according to the sources here and here also as per my research Balraj Singh was the 1st Runners-Up and Ramanjeet Singh and Prince Narula were declared joint 2nd Runners-Up. if you have any WP:reliable sources that claim that he was the first runner-up your welcome to add the same information again but please do not add without any WP:reliable sources. I am new on Wikipedia. Please help me.if any mistake is in Mohit Baghel page then you help me that how do I improve it. Thanks User:Mandaleshwar Singh Gurjar —Preceding undated comment added 07:17, 14 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Mandaleshwar Singh Gurjar, The article you created possibly fail WP:GNGACTOR according to the user who added AfD and also possibly the case of Wikipedia:Too soon that why it's being considered for deletion. I also can not find any WP:reliable source about the claim of notability. If you think the page should stay and meet WP:GNGACTOR please provide more reliable sources about the subject and please do not remove the AfD template again also in future don't forget to sign your comments or post by using four tildes please read Wikipedia:Signatures to learn how to sign. The Asian Month Barnstar

Hi GSS-1987, I have added one external link (Mumbai Local Trains) in Mumbai Suburban Railway page. History shows that you had removed the link last time with a comment that its a promotional link. Just to let you know that, www.mumbailocaltrains.com is a website which shows all possible routes within Mumbai suburbans and it's a very useful and unique feature for Mumbaikars to plan their travel and non other website provide this feature. As it is related to Mumbai suburban railway, I have added the link in mentioned page. Please let me know your views. Mumbai suburban routes (talk) 12:53, 20 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Mumbai suburban routes and welcome to my talk page, I removed the link as per WP:LINKSTOAVOID and WP:PROMOTION. As you said You are very new to Wikipedia with only 3 edits and that edits you made only to add your website link. I have removed the link again and I request you please read the guidelines carefully before adding any external links. GSS (talk) 17:28, 20 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Advise needed

I added a website to the Profile of Priyal Gor , priyalgor.co.nf but it couldn't be added! I know it's not official page and is created by me. Is there any way to get it acceptable. What if the actress Priyal Gor herself agrees for it to be added? If she agrees will send u a verification of it if its ok? Ayush karn (talk) 18:19, 13 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Ayush karn and welcome to my talk page, I checked this website myself and as I explain earlier this website doesn't seems official and I also can not find any reliable source which can prove that this is the official website of Priyal Gor nor her official facebook page mention it as her official website. It's better if you cite a reliable source to support your claim because as per this information it seems this website is created and controlled by a fan. Please read WP:ELOFFICIAL and WP:External links guidelines to understand more about adding official links. GSS (talk) 19:02, 13 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

bigg boss 9 edit

Hello. This is here to say that Mandana Karimi was 2nd runner up of bigg boss 9 so kindly Dont mark the 'evict' in front of her name with pink color. She is supposed to be marked ' 2nd runner up' with Yellow colour. Thank You. Dinesh kanwar singh (talk) 10:41, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Dinesh kanwar singh, I agree that you are trying to add her as second runner-up but as per Template:Big Brother endgame which we can not change without a discussion at Big Brother endgame Template talk page and also there are no 2nd or 3rd runner-up in Bigg Boss they called one of the top 4 or top 3 finalist then runner-up and then winner. I suggest you to start a discussion at Big Brother endgame Template talk page and ask if there is a solution to do so. Cheers GSS (talk) 11:11, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

7 more days to create or expand articles

Hello, thanks a lot for participating in Geographical Indications in India Edit-a-thon. We understand that perhaps 7 days (i.e. 25 January to 31 January) were not sufficient to write on a topic like this, and/or you may need some more time to create/improve articles, so let's extend this event for a few more days. The edit-a-thon will continue till 10 February 2016 and that means you have got 7 more days to create or expand articles (or imprpove the articles you have already created or expanded).

Rules

The rules remain unchanged. Please report your created or expanded articles.

Joining now

Editors, who have not joined this edit-a-thon, may also join now.

Reviewing articles

Reviewing of all articles should be done before the end of this month (i.e. February 2016). We'll keep you informed. You may also check the event page for more details.

Prizes/Awards

A special barnstar will be given to all the participants who will create or expand articles during this edit-a-thon. The editors, who will perform exceptionally well, may be given an Indic Geographical Indication product or object. However, please note, nothing other than the barnstar has been finalized or guaranteed. We'll keep you informed.

