Elio is an upcoming American computer-animated science-fiction adventure film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. Directed by Adrian Molina, it stars America Ferrera and Yonas Kibreab and focuses on Elio Solis (Kibreab), a boy who becomes the intergalactic ambassador of Earth after being abducted by aliens.

Elio is scheduled to be released on March 1, 2024.

Premise

Elio Solis, an 11-year-old boy who can't fit in, finds himself transported across the galaxy and mistaken for the intergalactic Ambassador for our planet Earth, after making contact aliens.

Voice cast

  • America Ferrera as Olga Solis, Elio's mother
  • Yonas Kibreab as Elio Solis, a boy who accidentally becomes the ambassador of Earth.

Production

On September 9, 2022, during the 2022 D23 Expo Presentation, Pixar announced a new film titled Elio, with Adrian Molina directing and Mary Alice Drumm producing. It marks Molina as the sole directional debut of the film. That same day, America Ferrera and Yonas Kibreab were announced to have been cast in the leading roles of Olga Solis and Elio, respectively.[1]

Release

Elio is scheduled to be theatrically released by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures in the United States on March 1, 2024.[2]
