List of ongoing armed conflicts

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by 82.139.113.21 (talk) at 20:03, 20 January 2015 (→‎100–999 deaths per year). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

Locations[1] of ongoing conflicts worldwide, January 2015
Major wars, 10,000+ deaths per year
Wars and conflicts, 1,000–9,999 deaths per year
Minor skirmishes and conflicts, fewer than 1000 deaths per year

The following is a list of ongoing armed conflicts that are taking place around the world and continue to result in violence. This list is for the sole purpose of identifying present-day conflicts and the death toll associated with each conflict. Note:

  • Fatality figures include both civilian and military deaths unless otherwise indicated.
  • Listed conflicts are at least 100 cumulative deaths in total and at least 1 death in current or past calendar year.
  • Military conflicts that no longer produce violence are not listed here, but can be found in the historical list of wars and the list of wars extended by diplomatic irregularity.
  • Fatality totals may be underestimated or unavailable due to a lack of information. A figure with a plus sign indicates that at least that many people have died (e.g. 455+ indicates that at least 455 people have died) - the actual toll could be considerably higher.
  • Only states with ongoing military activity are listed, past states and states where conflicts are no longer active are omitted.
