Welcome, admins! This suite of pages documents common admin tasks and how to properly perform them. Administrative tools have been granted due to the trust the community has in you, so it's important you understand how they work before attempting to use them. Here you can learn about everything you can do, and some of the features you'll be able to test out in a safe environment without worry of causing disruption. Spending 15 or 20 minutes here may seem well worth it if it keeps you from ending up in the village stocks. Please note that as an operator of an account with administrative privileges, you should review your user account security practices. You may also wish to subscribe to the Administrators' newsletter to stay up to date with relevant discussions and technology changes. Guides[edit]Some of these pages will provide you with a way to practice using the tools in an environment that will not harm the encyclopedia. Others simply document what you are able to do and their best practices.

I would like to add another tool to my antivandalism toolbelt. I already use Twinkle and make a point to warn most if not vandals. This has resulted in a lower reoccurrence rate and helps the wiki. I will use the tool to assist in these efforts. Kingsmasher678 (talk) 16:13, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
Not done I noticed you started actively reverting vandalism about 2 weeks ago. While I appreciate your enthusiasm, I'd like to see you spend more time gaining experience fighting vandalism before assigning you advanced permissions. Keep up the good work, and consider reapplying in a month. Also, please ensure that you are consistently warning editors when you revert their edits (I recommend using tools such as Twinkle or Ultraviolet which makes this extremely easy). Would streamline the editing process for reversion when combatting vandalism or unnecessary additions on a handful of articles, as it is currently a pain on mobile (my main platform) Editmakerer (talk) 19:22, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- Not done I reviewed your contributions and found little to no recent anti-vandalism work. If you're still interested in this tool then please spend at least a month actively patrolling RecentChanges (Twinkle & Ultraviolet can help with that) before reapplying. I recently noticed this user, Princess of Ara. An editor who works mainly on Nigerian related articles and others. While trying to appreciate the user's effort, I got in love with the lovely articles, well sources, written from a volunteer in good faith and now, I am requesting that she be granted the auto patrol user right. I have created 76 articles, primarily focused on Sinophone cinema and fantasy literature, with 2 currently undergoing GAN. All of my articles have been promptly reviewed, and none of them have been deleted or marked for maintenance. I am requesting autopatrolled rights to alleviate the workload of the patrollers, especially those who actively review film articles and have reviewed the majority of my articles, allowing them to allocate more time to address articles that truly require attention. As a side note, I am a veteran editor with patroller rights on Chinese Wikipedia, having authored over 200 articles, including a dozen featured and good articles. I frequently create articles on notable subjects, having authored 530 articles, with the majority facing no issues. Only three were deleted, mainly due to changes in election results affecting their notability. Hey, @Schwede66: I've done everything you have suggested me do here, and followed the edit summary instructions you've given such as default sorting my previous articles, fixing PP and P in citations, using SFN template and using Book or Journal templates in Bibliography, etc. I've also created half a dozen new articles as per your suggestion, and I believe they are unproblematic.
