually score well on google and yahoo images. I don't know anyone else who's doing these "scavenger hunts" in Wisconsin, although there are some who took the photos of communities around their locale. I've taken few photographs in the western half of the state (west of Interstate 39) except in the eastern part of the BEAUTIFUL Driftless Area. Pilsen, Lark, and Shirley

With the help of my Wisconsin DeLorme Atlas&Gazeteer I put the towns together with the unincorporated communities. There was a little confusion with the Pilsen (community), Wisconsin article in that it is in Kewaunee County, Wisconsin and there is the town of Pilsen in Bayfield County, Wisconsin- you had the unincorporated community of Pilsen being in the town of Pilsen being in Bayfield County. It is in the town of Montpelier in Kewaunee County. I corrected it. A recommendation a disamb page should be created for Pilsen- there is the city in Germany, a neighborhood in Germany, a region in Peru (?) and of course the town and unincorporated community in Wisconsin The index on Wikipedia would give the Pilsen listings. I set all of my flickr images as a Creative Commons license, except a few personal shots that I only let friends access. I do have a Commons gallery: Commons:Category:Files by User:Royalbroil from en.wikipedia; it's a gallery that I manually created one by one. I don't know how to transfer from Picassa to Commons. I bet you'd have to do each one manually. FYI, If you took the picture, you can license a Wikipedia/Commons image differently than other places on the web.

You can add someone as a friend on flickr by looking at their photostream and clicking on "add .... as a contact". That puts them in your list of friends. Any picture that they post comes up on your list of photos by your friends. Anyone is able to post pictures that can only be seen by their friends and/or family. Necedah Shrine

Sometimes you just have to wait a while until a particular editor has lost interest in an article before you can make needed changes. I hadn't read the Talk page until after I made the edits. Does it look balanced to you now? There may have been shenanigans among unsavory characters associated with the shrine, but I could not readily find reliable sources to that effect. As I mentioned to RFD, next week I'm going to try to find some more reliable sources from contemporaneous newspapers about the entire set of events. Do you ever use NewspaperArchive.com for sources? NewspaperArchive.com has digitized over 900 historical Wisconsin newspapers, so it's good for local history. I did a quick search of it for some of the alleged crimes associated with Necedah, and found nothing. They should have appeared in newspapers, if they really happened. Although pedophilia, or any other crime, committed by an affiliate of an organization may not be fair game for an article on the organization, one of the claims was that the shrine participated in a cover-up of the incident, and that does seem like fair game, if factual. The Guadalupe Shrine

Hi! The photo of the small chapel is the Votive Chapel. You can see that on the hillside as you are coming in to La Crosse on Highway 14/61. That would be #7 in the set. The photo of the statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe #4 can be used. Any of the photos #18-21 that shows the main shrine church with the dome can used. The photo of the main altar to the left of set of photos can be used.

Okay the various photos that show the various art work, the organ,etc. should not be used.This would detract from the article for people would understand the various art work, etc. Okay I numbered the photos from left to right 1.,2.,3.,4. etc.

For the time being used the photos about the votive chapel, the main shrine church, the statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe, & the main altar. I have not been to the Shrine in over one year.This would give me an excuse to go back. At the time I went to the Shrine they were building the main shrine church in the summer of 2008. I had a newspaper article about the chapel back last year when I took the photos but I don't think I have it any more. The community is really small, it was the most interesting thing! I looked through my entire stack of Wikipedia source articles and I can't find the article from the Tri-County News (Wisconsin) at nearby Kiel, Wisconsin. I think my cousin (an inactive Wikipedian) might know about the chapel; I sent him an email. I see him at least once in every few months and we frequently talk about Wikipedia. The reason I am interested in this chapel that a few months ago I came across a story about a young boy from Missouri who had an idea for a small church on his family's property and started to save his money to built it. His parents were not too overly religious but they tolerant it. The little boy even made a model of what his church look like. Unfortunately, the little boy died suddenly and his parents and grandparents built the church and the little boy is buried in the cemetery next to his church. I was going to go to a track tonight but I decided against. First, I went last night which usually doesn't slow me down much. Second, I had an offer from my parents to do an evening road trip to a larger city that I used to live in so I took them up on it. I just got back home. It was lucky that I didn't go - some pop up drizzle came to the area of the asphalt track that I would have attended. That happened last night but it was a dirt track and it kept the track PERFECT after a little grooming. Yea, I am doing good. It's been hard for me to find much Wikipedia time between working full time and going to all of the racetracks. When I do have time, it seems like my ISP fails me. They've been having problems with the weak WiFi signal people like me getting dropped by some mysterious "interference". I've gone to 26 racing events at 20 tracks so far this year. I've been to many of the best tracks already, so my list is thinning. I expect to attend about 30 tracks (the number I went to last year). I did get to attend my first racetrack in Michigan when I was on vacation somewhat near Norway, Michigan.