Request to remove the speedy deletion tag

please give us some time to update the article according to Wikipedia guidelines. As i am completely new to Wikipedia give us some time to do the necessary changes . — Preceding unsigned comment added by Amitbairagi (talkcontribs) 09:08, 17 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Amitbairagi, I took this page to AfD because its entirely depended on the sources about Hrithik Roshan's presence at the launch and the tag is a link to the discussion. The tag cannot be removed until the discussion is over. The discussion typically runs for 7 days. At the end of 7 days, the discussion is examined to determine if the consensus is to keep or delete the article. If the consensus is to keep, then the tag will be removed and the article kept. If the consensus is to delete, then the entire article will be deleted. You are, of course, welcome to join the discussion, but unless you can provide more independent reliable sources. Thank You GSS (talk) 09:18, 17 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Nirdesh0908 and welcome to my talk page, The link you are trying to add is not a reliable source and adding external links to an article or user page for the purpose of promoting a website or a product is not allowed per WP:LINKSPAM. Hi, as you can already guess, I have created the Casper the Friendly Ghost in film page, and I was just wondering how to create a featured snippet for it, and if you do not know, do you know someone who does, so they can help. DonJakes (talk) 13:33, 30 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much! for the branstar. Am not sure if I get what you are asking but if you want to feature your article you may need to follow WP:FACR or just place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask for help there, am sure someone with more knowledge about it will come to help you. Ali Asghar Khan (Politician)

An unknown user had added some text to Ali Asghar Khan Politician article which seems an attempt to defame the person without any proof. The case which has been mentioned by you is a sub-judicial matter so using such wording before court verdict would be injustice to an individual. So i am deleting the portion. If you want to add the this, i would request you to re-phrase it. Thanks

Hello Mnskhan, The reason why I reverted your edit was clear in edit summary (Unexplained removal of content). You are removing the information which is clearly sourced ([1][2]). Am reverting your edit again as it's well-sourced if you want to remove that particular information again I request you to start a conversation at Ali Asghar Khan's talk page and give a valid reason. Please don't forget to sign your posts by typing four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your comments. Thank You – GSS (talk) 04:38, 2 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, my main concern was the wording used in start like 'lofty claims being clean politician' 'illegal plaza' , from where the writer got this claim? and how one can decide illegal?Secondly, if you click the citation links both news headings are 'Court directs EPA to inspect sites of plazas in Abbottabad' and 'SC stops chopping of pine trees for construction of plazas'. Please review. Mnskhan 09:51, 2 April 2016 (UTC)
I have cleaned up the first line as you requested which was not sourced but the rest information is well sourced. If you still feel there is something wrong please add your comment at Ali Asghar Khan's talk page. Again please always sign your posts by typing four tildes (like this ~~~~) at the end of your comments. Thank You – GSS (talk) 12:22, 2 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Kerim kerimov

You removed an edit about kerim kerimov where I stated he was raised in a muslim family, why is that? Here are sources that prove my point. I have a small request that you are more objective when monitiring this website and not letting your religious or politic views to decide the outcome.

http://muslimobserver.com/kerim-kerimov/ http://irep.iium.edu.my/21151/ https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Muslim_scientists http://www.scribd.com/mobile/doc/20853911/Timeline-of-Muslim-Scientists-and-Engineers

Hello 85.197.162.208, I reverted your edit because it was unsourced as stated in my edit summary (Failure to cite a reliable source) but it doesn't mean that you can not repeat. You are most welcome to do so again but please cite a reliable source to support your claim. If you need any help you can ask me here or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Happy editing – GSS (talk) 08:20, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding to The List of Prime Ministers New Zealand.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Prime_Ministers_of_New_Zealand If you check, it says Leafy. That is not the NZ Prime minister, that is a Youtuber. John Key is the real prime minister — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.151.140.141 (talk) 11:53, 14 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

NY Methodist

The NY Methodist page has not been vandalized. I have added information supported by major media sources including the NY Times. This page is largely generated by Lyn Hill, who is NY Methodist's director of PR, and has been noted to have the appearance of an advertisement. The bulk of this article is PR, without citations. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.189.34.1 (talk) 17:55, 19 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If you see any problem with the article I suggest you to report it at New York Methodist Hospital talk page where someone with more knowledge about it can review the article. Thank You – GSS (talk) 18:03, 19 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Asking for your help in updating our page

Hi GSS-1987, I am a consultant working with a company in the US called Tuition.io. Our Wikipedia page is out of date, and we have hoped to figure out how to update it, but we have heard it is a bad idea for us to try to do this ourselves. More than two months ago I requested edits on our Talk page but got no reply: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Tuition.io

One of our advisors, Lee_Schwing, today tried to make some edits on our behalf but those edits were reverted. I am new to Wikipedia, but from what I could see, it looked like you were the one who made these reversals.

Can you please help us solve the issue of the Tuition.io page not being up to date? I had posted various well-sourced content additions and multiple media article references on the Talk page for Tuition.io for your reference.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide! We are lost here and do not understand Wikipedia editing and what is the best way to proceed.

