ConcreteCuring

Hello,

I know no other way to contact you regarding the deletion of my article and hope this is sufficient. I would like a more detailed explanation as to why my article was deleted (not just the letter and number code given) so that I can correct or clear up any ambiguity. Please let me know ASAP so that I can correct the problem and contribute to this Wikipedia.

Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ConcreteCuring (talkcontribs) 16:39, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rishloo

Hello, I'd like to say that I think you've made a mistake when deleting an article about the band Rishloo some time ago. It may be true that the article had only one contriubutor, but that is not definitely a good way to measure article's notability. From now on, I'd recommmend you for instance to check the listener amounts from the Last.fm service. Rishloo has 242,555 plays 14,338 listeners of which the listener-amount is the most easily compared to other bands. Anything over 10k listeners at Last.fm definitely cannot be considered underground, and I'd say that even in some cases there may be reasons to have an article about a band that could be classified as underground. However, Rishloo is well established band and well known by certain music genre listeners.

My opinion about Last.fm listening amounts: <10,000 underground 10,000 - 75,000 midstream (a big, well known band but who cannot have international tours as a main performer of the tour) 75,000 - 250,000 mainstream >250,000 "superband", the most popular bands in the world

I'd like to illuminate this with some examples, but I'm not really sure if this helps you at all because it simply might be that you never have listened even to any of the mainstream bands I listen to. It's just how the world works. :)

Examples of underground:
In Mourning 6,809 listeners
Secret And Whisper 4,757 listeners
The Project Hate MCMXCIX 8,417 listeners
Nahemah 4,231 listeners
Raintime 9,983 listeners

Examples of midstream:
Cult of Luna 67,451 listeners
Deadlock 28,094 listeners
Mercenary 32,716 listeners
Candiria 12,348 listeners
Burden of Grief 12,519 listeners
Rishloo 14,338 listeners
Maroon 33,929 listeners
Raunchy 25,873 listeners
Divine Heresy 19,777 listeners (ex-Fear Factory, and still so low!)
Bury Your Dead 46,742 listeners
Raised Fist 45,660 listeners
Stream of Passion 52,502 listeners
Scar Symmetry 53,280 listeners
Hatesphere 37,252 listeners
Zonaria 11,168 listeners
The Crown 25,691 listeners

Examples of mainstream:
Dark Tranquillity 200,686 listeners
God is an Astronaut 143,770 listeners
Katatonia 183,011 listeners

Examples of superbands:
Coldplay 1,834,021 listeners
Killswitch Engage 335,536 listeners
Deftones 599,345 listeners
Tool 710,243 listeners

One last note, I chose those underground examples so, that each of them have a wikipedia article and some of those articles are even on the track of becoming some fine articles. Br,

I was editing / submitting a company page to introduce into the wiki, and aside from being a company they have revolutionized the Silk Screening process; which is used quite often in the textile business. I was in the process of elaborating on their procedures when you DELETED the page. Their business model is profound and to be honest I believe they should at least have their name placed in the Wiki. Boxbomb

I am sorry if I am writing this in the incorrect spot, as I am new to Wikipedia. I wrote an article about the band Boxbomb, and yes I am the manager, but I believe they fit the notability criteria, and I feel that my entry was unbiased. Paste Punk. Can you also clarify why notable blogs are not considered notable? For example, Stereo Subversion features an interview with the band Broken Social Scene, which you can see is a very notable band. How is Stereo Subversion considered a "blog" and not a webzine? Aternative Press gave the band a review of 3.5 out of 4 stars in there April 2008 issue.

GIS Developer

<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GIS_Developer"> was created to be edited into a GIS Developer wiki, by a GIS Developer. We're a pretty small community and all have a sense of humor. It wasn't an attack on GIS Developers, mostly because it was being created by them. No one really knows what the term means, and "A Polite way of saying, 'Goofball that makes map programs'." is a very good first sentence of an explanation. If you're not convinced, contact a GIS Developer and ask them.

Anyway, if you'd like to expand on the definition or write your own in the meantime please do, but don't just completely remove the page please.

