I have nominated Óengus I for a featured article review here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets featured article criteria. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. If substantial concerns are not addressed during the review period, the article will be moved to the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Delist" the article's featured status. The instructions for the review process are here. Hog Farm Talk 04:43, 26 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Requested correction at Talk:Moniz_Bandeira#Name

I request the completion of the article name who contains only the last names of the person. --Fah (talk) 10:25, 9 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Fah technically, there's nothing stopping you from moving the article to his full name. – robertsky (talk) 12:14, 9 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not technically - but my limited know how ;) so i would appreciate someone else doing it :) --Fah (talk) 20:44, 11 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Fah and the full name of the subject is? – robertsky (talk) 09:33, 12 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The full name ist, interesting enough, mentioned in the first sentence of the article. But if you perhaps feel it beeing to long, i suggest the version beneath his image, "Luiz Alberto Moniz Bandeira".Fah (talk) 18:10, 20 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have moved it to my best guess about the subject's WP:COMMONNAME. - Astrophobe (talk) 23:29, 20 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Obituaries

Is an obituary in The Times (or any other major national newspaper) sufficient to establish notability? See the discussion here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hugh Archer ("Sagette"). -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:17, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Edits by "new user"

Antimod made an account a few days ago. They started with just adding unnecessary wikilinks, which is kind of disruptive, but as soon as the autoconfirmation kicked in, they have been adding random citation needed tags to perfectly sourced information. Exclusively editing on biography and food science articles. Most concerning is this behavior at the David Beckham article, because of the amount and the article's prominence. Also of concern is the pattern of editing multiple articles, mostly through visual editor, within a few minutes. It looks strangely automated. But this isn't the editing behavior of a new editor, and it's just disruptive-without-being-vandalism enough to fly under radars while still being a massive detriment to the encyclopaedia. In a similar fashion to some other disruptive BLP editors I have noticed in recent times, they have a fascination with Judaism. Because of the line they walk, 1. it suggests they have enough knowledge of Wikipedia to know the line, and 2. there isn't enough concrete disruption to report. The username, anti-mod, is also concerning to me. For now, I think all we can do is be vigilant of their editing. Kingsif (talk) 13:58, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Help with Robert Rubin biography?

Greetings, I am working on behalf of the former Treasury secretary Robert Rubin to update to the article about him. (Because of my COI, I will not directly edit the article.) I am hoping someone here would be willing to take a look at my latest request. I'd appreciate anyone who would be willing to offer feedback or even consider making the proposed change. User script to detect unreliable sources

I have (with the help of others) made a small user script to detect and highlight various links to unreliable sources and predatory journals. Some of you may already be familiar with it, given it is currently the 39th most imported script on Wikipedia. The idea is that it takes something like

  • John Smith "Article of things" Deprecated.com. Accessed 2020-02-14. (John Smith "[https://www.deprecated.com/article Article of things]" ''Deprecated.com''. Accessed 2020-02-14.)

and turns it into something like

It will work on a variety of links, including those from {{cite web}}, {{cite journal}} and {{doi}}.

The script is mostly based on WP:RSPSOURCES, WP:NPPSG and WP:CITEWATCH and a good dose of common sense. I'm always expanding coverage and tweaking the script's logic, so general feedback and suggestions to expand coverage to other unreliable sources are always welcomed.

Do note that this is not a script to be mindlessly used, and several caveats apply. Details and instructions are available at User:Headbomb/unreliable. Questions, comments and requests can be made at User talk:Headbomb/unreliable.

Peabody Awards question

(copied from discussion I opened at BLP)

This may be more appropriate for Wikipedia:WikiProject Awards, but I have noticed inconsistency in how BLPs, specifically, handle Peabody Awards wins. Peabody Awards can be given to a variety of media, and broadly fall into two categories: personal and production. E.g. Martin Agronsky won a personal award, it was given to him, and Hailee Steinfeld was among the cast and crew cited when Dickinson received a production award. In both these cases, the Peabody is mentioned on the BLPs as their win, in the lead and awards.
The inconsistency doesn't really concern the personal awards, as I think it's clear those are for the person named, but when it comes to production awards there doesn't seem to be a standard for inclusion on BLPs of everyone mentioned in the citations across Wikipedia. The producers, typically, yes, but then in the case of Steinfeld, she gave the acceptance speech despite being part of the cast.
So, my question is whether we should include production Peabody Awards among the awards/honours on BLPs for everyone named in the citation, or if we should otherwise decide which categories of people should be mentioned, or if there should be no BLP mention of production Peabody Awards (leave it at the media, e.g. TV show, article)? Notice

The article Panos Mourdoukoutas has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence of meeting any notability requirements

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. — Fourthords | =Λ= | 22:47, 11 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Text corrections for Bill Ackman

Hello! Francis here, representing Pershing Square Capital Management. I've registered an account to propose article improvements, starting with the Bill Ackman biography. Given my conflict of interest, I'll be sharing suggestions on the discussion page instead of editing directly. So far, I've submitted requests to correct a dollar figure and update the title for Lawrence David Ackman in the "early life and education" section. Requesting help in assessment of a new article

Hello! Can I please request some help to assess the Somoza family stub I have been working on. Since starting on the stub I have added a substantial amount of content and various pieces of media (images and a timeline) so I think it is time for a reclassification. This is the first article I have edited on Wikipedia so I would appreciate any tips for improvement as I am aiming for a C- or B- class article. Thank you! Found this via Special:Random. It needs a fair bit of work, but I'm not an expert in this sort of field so thought I would discuss it here since its talk page doesn't get much attention.

I would do work on it with fellow editors if there's anyone willing to help.
