I hereby award you this Barnstar in recognition of your efforts to improve and organize Pittsburgh-related articles, including the tagging of stubs. Thanks, Chris Griswold () 08:07, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Michael Chabon edits

[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to the article Michael Chabon. But please be more careful in the future, as you removed the target for all the Reference citations on the page. To learn more about how to use this reference system, see the page on citing sources, in particular the section on footnotes. --ShelfSkewed [Talk] 22:04, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pittsburgh: An Urban Portrait

[edit]

This book has been used a reference for many of the Pittsburgh neighborhood articles. I appreciate your citing it, but can you use it more specifically? What you're citing, the relevant page number, etc? {{cite book}} and the <ref></ref> tags will help. --Chris Griswold () 21:28, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Revert explained

[edit]

I reverted your edit to Linn Run State Park as all 120 Pennsylvania state parks have a similar opening sentence / paragraph so this keeps them all consistent. Thanks, Ruhrfisch 01:17, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Same goes for the edit you made to Point State Park. Just keeping the opening sentences the same. Dincher 04:08, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reporting Vandals

[edit]

I still have your page on my watchlist and saw you were having some trouble with a vandal - I reported him at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism (easier to use the shortcut WP:AIV) and someone should block this vandal soon. My (mistaken) edit to Montour High School

[edit]

I must apologize for reverting your edits which Ruhrfisch corrected. I was anti-vandalizing too quickly and assumed that "McKees Rocks" was referring to a person rather than a place. I will strive to not let this happen again. —Travis CT 15:06, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • I cleaned up the article and put in a map of the school district. Although the mailing address is McKees Rocks, the municipality it is in is Robinson Township. I tried to make this clearer in my edits. Ruhrfisch 15:51, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:GrandViewScenicBywayPark.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:GrandViewScenicBywayPark.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 16:06, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

Duplicate images uploaded

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:1903stjohncathedral.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:1ststjohncathedral.jpg. The copy called Image:1ststjohncathedral.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 17:32, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Shauna Seliy, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. DarkAudit 18:13, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Seven Oaks Country Club, by Nuttah68, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Seven Oaks Country Club seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Seven Oaks Country Club, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Seven Oaks Country Club itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 20:59, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:1903stjohncathedral.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:1903stjohncathedral.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Quadell (talk) (random) 17:17, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Frick Fine Arts.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Frick Fine Arts.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 07:34, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use disputed for Image:PopismBookcover.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:PopismBookcover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Dinty W. Moore, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Thanks for uploading Image:3 Rivers Park logo.gif. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:PointofPghcover.jpg}

[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:PointofPghcover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Rudowsky! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 3 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 3 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

You are now a Reviewer

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 22:22, 15 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Lila Shaara is being discussed concerning whether it is suitable for inclusion as an article according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lila Shaara until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. JohnBlackburnewordsdeeds 17:19, 27 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article I Can't Wait on God has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Google search does not show any notability, and the only mentions I was able to find were non-sources (i.e. online retailers)

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Replaceable fair use File:Joseph-lawrence.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Joseph-lawrence.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

Notice

The article The Diagnosis of Love has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Only two reviews located, in Publishers Weekly and Booklist. Since they both basically review everything, it's hardly an indication of notability in the absence of any other, more selective reviews. The Post-Gazette source linked is a local fluff piece about lady authors. It's hardly in-depth and fails WP:AUD. Overall, there's just not enough non-routine critical commentary to justify keeping this article.
