Samsung Galaxy Round is the first smartphone with a curved display and body made by Samsung in 2013, which launched on SK Telecom in South Korea on October 10, 2013. It features a 5.7-inch, 1080p OLED screen, and a signature curved screen. It is 7.9mm thick and weighs 154g. It runs Android 4.3 Jellybean and has a 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, 2,800mAh of battery, and 32GB of internal storage.[2][3][4][5]

Specifications

Hardware

The Galaxy Round's design was intended to carry a more upscale, "premium" look in comparison to previous Samsung devices. Although it carries a similarly polycarbonate-oriented design to other recent Samsung devices, the Galaxy Round has a faux metallic bezel and a rear cover made of plastic leather with faux stitching similar to the Galaxy Note 3 sibling. With a thickness of 7.9 mm (0.31 in), it has a subtle curve on its back and is slightly thinner and lighter than the Galaxy Note 3.

The Galaxy Round uses a 2.3 GHz quad-core Krait 400 chip. The device also includes 3 GB of RAM, a 5.7-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera capable of filming videos in 1080p at 60 fps and 4K resolution at 30 fps (for only 5 mins), 32 GB of internal storage, and an elongated battery rated at 2800 mAh.[6]

Software

The Galaxy Round comes with Android 4.3 "Jelly Bean" and Samsung's proprietary TouchWiz user interface and software.

Additional features have been added to the Round's software such as Quick Glance which shows details like the time, date, battery level, and message badges when you hold down the Round's side on either edge of the phone. There are also tilt-to-play music controls; if the screen goes dark while music from your library is playing, a gentle bounce down the phone's right side to advance a track and the left side to go back activates the control.
