This is a complete alphabetic list of all players who won the Stanley Cup (cup) with year(s), team(s) and total wins. All known players from each winning team from 1893 to 1923 are included. Since 1924 all players engraved on the Stanley Cup are listed. Any player who qualified, but whose name was not included on the Stanley Cup, is also listed.

Rules for qualifying to win the Stanley Cup
  • 1893 to 1926 – played one game for the winning team during the regular season or the Stanley Cup playoffs, or included in the team picture.
  • 1926 to 1970 – played 1/2 the regular season games (and was not traded to another team) or played one playoff game.

Some players who qualified were left off the Stanley Cup, while other players who did not officially qualify were still included.

  • 1971 to 1976 – played in the playoffs (a player who played at least 1/2 the regular season games and was left off the cup is included on this list).
  • Since 1976 – played at least one game in the Stanley Cup Finals, or 1/2 the regular season games, and was still with the winning team after the NHL trade deadline.

Between 1978 and 1993: 11 players who did not qualify still ended up having their name engraved on the Stanley Cup.

  • Starting 1994 – Team may request exceptions to the rules. The National Hockey League (NHL) has the final say on any request for additional names.

* Note – Extra information

  • 1. Any player who qualified, but was left off the Stanley Cup is included with information on how they qualified.
  • 2. Also included with info is any person who had a non-player position and played in at least one game for the winning team that season.
  • 3. Any player who did not officially qualify but was included on the cup, has information about why they are on the cup.
  • 4. Any player who played in the playoffs, but was left off the Stanley Cup, because they did not qualify.
