Managing a conflict of interest

Information icon Hello, Uyarafath. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. James (talk/contribs) 15:27, 30 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Limnesh Augustine, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion, which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to remove speedy deletion notices from pages you created yourself, as you did at Limnesh Augustine, you may be blocked from editing. reddogsix (talk) 14:53, 25 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Limnesh Augustine requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

I read the talk page. I also read the content that speaks so glowingly of its subject: just like the message at the talk page, the article praises him with "renowned" and talk of his technical expertise. Please consider if you'd used such language in your dissertation and imagine what your committee's reaction would have been. Minus that content, nothing particularly significant about him appears; it's a matter of "no indication of significance", as plenty of people get in Guinness. The article Indian Association of Clinical Cardiologists has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

References used only mention this organization. I cannot find anything better in my search for references. Holding off on AfD in hopes that someone can add more sources to demonstrate WP:CORPDEPTH.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Jade Mya

Please refer to WP:PAID and make the required disclosure if appropriate. Thanks. --CNMall41 (talk) 22:33, 8 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, @CNMall41: -Sure. If I get paid I must disclose it. That is my responsibility. Thank you.Uyarafath (talk) 03:43, 9 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Based on what I found, I believe disclosure would be necessary. If I am wrong, please let me know. --CNMall41 (talk) 20:25, 9 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, @CNMall41:. Whenever I get paid for contributing to Wikipedia, I disclose the details in the respective talk page. As of now, I am not paid anything to this particular article. If I get paid I will sure disclose it in the article talk page. I respect always Wikipedia guidelines. Thank you for your valuable replies. Looking forward to get more input from such experienced person to improve myself.Uyarafath (talk) 04:53, 10 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Just seems strange that you uploaded a commercial image to a Wikipedia page and were not paid to do so. Especially since the original image appears to have been uploaded on Flickr only one day prior, by a person who is the founder of a marketing company that advertises Wikipedia editing as a service. --CNMall41 (talk) 17:15, 10 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, @CNMall41: - You are 100% correct. I was asked from a person to create an encyclopedic content with neutral view about Jade Mya. But, I haven't been paid by anyone and even from the person who requested me. So if I get paid, immediately I will disclose it. Whenever I am requested to make encyclopedic content on any subject and if I get paid I disclose it. You may visit these talk page Talk:Comparison of authentication solutions Talk:Elliott Michael Smith where I disclosed. I am always ensuring neutrality and notability and I never make any content for promotional for anyone. If any such, people like you always help me to correct. Thank youUyarafath (talk) 06:51, 11 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. Sorry to sound accusatory. It just seems strange that "a person" asked you to create an article and you are not being paid, despite the fact that the image uploader is the founder of a marketing firm that sells Wikipedia editing services - not to mention you have disclosed being a paid editor for a few other pages. There is nothing wrong with having a COI as long as you edit from a neutral point of view; however, having a financial interest that you do NOT disclose is against Wikimedia's TOU. My main concern is the possibility of paid edits that have not been disclosed. Also, I am not sure if what you said about being asked to create a page still constitutes a conflict of interest or not. I will likely just bring it up at WP:COIN to get an opinion as I don't know for sure. Thanks for the clarification. --CNMall41 (talk) 19:23, 11 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, @CNMall41: - Okay. Got it. The person who asked me to create this article is running a marketing company. I clarify, I am an individual, not employed in any such marketing company. I am informed I will get paid if page sustains from the person. Thank you so much for all your information and guidance my dear friend. Also please visit to my user page where I declared COI. Is it fine? please correct if anything.Uyarafath (talk) 05:37, 12 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Final warning

Although you have disclosed your paid editing for some articles, your editing here is very very problematic as you've been adding false tags and have even removed speedy deletion nominations on articles you've created. In addition, the poor quality paid articles are creating unnecessary work for other editors. Any further disruptive behavior in any form will result in your editing privileges being completely withdrawn. —SpacemanSpiff 12:58, 28 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi User:SpacemanSpiff, What happened? What is wrong with me? I have stopped my paid service after the COIN discussions. Suddenly why are you giving warning? Did I edit anything after COIN discussion?. I deleted 'speedy deletion nomination' but that was sometime back not now. After understanding the guidelines I haven't deleted anything.I do follow Wikipedia guidelines only. Please correct me if anything wrong. I again inform you guys that I am not doing any paid editing currently, voluntarily I contribute proper encyclopedic articles only after COIN discussions. Please go through my recent logs, if anything wrong kindly mention it. Thank you.Uyarafath (talk) 16:29, 28 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
And I didn't have any alternate accounts. It is the only one account I am using. I never hide my face and identity for anything. Thank you.Uyarafath (talk) 16:33, 28 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I did not see the COIN discussion prior to my note here, but your disruption on here has been very very problematic and is a time sink for volunteer editors. —SpacemanSpiff 02:57, 29 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