Ubaka u rwanda

Hello I am new to wikipedia so forgive me if this is not correct procedure. I am the chair of trustees for "Ubaka U Rwanda" registered charity number 1126500 (you can check this on the charity commission website). One of my colleagues placed our charity and information about it here on wikipedia and as admin you have deleted the page. from what I understand your reasoning is you are questioning the value of the information shared. If it was poorly written or needed something included then please inform us and we will gladly amend the situation. I feel deletion was completely unnecessary - as I have said we are a registered charity and many charities have information pages here on wikipedia - which is very relevant and useful for those interested in the charity and it's work. I would be very grateful for a response. user ps702rs (Ps702rs (talk) 23:52, 1 December 2008 (UTC)ps702rsPs702rs (talk) 23:52, 1 December 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Hi

Thanks for removing the semi protection on your page, because you are an extremely busy admin, you seem to often deal with enquiries from new editors about articles you have deleted etc. and they had no option to get in touch with you. You seem to already have a handful. May i suggest if your page does need protection for any reason, you ask East718 to have his bot look after your talk page. That seems to be the common sense solution. I assume its important not to block new editors out especially given how active you are on here and the work you do on here. Speedy deletion of User talk:Spbfh

A tag has been placed on User talk:Spbfh, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:User talk:Spbfh|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:Dragon Ball Z soundtrack albums, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:Dragon Ball Z soundtrack albums has been empty for at least four days, and its only content has been links to parent categories. Can you tell me what triggered your action on the article Troy King at 15:17 and 15:18 on 5 December 2008? I am not complaining in the least, just curious as to who's after the article this time. The article has a history of attacks - from the subject's detractors trying to add improperly sourced material in violation of WP:BLP, to (apparently) his supporters trying to edit out properly sourced, and hopefully NPOV-presented, material that might be considered unflattering. (At least one editor has been banned for the latter.) The article is probably a good candidate for the most permanent protection offered. Bnuttsin2/FANET

The request to delete Bnuttsin2/FANET was a misunderstanding. It was content that was being preserved from a page in the article namespace that the user had inappropriately created to compose whatever he was working on. Well—I wouldn't have done that, but someone else had moved it to the user talk page, which really isn't the place for it, so to keep the good deed in effect while keeping the user's talk page clean, I moved the content to the user subpage. —Largo Plazo (talk) 04:34, 10 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there Nawlin, I was wondering if you've had a chance to review this essay or not? And the associated ones that I cite in it about some CSD reviews that I've been doing? If so, I'd like to talk to you about your CSD Practices.---Balloonman PoppaBalloon 17:09, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • Yes, I saw it, and I understand that we have differences of opinion on articles such as Sandwichmas. I think I probably tend to interpret WP:SNOW a little more liberally than you do. NawlinWiki (talk) 17:12, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sandwichmas is just the latest example. I've been doing several surveys of deleted materials and it has basically reached the point where I dread looking at your deletions because they do not comply with current policy/guidelines. There is zero harm in leaving an article like Sandwichmas around for a week (tagged for deletion) and it gives people a chance to salvage it if it is real. G1 explicitly excludes excludes poor writing, partisan screeds, obscene remarks, vandalism, fictional material, material not in English, poorly translated material, implausible theories, or hoaxes. G3 also doesn't apply, because it isn't obvious vandalism (in the form you deleted.)
But one of the worse things, however, is deleting an article after another admin has deemed it not to be a speedy candidate. This encourages CSD taggers to adminshop and undermines the entire process. If another admin has rejected a CSD request, it shouldn't later be deleted (with the exception of a COPYVIO or BLP VIO.)
Citing SNOW to delete everything is not a valid utilization of IAR/SNOW. We have policies and guidelines for a reason, SNOW (which is an essay) does not trump those policies/guidelines. Careless and hasty CSD'ers do just as much damage to the project, if not more, than the vandals they are fighting. If you spend any time at RfA these days, you'll notice that CSD'ers find it extremely difficult to become Admins because they are not getting the proper training, and the general fear/dislike of hasty deleters. CSD'ers have a real bad image around the community precisely because of this type of behavior. As an admin, you should be adhereing ot the policies and guidelines and educating people on what the proper course of action is. You should be training others in what should be and shouldn't be deleted, not deleting everything that comes accross your plate. By deleting everything and routinely ignoring policy, you make it harder for future CSD'ers.---Balloonman PoppaBalloon 17:37, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Could you have a look