Thank you! Sue Suesweet (talk) 18:15, 19 April 2016 (UTC) Suesweet (talk) 18:15, 19 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Suesweet and welcome to Wikipedia, I reverted this edit because it was totally unsourced. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or in other media and per WP:NOR articles must not contain original research. The contents also seems promotional to me rather than neutral point of view. There's a page about the NPOV policy that has tips on how to effectively write about disparate points of view without compromising the NPOV status of the article as a whole. You are more welcome to update the page but please make sure to follow NPOV policy and must cite reliable sources to support your changes.
For now I have marked the page as outdated and sent you a welcome message on your talk page with large table of about 60 links which will help you get the most out of Wikipedia. Please always sign your posts by typing four tildes (~~~~). Happy editing – GSS (talk) 19:32, 19 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks GSS-1987 - I appreciate your help. I read the information you sent me and made several updates already. Question for you, how do I remove the warning at the top "this page is outdated?" Thanks! Suesweet (talk) 02:51, 21 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest not to remove it by yourself let someone else to review the changes and once they are done it will be removed. Thank You – GSS (talk) 06:10, 21 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Speedy Deletion of Bookeventz

Hey, The article created by me for Bookeventz was given a deletion tag in past 24 hours because some one was linking the page to various websites which was considered a promotional activity. I want you to know that the person creating links has been identified and has been warned against linking the page to different websites. Hence I request you to make the article on Bookeventz live again. I had created this article after enough efforts as this is my first article. Rahul Kanjani (talk) 05:54, 28 April 2016 (UTC)Rahul Kanjani[reply]

Hello Rahul Kanjani and welcome to Wikipedia, I took this page to speedy because the article didn't indicate why its subject is important or significant, and failed the general notability guidelines criteria plus you fail to cite reliable sources per WP:WEB. If you want to create your page again I suggest please create a draft and once you are ready with your draft, send it for the review also don't forget to cite reliable sources to pass notability. Thank You – GSS (talk) 15:14, 28 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know about second Nomination Kindly judge this article based on facts and reference many people try to create article it may be name resemble or anybody might have done mischievous work but this article is purely true with reference — Preceding unsigned comment added by Joshua786 (talkcontribs) 09:42, 29 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Not done @Joshua786: The article does not indicate the notability per WP:BIO plus the sources are not independently depended on the subject so until the discussion going on the AfD tag can not be removed. If you have any comments you are most welcome to join the discussion here. Thank You – GSS (talk) 11:35, 29 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Sunil Sharma

I have created a page yesterday Sunil Sharma, it has been removed. I have cited all important links even newspapers clips too, that man is first who got the highest package from India in 2012 . That page can be useful to the students and others readers too. Priya225 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 08:17, 30 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The article failed to indicate the importance or significance of a real person plus it also failed to pass WP:PERSON and the sources were not reliable per WP:RS to support notability. The article already has been deleted so many times so if you are thinking to re-create it please cite reliable independent sources to pass WP:Notability and WP:BIO. Please always sign your posts by typing four tildes (like this: ~~~~) at the end of your message. Thank You – GSS (talk) 13:31, 30 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

speedy deletion tagging of Rambir singh sangwan

sir, can you please reason me for your request of speedy deletion of this page. Sangwansunny (talk) 11:16, 5 May 2016 (UTC)sangwansunny[reply]

The guy has also left the same message on my talk page. I requested that his autobiography be speedily deleted, and materialscientist deleted it about half an hour later.
https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Log&page=Rambir+singh+sangwan
It was then recreated and you tagged it. Then Hullaballoo decided to remove the tag with the very rude comment of 'abusively hasty and inaccurate speedy tagging, claim of significance sufficient to defeat A7 evident', obviously unaware that it was an autobiography. This is what happens eh. David.moreno72 (talk) 11:49, 5 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Sangwansunny and David.moreno72: The page has multiple issues: Autobiography, Unsourced plus I fail to find any source that claim WP:notability. After it defeats A7 I tagged it as WP:BLPPROD and since then not even a single reliable source been provided to support notability. GSS (talk) 12:31, 5 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello 106.192.52.151, The article about Shrey Singhal does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject and failed to pass WP:NOTABILITY and WP:BIOMUSIC.  Question: Why you or someone else created this article in lowercase as Shrey singhal rather than Shrey Singhal is there any particular reason for that? Thank You – GSS (talk) 05:42, 10 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, but please review

GSS, you are a great help to Wikipedia but this feud we are having is not. The link contains ORIGINAL photos that are not only 100% on topic, they are some of the best available on the internet for the Container Terminal topic. This has nothing to do with advertising and everything to do with the interest of our readers. The small advertisement at the bottom does not negate the quality content found on that page. Please review the media gallery again, the photos and also the FOOTER that mentions educational uses. Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Foxdirect (talkcontribs) 09:48, 10 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Per WP:LINKNO you can not add links which primarily exist to sell products or services, or to web pages with objectionable amounts of advertising and the link you are adding is linked to a website which sell Shipping Containers. Your edit has been reverted again so please do not add any link again which only indicate to promote a website. For more information please read WP:LINKNO, WP:ADV and WP:LINKSPAM. Thank You – GSS (talk) 12:09, 10 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Kaytranada's sexuality