I looked at the Daytona 500 pole position winners article. It needs all of the sentences/thoughts/stories cited with reliable sources so it needs a bunch more work. Hey RB, so good to catch you online. I've been really unfortunate in regards to attending events lately. My mom is getting up there in years, showing less interest in racing, and demanding more of my time. There is a race coming up Tuesday at Lernerville speedway (sp?), and I have a buddy that will go - so hopefully I can get to that one. Sorry about the ISP failures ... I have 'em too .. lol. Michigan has some great tracks, and some great events - I hope you can get to see some great stuff.

One sad thing is that I can actually hear the sounds of a local track (PPMS - Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway), but I haven't been able to create the article yet.

I was wondering the exact same thing about the "pole" article too ... seems like a lot of "trivia" stuff that could be removed - rather than finding resources for it. I kinda hate to just "delete" stuff other folks have added, but I think there's some stuff there that needs to go. I'm gonna keep working on the article since we figured it would be a good FLC. Anything you can add to or improve on is always a plus. I know you're busy with so many things - but just so you know - I really do appreciate all the help you give me.

I am so damn tired buddy. Thanks for all you do. Got 2 uploaded to commons, and pretty poor "descriptions" at that. File:Lernerville-WOOLM-5.jpg, and File:Lernerville-1.jpg. Haven't done anything with them yet. I'll try to do better tomorrow - I'm just flat out beat to hell and back. Local street fair (and I'm one of the coordinators with the VFD, PD, EMT and all). DYK for April Fool's 2010

I understand you have an interest in April Fool's DYK. Question: IF I were to submit an article (i.e. ...that Wikipedia has an article on everything (already done before, but used here for idea concept)) do I submit it under the day created (i.e. Aug 1, 2009) asking for it to be held for April 1, 2010? OR, do I submit it at Wikipedia:April Fool's Main Page/Did You Know at Suggestions in the first place (by-passing the normal DYK day created) and list it above the existing suggestion of EME (communications)? THEN, does the 5 day Rule still apply? The article I have in mind will DEFINITELY be a new article altogether and not an expansion from any stub. I keep getting accused of be "in charge" of April Fool's Day. An April Fool's Day article would only need to be submitted at Wikipedia:April Fool's Main Page/Did You Know. There no reason to submit it in with the normal noms. The 5 day rule has been waived for the last several years. So people started a petition to make everyone wait with DYK April Fool's noms until a certain date, after which any nom (even from earlier creation/expansions) would be accepted. Don't worry about, just nom it when you get done. I have the page on my watchlist, so I'll comment if there's a problem to give you time to add it to the regular DYK noms. Great. Now I understand when and where to nom it. That was most useful information. I see you also do a lot of DYKs, and write a lot of new articles. IF (big "if) you have time perhaps you can make some comments for inprovments for the article. I'll have a good 6 months to continue to expand and improve it, with others participation (hopefully). I LOVE astronomy! However, I only understand it at the level of someone who took 2 college classes (because that's all they offered). I don't know how you could expand it besides finding books/magazines/newspaper articles on the topic. It certainly needs to be referenced. Thanks. I might sandbox the lead and procedure section. There's something there that just doesn't quite sound right, but I can't put my finger on it. I spent 3 hours trying to find a ref for the 1960 item, and I'm still not sure why Owens started 1st, and Roberts 3rd. I know Roberts even won his qualifier - not sure why he wasn't on the pole. I don't know if this helps... In the first 1959 Daytona 500, one row was Grand National cars and the other row was NASCAR Convertible Division drivers. That's why there are 2 qualifiers. The Convertible article has details and a reference. Royalbroil 00:17, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

I found a good ref for the restrictor plate sizes through 2008 (still need to dig one up for 09). I moved those 2 sections to the talk page. Right now, I think a good going over the lead and "Procedure" section as a final scrub-up might be called for. Don't know if you're interested in doing that, asking S&W to look, ... maybe it needs a complete re-write - I'll leave that part up to you for now. Those early 60's notes I haven't been able to find any concrete wp:rs for yet. I think some of it has to do with the fact that before 71 they counted for points - but that's OR at this point, so I can't really put anything other than what is there into the article. Of course it's formal. Anything featured is formal. The very best stuff. Don't sweat it. I do want to a very thorough inspection of the article. Sift & Winnow's review will help significantly. So it's not ready yet. Maybe we could call in a few more favors and get a few more eyes to look it over. I like to show something like this to someone who knows absolutely nothing about the topic to see if it's readable by the general public. I sometimes use my family.

As for the nomination, I think it should come from you. You would be a better defender since you've been immersed in it. I haven't done very much so far. Let's see how much I get in to it before we nominate it. I'm happy to stand by your side no matter what. Royalbroil 01:13, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
