Edits

did you edit my bmets page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Goffy3 (talkcontribs) 15:36, 21 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I did edit "Bmets" by nominating it for deletion. It was merged into "New York Mets". But, since your contributions are published under the GFDL, it's not really "your" page ;). Take a look at this, for example. Happy editing, Airplaneman talk 23:04, 21 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Violin

I noticed on your userpage that you play the violin, but you don't have the violinist userbox! If you want it, here it is:

{{User violin}}

{{User violin-1}}

{{User violin-2}}

{{User violin-3}}

{{User violin-4}}

levels by adding -1 -2 -3 -4 to the end. Play well!-- fetchcomms 00:16, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Heh, it's at User:Airplaneman/Userboxes. I'm an advanced (and teenaged :D) violinist. Thank you though, and nice to meet you! Regards, Airplaneman talk 00:33, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I see. Keep on making music :)-- fetchcomms 00:52, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Messages from Yuan Lin

Thanks for the welcome. I really appreciate it. Yuan Lin (talk) 21:18, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

How did you know I edited that page so quickly?Yuan Lin (talk) 21:20, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I had it on my watchlist :). Happy editing! Airplaneman talk 21:22, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

When you have a lot of information from the same website, do you place the reference at the end of each sentence or at the end of all the information from that source?Yuan Lin (talk) 21:52, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You can name the ref, like this: <ref name="reference">http//www.example.com</ref> Then, in other places where you want to cite the same reference, just put <ref name="reference"/> to cite the same website. Another way is to use the {{cite}} template by doing the following (copied from an earlier post of mine):

Hope this helps :). Regards, Airplaneman talk 22:17, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It really helps a lot. By the way, I noticed that you made some changes to my new article Prelude in C minor, BWV 999. Thanks! :) Oh, and by the way, if you go to an article called The 39 Clues, you might find a lot of grammar mistakes. I haven't had time myself to correct them. Could you please do it for me? Yuan Lin (talk) 23:01, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'll take a look! Airplaneman talk 23:05, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You're right, it's a bit messy. I'll work on it in the coming days. Thanks for telling me about it! Regards, Airplaneman talk 23:14, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think this might interest you. There's a group that is dedicated to improving articles that are about Classical Music. Just go to Wikipedia:WikiProject Classical music/Compositions task force. At the middle of the article there is list of members (you'll see my name there). add #, a space, and three tides at the bottom of the list on the edit page and you're in the club! :)

Thanks for telling me about it :). I'll join now. Airplaneman talk 00:04, 29 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Correction script

Please do not use correction scripts on any page that is not in the article namespace (that is, the name has nothing before the beginning of the name like [[Albert Einstein]], or has just a colon, like [[:Albert Einstein]]. This is because such pages may have deliberate errors that are used to show what users ought not do.

Also, please do not change html entities that start with an ampersand and end with a semicolon into characters, because some of these characters look nearly identical in some fonts, and editors can't tell what they are. --Jc3s5h (talk) 01:31, 23 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry. I didn't know, and will make sure not to anymore. Thanks so much for telling me! Airplaneman talk 02:43, 23 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

PJ stuff

I'm back again! Could you take a look at this, please? #36, the part about the Companion books. (I can't figure out how to add that into the link. Any suggestions?) Thanks! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 03:07, 23 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Will do :) Airplaneman talk 22:48, 23 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
About the link, I was trying to figure out if there was a way to link directly to the section on the talk page, not just the talk page. It just seems as if it would make things easier. Thanks for the help! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 01:09, 24 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Here's how: type[[Talk:Percy Jackson & The Olympians#Companion Books Information?]] which will produce Talk:Percy Jackson & The Olympians#Companion Books Information?. The number sign's the trick! Airplaneman talk 01:24, 24 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Guestbook

Thanks for signing and fixing the # thingy! I had started it before learning about that Wikitext function thingy and then forgot to change it. Thanks again :D  fetchcomms 23:38, 23 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No problem :). It's nice to meet new people! Airplaneman talk 23:50, 23 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

PJ talk page

You could assign a bot, like User:MiszaBot II to automatically archive talk pages. Extremepro (talk) 11:56, 24 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That's true. I've been looking into it, but am still not very clear on how I can tell the bot how exactly I want the talk page archived. Airplaneman talk 21:36, 24 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
On MiszaBot's page, it says that consensus is needed to deem a talk page in need of automated archiving. Airplaneman talk 21:43, 24 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy Deletion Converted to PROD: Last Man Standing - The Drinking Game

Hello Airplaneman, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. I am just informing you that I have changed a page you tagged (Last Man Standing - The Drinking Game) from being tagged for speedy deletion to being tagged for proposed deletion. The speedy deletion criteria are very narrow to protect the encyclopedia, and do not fit the page in question. Please review the criteria for speedy deletion before tagging further pages. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know. Thanks again! JohnCD (talk) 21:10, 25 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