Hey, I originally added the section about Kaytranada's personal life with the revelation that he's gay. I added as the source the interview in which he made that revelation. I don't know why someone changed the section to say that Kaytranada is bisexual, because that actually contradicts what he himself said in the article that I cited as the source. 2001:1C00:1307:E00:98F0:473:4E0F:5E47 (talk) 22:47, 14 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I read that you create/improve articles about Indian geography. Villages de page vi bnaye ne wikipedia te but sade shehr da page kise ne wrongly edit kr ke wrong information add karti. One User [| Ravikiran Singh ] changed information. (this user was fake & blocked from wikipedia now).
Jis ton baad bots & other countries de moderators ne isnu spam te wrong mark kar ke sangrur district page te redirect krta.

it is just like your this page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apra,_Punjab

Correct Revision History of DHURI PAGE: [REVISION Link Here ]
Dhuri is a city in Sangrur District in the state of Punjab, India. It is located on the Ludhiana-Sangrur State highway(SH 11) highway. The neighbouring Cities of Dhuri are Sangrur 14k.m in the South, Malerkotla 20k.m in the North, Nabha 30k.m in the East, and Barnala 35k.m in the West. It is a part of the historical Malwa region of Punjab.

I want to correct our city page but bots & mods again add redirect to district sangrur page. :( PLEASE CORRECT THIS REDIRECT IF YOU CAN. Thanks a lot.

Hello 117.205.68.145, and welcome to my talk page. I just saw the history of the page and found multiple issues (lack of sources, vandalism and WP:HOAX) so one of the editor redirect the page to Sangrur district per WP:BLAR. Thank You – GSS (talk) 09:08, 23 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

GSS-1987 Right- typographical errors and lack of citation was an issue on my part. Though if this was an issue with you and you noted error- the minor error could have been removed through a quick edit on your end if found controversial rather than added to a longer array of network for deletion of the main page. Information icon Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made to 2016 Orlando nightclub shooting: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. RA0808 talkcontribs 21:34, 2 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello RA0808, Yes I already know about it and I warn users a lot if I found them vandalising. In this case, I found this edit as good faith edit so that's why I didn't warn the user but I forget to revert it as good faith. Thank you for your tip. Cheers – GSS (talk) 08:17, 3 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Jeet (1996 film)

Regarding the sentence I have added to the Jeet (1996 film) page, there is no 'point of view' problem and it is not vandalism. Did you even read the sentence? It is just a point of trivia and causes no such problems. Please do not revert again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.182.141.246 (talk) 20:37, 4 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

First I reverted your edit as good faith edit (see here) and secondly everyone know who is Karishma Kapoor and her parent so there is no point to mention "Herioin" and "real life parents". Hello GSS, it is very nice to see your enthusiasm about the running editathon to increase the number of articles related to Punjab, However, I noticed that you might have forgotten to add WikiProject Banners on the talk pages of the articles you create, furthermore, you have missed to add {{Punjab editathon 2016}} on the talk pages of articles that you are making for the purpose of edit-a-thon. A request to you

I happened to visit the Punjab Edit-a-thon page today, where I found out a list of recently created articles by you. All of them cite unreliable user-generated sources, which are prohibited as per WP:USERGENERATED. e.g. census2011.co.in and onefivenine.com are managed by HK Jain & jagan eedula respectively, both of whom are common people. Same is true about the villageinfo.in. And all of your articles in that list solely cite these three websites. More unfortunately, it seems like the other 'top performers' are also citing these three user-generated sources.

Why don't you use GoI's official census website? e.g. censusindia.gov.in is the official 2011 census website and you can search any Indian locality here. Similarly, you can find PIN codes here, which is India Posts' official website. BTW, sorry for being a party pooper! - NitinMlk (talk) 17:46, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello NitinMlk, Actually sometimes it's really tough to find postcode for particular village/town on India Posts official website especially for me and yes i just noticed other 'top performers' at Punjab edit-a-thon are citing same sources. I think because I was the first who started creating geographical articles at Punjab edit-a-thon and by looking at my performance other users started the same maybe because it's easy to create geographical articles. Anyways thank you so much for the advice and I will look forward to update all the non-rs sources with reliable sources and yeah party poopers are always welcome as far as they have a worthy reason. Cheers – GSS (talk) 18:48, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@GSS-1987: You are right that finding reliable sources for Indian villages is next to impossible. In fact, censusindia.gov.in is more or less the only reliable source for these villages. BTW, it would be great if you could explain the above points to the other two 'top performers' because you seem quite social & they would take it well. On the other hand, I, with my red-linked username, will look like a tormentor. :) BTW, keep up your brilliant work! - NitinMlk (talk) 14:53, 19 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Sure NitinMlk, I will ask them for the same on their talk page to use censusindia.gov.in rather than other three user-generated sources hope they take it serious and yeah ur true sometimes some users don't take it serious if you have red-linked username. Thank you for your advice once again. Cheers – GSS (talk) 15:21, 19 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