Hi NawlinWiki is it possible you could have a look at Join the Impact an new editor User: Wingfilee has listed this article for deletion and the only edits this editor has made are to add the template and list the article at AfD, I am a little suspicious and I feel it is vandalism/disruption, thanks. BigDuncTalk 20:13, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • I agree it's suspicious, but I think it'll be better for the article to have the AFD discussion (which will most likely result in a Keep vote). Author has nominated two other articles for AFD; those are a little closer cases. NawlinWiki (talk) 20:16, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unprotect

Hi
Could you unprotect {{Db-vandalism-notice}} and {{Db-attack-notice}}? I'd like to add an additional parameter "nothanks=yes" to the substituted {{db-notice}} template in them, per the request at WT:CSD#Changes?
They suffered from the same vandalism {{db-bio-notice}} did, which you unprotected following my last request.
Thanks & Cheers, Amalthea 22:24, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi NawlinWiki, I know you do a lot of good work with CSDs, especially the ones that I tag :)

I'm trying to really understand the criteria better. I got it so that almost all mine are not rejected, but I also follow up to see if the admin agrees with my criterion.

Anyway I've a question about the little effective list you put together. For the 6th one down, what criteria does that go under?

A word you just made up, especially if it "means whatever you want it to mean." See WP:NFT and WP:NEO.

I hate having to prod (or AFD) Wikipedia:NEOs, but I also want to have the right criteria too.

Thanks!

Please restore the above article. After I speedied once, permission was claimed upon recreation. Accordingly, the article was no longer a valid G12, and I followed the proper procedure, tagging it as a copyvio which hides the infringing text and listing at copyright problems. Nine times out of ten they never follow up, but I know when you found it you must have seen that I had already taken these actions, so I'm not sure why you would have speedied anyway, given that another admin had already acted.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 14:17, 17 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Excuse the intrusion, NawlinWiki ... To be fair, I didn't use the WP:FLAG-BAND protocol on this one, but went straight to tagging it with {{Db-band}} because it clearly stated that the band had never released an album on a major record label, so they did not meet the WP:BAND criteria ... Your recent deletion

Why did you delete Help:Edit conflict? -- IRP 13:41, 20 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I saw you restore the page.... Why? The article is promotional in tone and doesn't establish the notability of the book. Sure it's unusual, but Google doesn't bring up reliable sources. It's the only book by Bob Staake with a page of its own, even though The Red Lemon appears to be more notable (on the grounds it was shortlisted for an award from the New York Times). Move protection

Why do you indefinately move-protect pages that have only be vandalised once? According to Wikipedia's policy on page-move vandalism, there are three reasons for a page to be protected. I will use Utopia, as an example. "Pages subject to persistent page-move vandalism." — Utopia was moved once, so it is not "persistent". "Pages subject to a page-name dispute." — there's nothing of the sort on its talk page. "Visible pages that have no reason to be moved, such as the Administrators' noticeboard." — I believe this is refering to pages in the Wikipedia namespace or highly visisted pages e.g. Barack Obama. Utopia is not highly viewed. Can you please stop move-protecting pages? You are tarnishing Wikipedia's slogan: "the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit." Jolly Ω Janner 14:34, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wouldn't it be more detectable and less destructive if the vandal only moved several articles several times than having lots of articles moved once. Not to mention it's a waste of your time. Jolly Ω Janner 17:40, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reference

Did you mean to set Reference so that only admins could edit it? I can't see any reason for this, and the article needs work but no one can edit it.--Xyzzyplugh (talk) 20:40, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your "new account" blocks

Will you please stop blocking new accounts for no reason, particularly when you see me or other established users creating them? I've just received yet another "why has the account I requested you create been blocked" email (this time for User:The Boy Who Couldn't Stop Dreaming); there have been at least two others, plus no doubt countless more users haven't had the presence of mind to enable email – I notice plenty of other accounts I've created by request who have been blocked without making a single edit (User:Accident Waiting to Happen, for example).

