Bullets at AFD

Hi, all the bullets at the global warming AFD make it VERY hard to follow. Bullets should be for the keep/delete declaration. Subsequent back and forth dialogue should just be indented with colons, and NOT asterisks. Please consider tweaking your dialogue comments to help clean up the AFD discussion. I'd do it myself, but I just got chastised for a an ill-considered but well-intended crossing of the line when refactoring. NewsAndEventsGuy (talk) 19:39, 10 February 2012 (UTC)

Re: K Party

Hello Tyrannus Mundi,

of course you are free to add a more apt description of the ideology in accordance with the sources and the commentators' analysis. We just cannot use the exact wording which the party uses to present itself. I am glad that you understand this. Kind regards --RJFF (talk) 20:15, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

In compliance with Wikipedia:Verifiability and Wikipedia:No original research, we have to use the terms which are used in the analysis of the commentators. We must not make up our own description. If the observers and analysts have not yet decided for a clear ideology label (which would not be unusual for a very new party), we might better leave the ideology parameter of the infobox empty and instead describe the policies and stances of the party in the article's body, without using one of the traditional ideology categories. --RJFF (talk) 20:52, 7 March 2012 (UTC)
I think it's OK to cite a Korean source that independently describes the party as "개혁보수" and put reformative conservatism in the ideology field (possibly with reformative linking to reform and conservatism to conservatism). Obviously this term is used more often in Korea, than in English-speaking countries, but nothing speaks against using it in this context. --RJFF (talk) 21:13, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

DYK for May 16 coup

Casliber (talk · contribs) 12:55, 11 March 2012 (UTC)

Hi. When you recently edited May 16 coup, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Elder (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

History of South America

Your recent edit to History of South America substantially reorganised the material and removed significant content, but the edit summary did not reflect this. I wonder if you accidentally edited an old version of the article. If your changes were intended, feel free to restore them with a more informative edit summary, or if you need more space to explain, use the talk page.-gadfium 23:04, 7 April 2012 (UTC)

Hello Tyrannus Mundi,

is it ok with you, if I copy your post to Talk:Saenuri Party and answer it there? I think it concerns the article and not just you and me personally and maybe other editors want to contribute their opinions as well. OK? Kind regards. --RJFF (talk) 19:02, 5 April 2012 (UTC)

"Misguided edit"? I'm afraid you have to be a bit more specific. I don't know which of my edits you're referring to. Kind regards --RJFF (talk) 22:15, 16 April 2012 (UTC)

Re: Honam wing

Hello again, Tyrannus Mundi. Many thanks for your message. :) Though "Honam wing" isn't a common expression, it means former President Kim Dae-jung's followers or politicians who served during Kim's government. Traditionally, Democratic party has been a regional party of "Honam" with most party members coming from Jeolla. This was largely due to the fact that Kim Dae-jung was from Honam, and after Gwangju Democratization Movement most Jeolla people have sympathized with Kim.

Roh Moo-hyun was different: He was from Gyeongsang province. Until he became the President, he was an outsider among liberals and didn't have loyal followers like Kim. This had been the major reason for Uri Party's creation: Roh wanted strong supports in the Assembly. When people think about Roh Moo-hyun's impeachment, they usually blame GNP for it. In fact, Democrats initiated the impeachment of Roh, while small group of Roh's faction resisted the attempt.

Initially, Roh's political gamble payed off for him with Uri Party gaining a majority in the Assembly, while Democratic party was in jeopardy. Because of Roh's record low approval rate, however, Uri party and Democratic party was forced to be reunited just before the 2007 Presidential election. Some Uri party members, i.e. Rhyu Si-min, didn't join the newly formed party though. Although Honam-wing (pro-Kim, former Democratic party member) and pro-Roh (former Uri Party member, not from Jeolla province.) are under one roof to create a common front against Lee Myung-bak, DUP had internal conflicts under the surface. This within-party politic became apparent, after the DUP's April election defeat and Chairperson Han Myeong-sook's resignation. Now, the question is who's gonna manage the DUP primary? Before the election, it was planned that Han Myeong-sook would manage the primary and make Moon Jae-in the party's Presidential candidate. Pro-Roh faction needs help from some of the Honam-wing. It has recently revealed that Moon Jae-in/Lee Hae-chan and Park Ji-won made a secret pact to share the party's top positions. If their plan were to be carried out, Park Ji-won will handle the primary to Moon Jae-in's favor, while other candidates, like Chung Dong-young, Sohn Hak-kyu and Kim Doo-kwan, have to endure significant disadvantages.

Moon Jae-in, Han Myeong-sook and Kim Doo-kwan is pro-Roh faction. Park Ji-won, Chung Sye-kyun and Chung Dong-young is DUP's Honam-wing. PBJT (talk) 04:44, 30 April 2012 (UTC)

Your edit to the article The Hankyoreh

Are you really sure that this edit is correct? I think that it is more likely that the Chinese characters are wrong. could be either "one" (see wikt:한) or wikt:韓 and could possibly be a pun (in which case a Chinese character shouldn't be used since it would destroy the pun). 係來 makes no sense to me and doesn't seem to have any Wiktionary entries (red links: wikt:en:係來, wikt:ko:係來, wikt:ja:係來, wikt:zh:係來). is (not ) and besides wikt:겨레 claims that 겨레 is of Korean origin, suggesting no hancha in the first place. --Stefan2 (talk) 15:40, 11 June 2012 (UTC)

If those aren't the official hanja then obviously my edit was wrong-headed. You're right I can't find sources confirming it — feel free to remove the hanja / revert my edit if that seems right to you (it might be worthwhile bringing it up on the article talk page as well). --Tyrannus Mundi (talk) 23:24, 11 June 2012 (UTC)

List of terrorist incidents - your opinion needed

I noticed you were active in a 2011 discussion considering some general guidelines on what to include in the list of terrorist incidents, how to phrase it, and how long to keep it, as well as what kind of attacks should be on the list (because we obviously can't have ALL of them, or even a large percentage). Since a few conflict points have surfaced in the last few months, I would like to invite you to share your opinion on an ongoing discussion between myself and User:Lihaas that is taking place over here. Of course, I'm not expecting you to take my side, but it would be great if more people can weigh in. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 04:48, 21 October 2016 (UTC)

New WikiProject Socialism membership system

Hello! I'm in the process of introducing a new membership system to WikiProject Socialism (designed as part of WikiProject X and adopted by a few other projects). The new system works by filling a form which creates a WikiProject Card. I'm manually creating WikiProject cards for current members. You can find and edit yours here. Any change to your WikiProject card will be automaticalle updated at Wikipedia:WikiProject Socialism/Members. If you have any doubt, please, feel free to contact me by replying here using the {{re}} template. Best, --MarioGom (talk) 01:37, 20 July 2019 (UTC)

Notice

The file File:Moon Jae-in face crop.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 19 November 2019 (UTC)