✅ Done @NitinMlk: I have requested and explained the above points to the other two 'top performers' at their talk page. GSS (talk)

@GSS-1987: Thanks! I forgot to tell you that, like most GoI's creations, the censusindia.gov.in sucks. And it might not load many times. In those scenarios, you will have to revisit it after few hours or may be the next day. That's why I saved the relevant cited page of Kotli Than Singh at the Wayback Machine. - NitinMlk (talk) 21:04, 19 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@NitinMlk: Yes you are right it happen most of the time and in that case, Wayback Machine is the best option. GSS (talk) 14:40, 20 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Page mover granted

Hello, GSS-1987. Your account has been granted the "extendedmover" user right, either following a request for it or demonstrating familiarity with working with article names and moving pages. You are now able to rename pages without leaving behind a redirect, and move subpages when moving the parent page(s).

Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Page mover for more information on this user right, especially the criteria for moving pages without leaving redirect. Please remember to follow post-move cleanup procedures and make link corrections where necessary, including broken double-redirects when suppressredirect is used. This can be done using Special:WhatLinksHere. It is also very important that no one else be allowed to access your account, so you should consider taking a few moments to secure your password. As with all user rights, be aware that if abused, or used in controversial ways without consensus, your page mover status can be revoked.

OAAA Wikipedia Page

Hi there,

I'm the OAAA (Outdoor Advertising Association of America) digital content coordinator and recently it has come to our attention that a pr scam artist deleted our page and offered to "rebuild" it for a fee. I've been trying to reinstate our page but I keep having my content deleted. This time it says due to copy write infringement.

I'm linking everything on the page to content on our site that is open to the public and not material violating copy write laws. Thsi is basic association content we want the public and members to see.

Can you help me? I really need this nightmare of a task to be over with. I'm not familiar with Wikipedia editing at all. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Billboard OOHAd (talkcontribs) 20:09, 8 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, as an update I'm updating the first paragraph with new language but still sourcing. Let me know if this is more along the lines of what needed to be changed.

Again, I'm not familiar with this and honestly just trying to get this done by staff meeting next week. Billboard OOHAd (talk) 21:07, 8 August 2016 (UTC)BillboardOOH Ad (or Kate)[reply]

Hello Billboard OOHAd, I reverted your edit because the contents was directly copied from this and some other websites. Please note Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material, including text or images from print publications or from other websites, without an appropriate and verifiable license also in your last edit you failed to cite reliable third-party sources to support your change and per WP:SPS self-published media are largely not acceptable. In future when you add any information please include third-party reliable sources to support your changes and also please read WP:TONE and Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not to learn more. Happy editing – GSS (talk) 12:34, 9 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Okay so the language that I added was not from the site but just a summary. So since it wasn't copied language it just needs other third party sources correct?
We had a page prior, is there anyway to just get that back? It was up for years without issue or being flagged but our last manager didn't save the html code. Billboard OOHAd (talk) 13:06, 9 August 2016 (UTC)Billboard[reply]
@Billboard OOHAd: As per deletion log the page was removed six times because of Wikipedia:Copyright problems and if you want the contents back from an older version you need to ask to the admin who deleted the page that time and if you want to expend this page you need to cite third party reliable sources to support your changes and the contents must be writen from a neutral point of view per WP:NPOV. Balloons

Balloons isn't a fake entity. Its a proper independent short film and have provided enough IMDB, article links to prove that it exists. Please don't delete the page.Preetiahluwalia (talk) 16:08, 31 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Preetiahluwalia, as you know creating an article with different name or spellings not going to work until the subject is notable and the article you or someone else created failed to survive at AfD which is only 1 day old (See previous discussion). To have an individual article the subject must pass WP:GNG and WP:NF. GSS (talk) 16:20, 31 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The previous ones were created by amateurs and I apologize on their behalf. This one is genuine and I expect you to please retain it, based on the links I have attached. There are going to be more web articles published on the internet in a few coming days, but for the moment whatever have, I have linked them. The film is notable, just that its extremely niche at the moment, but definitely not a fake entity and therefore I expect you to retain it. Please lift the deletion ultimatum.Preetiahluwalia (talk) 16:59, 31 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The film is available on IMDB:http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi464827929
As well as a notable Pakistani web magazine has written about it too:http://www.hipinpakistan.com/news/1148360
More articles will follow in a few days. But for the moment these links should be enough for you to lift the deletion. Please. Its a humble request.Preetiahluwalia (talk) 17:04, 31 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Please don't be so hard on newer/developing film titles until and unless they are a sham-which 'Balloons' is not. Please co-operate. Lift the deletion. Looking forward. :-)Preetiahluwalia (talk) 17:32, 31 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
As I explained earlier that the subject failed to pass WP:NFILM and previous AfD so I can not lift the speedy until the article meets notability criteria. GSS (talk) 18:09, 31 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please tell me a few ways how to make the article eligible for notability criteria. As in what should be done?Preetiahluwalia (talk) 23:25, 31 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Are you sure this is G4-eligible? I thought G4 only applied to pages deleted as a result of deletion discussions. Rebbing 15:16, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Rebbing: Yes because actually this is the recreation of an article which is itself currently protected against recreation and was deleted via a deletion discussion (see the previous discussion).
No, it wasn't: nothing was deleted as a result of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gubbaare; rather, the discussion was closed within a day because the article was speedily deleted. Speedy deletion doesn't preclude recreation, and the fact that the article happened to be under discussion at the time doesn't change matters. Also, SALT evasion isn't covered under G4. Rebbing 15:35, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I also request to NeilN to compare these two titles I mentioned above. Cheers – GSS (talk) 15:27, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
No, it was not deleted because of the deletion discussion. That's my whole point. It was speedy deleted outside the AFD. --NeilN talk to me 15:30, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
And "author requests deletion" to boot! I've nudged the original AfDer to suggest that they refile it. Note that there's some socking going on here: "author requests deletion in response to AfD and then recreates article under a new title from a new account" is one of the older and more boring tricks in the book. --McGeddon (talk) 15:32, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It seems to me that, if the current Balloons (2016) article is substantially similar to Gubbaare, previously speedied under A7, you should be able to use A7 on it again. Rebbing 15:35, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Whoops! G7, not A7. It looks like McGeddon's onto something. Rebbing 15:36, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
My apologies I just notice that it was a non-admin closer and the result was G7 and I have already requested the SPI here. GSS (talk) 15:39, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ajayan Vinu