"Edits from the same IP" is meaningless in the context of the UK, where not only are most IPs dynamic (I can easily get through a dozen IPs in an hour if I'm editing on a moving train and the connection is lost each time it goes through a tunnel), but most users of the "big three" IPs (British Telecom, Carphone Warehouse/AOL, Demon) are deliberately "throttled" through a very few IP proxies, so completely unrelated users can look like the same user if you only go by IP address.

As far as I can see, not a single one of the accounts I've created has ever gone on to vandalise; not every new user is a Grawp sockpuppet, and I'm starting to get extremely fed up with sending "no, we don't think you're a vandal, but I'd recommend you set up a new account as otherwise you'll be starting with a completely unfair entry on your block log which people will potentially hold against you" emails. – iridescent 20:36, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the deletion of the Moon Sand article

Hello Nawlin,

Please consider this a formal request for an explanation of how an article that provides cited information about a widely sold toy intended for use by young children is not noteworthy. Articles about Play-Doh and other modeling compounds exist in Wikipedia. Perhaps you will share something about any conflicts of interest you may have in this matter such as any involvements you may have in they toy, chemical, or PR sectors. Susten.biz (talk)

The article you wrote was deleted via Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Moon sand, the article was then recreated with "the best stuff ever" by user:Mgmtmoonsand and deleted A3 by Nawlin. Also, you might want to pay attention to our policies such as wp:N and wp:CIVIL your message here was extremely aggressive and rude assuming a COI.---Balloonman PoppaBalloonCSD Survey Results 10:51, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Ballonman, Thanks for the link to the Article for Delection page for the Moon sand article. I had not been able to find it. This is the first time an article I started has been through this process. This article was previously made invisible by a redirect to lunar soil when perhaps a disambiguation page would have been a more inclusive solution. I have been reading the notability pages and I stand by my request to Nawlin and await Nawlin's response. Questions of motivation and bias seem to be inevitable in a when editors choose not to identify themselves and share a bit about their like experiences and economic interests. Susten.biz (talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 01:12, 3 January 2009 (UTC).[reply]
As Balloonman said above, the entire content of the article when I deleted it was "the best substance ever." That hardly gives you grounds to think I have conflicts of interest -- and, for the record, I don't. I have not reviewed previous versions of the article and have no opinion on them. NawlinWiki (talk) 01:50, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
COI issues are more prone for people who are new and write articles on unknown products---especially, when the unknown party includes COI flags in their name--- mgmtmoonsand is clearly a COI account. Susten.biz, biz being short for business, could also be problemtic---just looked at your user page, and yes, your name is problematic.---Balloonman PoppaBalloonCSD Survey Results 23:42, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Matthew 16:2b-3

Comma Johanneum is exactly the same case. Similar passage, absent in many manuscripts. In Wikisource is no place for manuscript evidence, mss. which include, or exclude passage. There are also similar texts in Gospel of Luke and in Gospel of Thomas. In wikisource is not place for opinions and arguments of scholars. This article is not difficul expand above 5 000 scores, even above 10 000 scores. A lot of speculations. It exactly the same case like Comma Johanneum (1 John 5:7b-8a), but title. It was not titled "1 John 5:7b-8a" and nobody propose it for deletion. In a similar way, this article can be titled "the sings of the times", but is it really necessary. Perhaps the best way is to give title "the sings of the times (Matthew 16:2b-3)" and situation will more clear. Do you want change title? Matthew 16:2b-3 is much longer than 1 John 5:7b-8a. Arteyu (talk) 05:49, 8 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please refer to this Ken Binns article. This is the kind of article that SHOULD have been deleted. It has been there for more than 2 years and never have been deleted! It doesn't indicate any references or external links whereas in the article that I have created (Nasir Iqbal), I did put 2 external links, 2 references, stub template, 3 categories and it has also been added to a wikiproject. And also please take note, I didn't took the references from third parties website. Arteyu (talk) 06:11, 8 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nawlin, I'm sorry. I admit that I was in error. I'm going to stay out of WP:SSP for a while. Alaska Senate template

Could you please unprotect Template:USSenAK, or at least add Mark Begich to it? He took office last week. You protected it because it was on a high-visibility article, which I assume was Ted Stevens. I don't know how high-visibility that article is anymore, but that's your call. If you don't want to unprotect, at least please add Begich; the omission is bothersome. Much thanks! Advice please

Hi there, could you please advise me about how to handle this?

