Brazilian president Dilma Rousseff with part of the national Olympic delegation in the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre prior to the commencement of the Games.

Brazil is competing at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, United Kingdom, from 27 July to 12 August 2012. The nation does not have any representation in the sports of badminton and field hockey in these Olympic Games.

Rio de Janeiro being the host city of the 2016 Summer Olympics, a Brazilian segment will be performed during the closing ceremony.

Swimming

Brazilian swimmers have so far achieved qualifying standards in the following events (up to a maximum of 2 swimmers in each event at the Olympic Qualifying Time (OQT), and 1 at the Olympic Selection Time (OST)):[9][10] Glauber Silva obtained qualification for 100 m butterfly event but was removed from the Olympic team after drawing doping suspension.[11]

Qualifiers for the latter rounds (Q) of all events were decided on a time only basis, therefore positions shown are overall results versus competitors in all heats.