Hi GSS-1987, I just now noticed that the page Ajayan vinu was to renamed to Ajayan Vinu without leaving a redirect. Could I humbly request you to put a redirect or advise me how to do it and I shall do it ?

Many thanks in advance. Klakhiusa (talk) 13:19, 4 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Klakhiusa, As per MOS:NAMECAPS and WP:TITLE there is no need to have redirect from Ajayan vinu. Please read Wikipedia:Naming conventions (capitalization) to know more about naming an article. GSS (talk) 13:36, 4 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Sorry, but failing NFILM isn't a valid reason for speedy deletion. The only areas that can be deleted for lack of indicated significance (not notability...) are people, organisations, named animals, web content and organised events (under A7), or recordings that are not notable where the performer does not have an article here (A9). Everything else had to go to prod or AfD (where notability rather than mere significance is taken into account. I agree that the film is not notable, but it'll have to go the seven days (and then the AfD when someone removes the prod, probably). Peridon (talk) 18:13, 13 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Peridon, That's fine I knew it will happen lol was just trying to give a try if it can happen in this way but yeah the film is not notable not even close to WP:NFILM so if someone removes the prod without providing any reliable source I will take it AfD for sure. Hello Anoptimistix, The page has some issue which needs to be fixed, no doubt you cited reliable sources (e.g. zeenews.india.com) but the source remain self-published because the subject of the article works for Zee News so it need additional Third-party sources to support notability. You can find more sources about Rohit Sardana by clicking on any link below (e.g. news) but please avoid citing sources from zeenews.india.com or its parent website(s) also the article must be written from a neutral point of view please read WP:NPOV to learn more.

India-Pakistan conflict restrictions

Hi GSS-1987. An edit of yours violates an ethnic claim restriction placed on India-Pakistan conflict articles. Please read the restrictions here and please read the notice in the section immediately above this one. Thanks.--regentspark (comment) 02:05, 2 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Also, this edit of yours is canvassing, a practice that is strongly discouraged on Wikipedia. Generally, neutral notices on a noticeboard (e.g., on WT:IN or WT:PAK are fine. But explicitly asking a group of editors can give the appearance of canvassing. Please don't do that and stick to neutral messages on noticeboards instead. Thanks. --regentspark (comment) 02:10, 2 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hello RegentsPark, Well I never wanted to be a part of edit war but some users here are provoking and seems to have much more interest in articles against India (e.g. this and this) but anyways am just watching these page for hoax and vandalism and if I found something I will surely take action against it. Template message added to David Joy (author) wiki

Responding to message sent, "It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from David Joy (author). When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. The template message regarding "listed sources may not be reliable" was removed from the page because all cited sources link directly to primary documentation. The citations for book publications are direct references to the publishing houses (i.e. Putnam Books of Penguin Random House, and Blair Publishing), the citations for awards and honors are direct references to published news articles and/or press releases from the organization responsible for the award or honor, the citations for stories and essays are direct links to the publications where the story or essay appears, the citations for the interviews and television appearances are also direct links to the publications where the interviews appear, and any and all other documentation is cited by information obtained from the author's official site. All of these references adhere to what is deemed a reliable source by "Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources" criteria (i.e. the definition of "published" and "news organizations" in regards to "statements of fact."). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.176.135.212 (talk) 14:39, 12 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The "blog.largeheartedboy.com" citation is a direct link to a reputable and incredibly well known literature and culture blog, Largehearted Boy, with thousands of worldwide followers and the citation provided is a direct link to an interview with David Joy (author). Blocking policy

Conversation with Sandeep Gill at SPI

Comments by other users

Accused parties may also comment/discuss in this section below. See Defending yourself against claims.