The following IPs have demonstrated a persistent history of vandalism and have been blocked numerous times. The have now learnt to stop vandalising for a period after they receive their final warning, and reverting editors generally start off with a level 1 warning again on the assumption that this is a shared IP. I don't believe that's the case.

212.219.242.12 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log)

212.219.242.13 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log)

I don't think that WP:AIV is the place to report this as, while the vandalism is ongoing, I usually catch it a few hours later, so not overly recent. These IPs are vandalism-only, but I don't know where to request a review of their actions and a block. --Deadly∀ssassin 20:49, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your latest addition to the title blacklist matches, among 1200 other titles, SA-14 Gremlin, H-46 Sea Knight, and 146.52 MHz. You really need to check your regexes before adding them. --Carnildo (talk) 21:56, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A question over your recent cleanups

I see that a couple of days ago, you undid a few redirects by a certain user, who pointed many normal articles to a new one named HEŖM_E_E_?, possibly breaking everything. Somehow, as a result of such redirects, such page as well as the page of the Indian actress Antara Biswas appeared in my normal watchlist and, frankly, I don't remember putting them up there, as I don't know such actress and I only watch pages that I've edited. Is this a side effect of the redirects, or should I be worried that my account has been compromised? I've not logged into my account since a couple of days ago, so I ignore what have possibly been going on. --Lashiec (talk) 12:50, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reformed Political Alliance

Hi! Why did you move Reformed Political Alliance to GPV? Wikipedia:ENGLISH states that English names are preferred. I think it can best be moved back. Even if one would prefer a Dutch name Gereformeerd Politiek Verbond would be preferred over the acronym GPV. C mon (talk) 18:50, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Barry M Cosmetics

Hi there

Hope you can help. I think you recently removed a page I was creating for Barry M Cosmetics Ltd.?

It was not my intention to make the page live yet as new references were required. However, due to my incompetence, it appears I did in error...

Anyway, it appears the page did appear live and that it was removed as it represented 'blatant advertising'. Barry M is a major UK brand with a retail presence in well other 2,000 stores. In fact, although, there appear to be no open sources for the info on the web, it's the UK's biggest cosmetics brand.

To include the brand information on Wikipedia is no different from providing entries for Mac, Rimmel and any number of other cosmetic brands that appear?

Any advice you could give would be greatefully recived and, if at all possible, I'd really appreciate access to my work which has now disappeared and which I would like to continue to edit until it's acceptable.

Thanks in advance.

All the best

I'm not particularly happy with the way you closed this AFD. It's indeed obviously unsuitable, but I'd prefer it if you used CSD#A7 for non-notable web content instead. I thought a psychotic sheep would be fun, so I looked it up and it exists, so it's not a hoax and since there's no obvious foul-mouthing or other abusive stuff, I think calling it vandalism isn't a good idea either. Re Source, Notability, Blatant Advertising

I believe I included a link to this site: http://cutleryscience.com which discusses some of the company in question's knives. This was intended as asource, - though it was not marked up as one - mainly because I dont know the correct markup and the wikipedia help and guidelines are too extensive, and when I have tried emulating the sources in existing articles I have not worked out the markup correctly.

The site http://cutleryscience.com is authored by a physicist (i.e. someone with a scientific background in materials, mechanics, interactions between moving bodies etc - i.e. the sort of stuff you need to evaluate a knife) who reviews knives from various manufacturers and as far as I know has no commercial relationship with the company in question. As far as I know the reviews on http://cutleryscience.com are on knives that people who have bought the knives send to him to review, so they are relatively blind in that the company whose knife to be reviewed does not know that the knife they are selling to some person will end up being reviewed on the site. I.e. cutlery science is a reasonably independent "source" - internet source anyway which is as much source as many Wikipedia articles have.