OK, that's fine. Thanks for letting me know. Airplaneman talk 21:11, 25 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I wish there was a speedy for these "made-up-one-day" things, particularly new words, new religions and new games; I have suggested it more than once, but never managed to get agreement. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 21:14, 25 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Same here; it seems logical. I might think of bringing it up again. More than once I've had to PROD or AfD silly articles that didn't fit the CSD criteria but were certainly qualified (the one mentioned above I thought could be counted as a hoax). I'll keep this in mind and will definitely consider bringing it up in the future! Airplaneman talk 01:51, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Saint Nicholas Society in the City of New York

I was able to find references to expand Saint Nicholas Society in the City of New York, which you had tagged for speedy deletion. I think that notability is now clear. – Eastmain (talk) 03:01, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I see. Thanks for letting me know! Airplaneman talk 03:03, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikiproject Warriors

Welcome to wikiproject warriors!

As the other memebers appear to be inactive, I have taken it upon my self to welcome you.

Anyways, thanks for joining, and I'm sure you can help me a lot, since I'm still a fairly new user.

Brambleclawx (talk) 03:30, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! I'll try to help where I can, especially in the article-imporving area. I'm still learning, too (check out some of the posts above) but if you have a question, I'll try my best to answer it. I'm also active in the Percy Jackson Task Force. Thanks again for the welcome, and I look forward to working with you! Airplaneman talk 03:35, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think you noticed this on the character list page, but its on every page: the ord priority is used instead of importance, so none of the pages have an importance rating. I started fixing them, but its kind of tedious. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Brambleclawx (talkcontribs) 03:59, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'll pitch in, starting...now! Don't forget to sign your posts :). Happy editing, Airplaneman talk 04:01, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and don't forget to look at the importance criteria (linked on the notice)!Airplaneman talk 04:04, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've done all of them! BTW, we should do something about "Warriors thunderclan". It's a copy from the list! Airplaneman talk 20:17, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, actually, I've put a suggestion for it to be merged on that page. and is there any sort of gadget that will remind me to sign my posts, cuz i forget a lot Brambleclawx (talk) 23:42, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I'll merge the page when we move Thunderclan's "real" page into the mainspace from your subpage. I don't think there's a gadget to remind you to sign your posts, though. Sorry. Well, I'm going to start a roll call for the Warriors Project. I'll post more info on the talk page in a sec. Airplaneman talk 23:46, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm fine with the rainbow border you made, but the green you chose is a bit blinding/distracting, so maybe choose a lighter green...? Brambleclawx (talk) 21:52, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind, I did it myself. Brambleclawx (talk) 23:22, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is what I envision as the current characters page after I finish the split, but I need help adding citations.

List of characters in the Warriors novel series

Brambleclawx (talk) 20:01, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Looks good! Airplaneman talk 20:11, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
One thing: I suggest we just put Blood Clan on the main page - it's so short already. It's a bit awkward to have Blood Clan at the end of a whole list of Sky Clan cats. Otherwise, I think we can move these pages into the mainspace and update the current article accordingly! Regards, Airplaneman talk 20:18, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Good idea Brambleclawx (talk) 20:26, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I was looking over all the other pages, and I'm realising that a lot of links (on the pages themselves, and on other warriors pages), will need to be fixed. Brambleclawx (talk) 17:08, 29 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dell Adamo in MacBook Air

Hi Airplaneman, thanks for the message. The Dell Adamo comment read to me as more like trivia and seemed out of place in the MacBook Air article. It's interesting no doubt, but I didn't get the impression it really belonged, which is why I removed it. I also feel the phrasing, "At the time of release, Apple described…" was enough to imply that there would be obvious future contesters for 'thinnest laptop' status. If you specifically mention Dell Adamo, does that mean any thinner laptops in the future will also need to be listed there alongside? EssentialParadox (talk) 00:47, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for responding :). In my view, though, I don't think every laptop has to be listed. The way I think of it is that one could benefit from knowing that the Apple's claim that the Air is the thinnest laptop was, and will be, contested. In this case, the Adamo was used as an example. Regards, Airplaneman talk 02:43, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Inappropriate CSD nominations

Hello Airplaneman. In reviewing CSD nominations, I have noted that two of your recent nominations (Pimpinela and S dnem rozhdeniya Vika) sucked (i.e. were not in accordance with policy). Please be more careful when tagging other contributors' work for speedy deletion. We're getting a bad rep (e.g., the WSJ front page article earlier this week) because of reflexive actions such as the ones you took. -- Y not? 15:30, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for my crappy contributions! But, thanks for letting me know :). I'm still learning, but don't want other people to lose something (like an article they wrote) in the process. I hate biting newbies and others in general... after reviewing the articles, thought they were in accordance with the policy. I'm sorry that they actually weren't. I'm aware that I wrongly took Alexandr Astashenok to be the band (he was the writer) in S dnem rozhdeniya Vika, and will be sure to be more careful. Nice to meet you, Y, and again, thanks for notifying me. Regards, Airplaneman talk 20:22, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you...