  • This might be a case of mere suspection. This user has contributed to Punjabi Wikipedia as well unlike the other user who has only made some contribution to English Wikipedia only. The block should be lifted so he can keep contributing.--Satdeep Gill (talkcontribs 08:06, 13 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • @SpacemanSpiff and Bbb23: It must be a case of meat puppetry or undisclosed paid editing because this user repeated the same trick (adding surname within brackets) which earlier used by other socks on multiple pages and I don't think any normal new user do that on the particular name which already has a deletion log. GSS (talk) 14:18, 13 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Samdeepsinghone was registered on Oct 6, 2016 at Punjabi Wikipedia and made only 8 edits so far (verify). GSS (talk) 14:41, 13 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, this is a new user on Wikipedia itself but I just wanted to point out that there is a difference in the activity of this user. A normal new user would not know the gravity of creating an article that has already been deleted. Can someone please check the unblock request from the user and ask for more clarification if required ? --Satdeep Gill (talkcontribs 02:44, 16 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Satdeep Gill: Don't you think its really unusual a new user repeat the same thing that master and other socks has done. This user added surname in brackets and I don't think any new user do that rather than naming it simple. Am also not getting why you are very much interested in his/her unblock I never saw you doing this before on any SPI, earlier you said this user is active on Punjabi Wikipedia where s/he only made few edits. GSS (talk) 03:37, 16 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@GSS-1987: I am requesting for unblock because the article has been restored and that we can let the user contest the deletion of the article. I just said that this user has contributed to Punjabi Wikipedia which makes the activity different from other editors. Although it is unusual but we should also not rule out that the use of brackets might just be coincidental. This is causing harm to Wikipedia as other articles created by the user are also up for speedy deletion. --Satdeep Gill (talkcontribs 04:07, 16 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Satdeep Gill: Well likewise the master AwardPunjabi has contributed to Wikinews which can not make him unrelated/different to other socks. There are some more coincident you may look. Samdeepsinghone repeated the same contents at Giddarbaha which earlier made by Harwy134 and other socks see diff here and here. Samdeepsinghone also repeated the same behaviour Irregular punctuation see here by Samdeepsinghone and here here and here by others. GSS (talk) 04:36, 16 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. There are some similarities here. I would like to see what the user has to say about this.--Satdeep Gill (talkcontribs 12:43, 16 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Sure take your time and let's see if s/he tell the truth. GSS (talk) 13:36, 16 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Found some more behavioral evidences, Samdeepsinghone repeated the same thing which Rahul0500 did at the time of his block as when Bbb23 posted block message on Rahul0500 talk page he then requested unblock within the same template rather than adding the {{unblock}} template at the bottom of his talk page and Samdeepsinghone also did the same mistake (See diff here and here) also the use of very is common in both users (e.g. user Rahul0500 said from this very moment and Samdeepsinghone said At that very time see here and here). GSS (talk) 18:47, 16 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Tokyogirl79 Yeah as per the behavior of this editor seems more related to the group and last night I realize one more thing about Irregular punctuation which Samdeepsinghone denied on his talk page by saying I cannot distinguish a irregular punctuation mark as it was a mistake made by me but I saw his Facebook profile and almost on every post he added Irregular punctuation which are more related to the group Rahul0500 (e.g. this post). GSS (talk) 05:37, 17 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I understand now that there is a lot of behavioral evidence in this case but I would just like to ask that how can a user contribute if he has been wrongly blocked ? I mean what is the enwiki policy on this ? And do we insist that users once blocked must not be able to contribute ever ? --Satdeep Gill (talkcontribs 06:34, 17 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Satdeep Gill: If a user been blocked they can request unblock by simply adding {{unblock|reason here}} at their talk page along with a explanation please read Wikipedia:What to do if you are blocked and WP:BANHAMMER. You can also read Defending yourself against claims at SPI. If a user actually is guilty of sockpuppetry, and want to get a second chance at editing, they can follow these steps listed at WP:SOCKBLOCK but Sockpuppeteers aren't often unblocked—since they've acted dishonestly, it's hard to believe them—and the administrators certainly aren't going to unblock the sockpuppet account. GSS (talk) 07:13, 17 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Wang Sicung

I undid your striking of Zheing's vote on the AFD for Wang Sicung. I can find no evidence of him being identified as a sock. If you have evidence, feel free to revert. If not, wait for evidence. 104.163.141.133 (talk) 11:35, 18 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation from Wikipedia Asian Month 2016

Thanks for partipating Wikipedia Asian Month last year, and I hope you enjoy it. Last year, more than 7,000 articles contribute to Wikipedia in 43 languages in Wikipedia Asian Month, making us one of the largest event on Wikipedia. We will organize this event again in upcoming November, and would like to invite you join us again.