The other man source of expert discussion, i.e. discussion between collectors, users, manufacturers, metalurgists, insurance assessors and the like is a forum called blade forum. I did not include a link to that that because it requires membership to read.

The problem with a company like this (Busse) is that it is boutique and not likely to have much written about it outside of collector level users. I.e. the company is notable because people who know about such things discuss and purchase their products, not because they are widely known or widely written about.

The company is also notable because they produce a type of steel (INFI - mentioned in the stub page I tired to create) which has some very unusal and useful properties for the types of knives they make. Again however this is knowledge which is not often written about outside of a few forums.

Again you are not likely to find a whole lot of printed discourse in this area.

I do not understand why you consider the page I created to be advertising, apart from perhaps that it had a link to Busse's website. However it seems quite a reasonable thing to do - that is have a link to a company site in a page about a company - if the company has site.

Did you read the talk page I tried to create and I assume you also moved? Or do I need to repeat that here as well?

Would you be so kind as to address my statements here and on the talk page, as well as to tell me why you thought the stub was blatant advertising?

Essentially, we're having to take your word for it that "people who know about such things" find the company to be notable. We can't do that. NawlinWiki (talk) 12:16, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Locksport Reinstatement?

Any chance of reinstating the Locksport article(if that is even possible after such a long time...though I can probably dig up the text) and merge the TOOOL page? Presumably that is a far more valuable use of space, having the actual community discussed rather than one segment of it. Redirection of traffic from the Locksport page to another that is about a specific group of the locksporting community seems rather odd as well as having a ref to participating in lockpicking for the "hack value" but no actual info about the community...(also posting this on Nearly Headless Nick's talk, not sure where is best.) Hi you recently deleted the page OzRacingWrap. I believe the page is appropriate as to the best of my knowledge the podcast and site are the only independent podcast that covers Australian racing in the various series. All other podcasts of a like nature are from established media outlets.

I would therefore request you reconsider the deletion of the page.

Erik, Nawlin did not like the fact that I was top of the league table of admins by restorations and decided to do summink about it big time! I don't believe we have ever communicated even though we seem to do much the same admin tasks. This may be because our views on what is encyclopedic are very similar.

Protecting Grawp pages

As I have been keeping track of the new moves here, I've noticed that some of the pages have been repeatedly recreated. So, perhaps I could create a page with those titles and then it could be cascade-protected? The one problem with that is that, since I can't edit fully-protected pages, I wouldn't be able to update it with new ones (which should automatically be protected once added, unless I'm wrong about something). What do you think? ~ Troy (talk) 03:05, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • The cascading protection isn't necessary -- any admin can protect one of those titles from being recreated. Just email me a list if there are any we've missed. NawlinWiki (talk) 03:10, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. In the future, I will email any pages that need to be protected. But for now, anyway, the pages that still aren't protected are [3] and [4]. Cheers, ~ Troy (talk) 03:18, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is another page I've noticed that you've semiprotected indefinitely a long time ago (back in July, in this case). I think that it is an important feature of Wikipedia that, as a general rule, everybody can edit. I agree with your decision to protect a number of high-visibility pages against page-moves, but I thought it was standard operating procedure on Wikipedia that everybody should be able to edit. So I would ask you to lift the edit=autoconfirmed protection on that article, and in the future (unless there's been some change in Wikipedia policy, which I doubt since you're the only admin I've come across using this heavy protection feature) please only temporarily semi-protect articles. Having said that, I do agree that in a few cases, an indefinite protection is warranted, particularly pages on human reproduction. Thanks. -Lilac Soul (talk contribs count) I'm watching this page so just reply to me right here! 06:54, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WWF World Wide Fund For Nature Page

How do - disclosure: I work for WWF. On the wiki entry for our organisation there are several inaccuracies. Most notably in the 2nd paragraph it says we run 20 field projects each year. This wildly inaccurate. We currently run around 1300 [1]. Would it be possible for me to suggest a few changes that you can then review for impartiality and edit if necc.? This has all come up because I am trying to convince our species experts that it is OK for us to link to wikipedia so that our visitors can get additional background reading. Of course one of the first things they do is look up their own organisation, see the inaccuracies, and tell me that we can't link :-) Stedrayton (talk) 09:36, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
