Taipei Medical University (Chinese: 臺北醫學大學; Wade–Giles: T'ai-pei I-hsüeh Ta-hsüeh) was founded as Taipei Medical College in 1960. It was renamed as Taipei Medical University in 2000. Its campus is in Wuxing Street, Xinyi District, Taipei, Taiwan. TMU is 600 metres away from the world’s second tallest building - Taipei 101.

During the past 50 years, TMU has been devoted to medical education through the efforts of seven colleges (College of Medicine, College of Oral Medicine, College of Pharmacy, College of Nursing, College of Public Health and Nutrition, College of Medical Science and Technology, and College of Humanity and Social Science) and Center for Continuing & Extension Education. Currently, there are over 6,000 students, 418 full-time faculty members and 600 part-time faculty members. As of now^[when?], there are more than 31,000 TMU graduates.^{[citation needed]}

TMU is the leading university in academic-industrial cooperation in Taiwan. TMU has cooperated with 174 biotechnological and pharmaceutical companies.^{[citation needed]}

Three JCI-accredited Hospitals

TMU operates three Joint Commission International (JCI)-accredited hospitals, including Taipei Medical University Hospital, Wan Fang Hospital and Shuang Ho Hospital, with a total of 3,080 beds.