This year, we are lowering down the standards that you only need to create 4 (Four) articles to receive a postcard (new design), and articles only need to be more than 3,000 bytes and 300 words. We are also improving our postcard sending process, e.g. making the postcards right now, and collecting the address after the event ends without waiting other languges.

Wikipedians who create the most articles on each Wikipedia will be honored as "Wikipedia Asian Ambassadors". We will send you both digital copy, and a paper copy of the Ambassador certificate.

Thank you for considering! --AddisWang (talk)

Hi, could you please redirect John Gilbert (scientist) to Non-stick surface. I don't know how to do it. New deal for page patrollers

Hi GSS,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Punjab villages

Hi there, great job creating all those articles on the Punjab villages! It's impressive that those are not mere 1-2 sentences stubs! Just one suggestion: if the article contains the category "Villages in X district", it should not contain the parent category "Villages in Punjab, India". Since "Vilages in X district" is a child category of "Villages in Punjab, India", the article is already included in the category tree. See WP:SUBCAT. Once again, thanks for all the new articles. utcursch | talk 03:35, 15 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Utcursch: Thank you for your suggestion. I will keep in mind and also thank you for removing the parent category you saved a lot my time. Cheers – GSS (talk) 06:54, 15 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The article cite unreliable user-generated sources, which are prohibited as per WP:USERGENERATED. e.g. census2011.co.in and onefivenine.com so please try to add some reliable sources and let me know if you need help also please don't forget to sign your posts in future by typing four tildes (like this ~~~~). Hi, can I interest you in this challenge? You do a lot of good work with Punjab villages which would make welcome entries for India as part of it!♦ Dr. Blofeld 19:17, 20 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Dr. Blofeld:  Thank you very much! for your invitation. I'm busy in Wikipedia Asian Month at the moment and I don't think I can use same article on both sides but for sure after WAM I will participate in The 10,000 Challenge. Cheers – GSS (talk) 08:39, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The Asian Challenge is part of Asian Month, we're encouraging Asian women articles in particular. Articles can be contributed to both at the same time and there are already people doing that!♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:15, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Dr. Blofeld: Oh that's cool because I have created many articles for WAM and still creating more but all of them are based on geographical locations so if it's alright I will start listing them at The 10,000 Challenge. Cheers – GSS (talk) 13:03, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

New Page Review - newsletter

Hello GSS,
Breaking the back of the backlog
We now have 798 New Page Reviewers! Most of you requested the user right to be able to do something about the huge backlog. Now it's time for action.
Mid July to 01 Oct 2016

If each reviewer does only 10 reviews a day over five days, the backlog will be down to zero and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
Let's get that over and done with in time to relax for the holidays.

Second set of eyes

Not only are New Page Reviewers the guardians of quality of new articles, they are also in a position to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged for deletion and maintenance and that new authors are not being bitten. This is an important feature of your work. Read about it at the new Monitoring the system section in the tutorial.

Getting the tools we need - 2016 WMF Wishlist Survey: Please vote

With some tweaks to their look, and some additional features, Page Curation and New Pages Feed could easily be the best tools for patrollers and reviewers. We've listed most of what what we need at the 2016 WMF Wishlist Survey. Voting starts on 28 November - please turn out to make our bid the Foundation's top priority. Please help also by improving or commenting on our Wishlist entry at the Community Wishlist Survey. Many other important user suggestions are listed at at Page Curation.

WAM

Thanks for contributing a lot of articles into WAM. I think your articles look good. I would only suggest you can use one reference in multiple paragraph to make sure each paragraph has a reference. It's not mandatory though. Best Wishes!--AddisWang (talk) 21:08, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Besides that, good job! You are very likely entering into the global top 3 that can receive a Wikimedia T-shirt from WMF.--AddisWang (talk) 21:10, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Oh I don't think I understand this line: Most of the people are from Schedule Caste. The town does not have any Schedule Tribe population so far.--AddisWang (talk) 21:20, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@AddisWang: Thank you so much for appreciating my work. I have added a new reference in demography paragraph on each article (see here) and as per your suggestion now all paragraphs has a reference. The schedule caste constitutes 0% of total population in some villages but I have removed that line. Please let me know if anything else to improve. Thank you once again – GSS (talk) 03:45, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

StarMaker speedy delete

Hey! I saw you re-added the speedy delete tag on this article. I removed it because I thought there might be enough secondary sources available elsewhere to establish notability and salvage it. (I put a note on the Talk page.) But if you think that speedy delete is more appropriate, feel free to leave the tag! Sorry for the unclear edit summary, I'll try to improve my phrasing. Mineffle (talk) 07:31, 2 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Mineffle: Replied at Talk:StarMaker. Thank you – GSS (talk) 07:37, 2 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
