List of prime ministers of the Czech Republic
This is a list of Prime Ministers of the Czech Republic, a political office that was created in 1993 following the dissolution of Czechoslovakia.
The Czech Republic is a parliamentary representative democracy, with the Prime Minister acting as head of government and the President of the Czech Republic acting as head of state.
The first Prime Minister of the Czech Republic was Václav Klaus, who is currently serving as President. The current Prime Minister is Petr Nečas, in office since 28 June 2010.
Usually during the period of changing person in the office there are two Prime Ministers at the same time, one that is leaving and one that is designated. This period can be as short as one day (as with Gross and Paroubek) but often it is longer and the longest period yet recorded is of 31 days (Topolánek and Fisher).
