GNZ48 (G.N.Z. Forty-eight) is a Chinese idol girl group based in Guangzhou, China. It is one of SNH48's sister groups formed in 2016, together with BEJ48.
History
2016
- April 20, Star48 announced the establishment of SNH48's two sister groups, BEJ48 and GNZ48. At the same time, it started holding auditions for first-generation members.[1]
- April 29, the opening of the GNZ48 Theatre, Team G began its 1st Stage, "Theater no Megami".
- May 6, Team NIII began its 1st Stage, "Boku no Taiyou".
- July 13, GNZ48 started their School Tour, similar in format to SNH48's School Tour.[2]
- August 26, held the "Love Music Wing Up" GNZ48 Dream Departure Show Case Concert at Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.
- September 19, released their debut EP, "You Don't Know Me".[3]
- October 1, Huang Lirong and Xiang Yun were added to Team G, and Zeng Aijia and Gao Yuanjing were appointed captain and vice-captain respectively.[4][5]
- October 2, Dai Xinyi and Li Yihong were added to Team NIII and Liu Lifei and Liu Qianqian were appointed captain and vice-captain respectively.[6][7]
- October 23, the announcement of 18 first-generation members assigned to Team Z.[8]
- November 1, auditions are held for second-generation members, the first ever at a global scale.
- November 11, Team Z began its 1st Stage, "Exclusive Party".
2017
- January 16, released their 2nd EP, "BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!".[9]
- March 24, Team NIII began its second stage, "First Person".[10]
- April 8, held the "GNZ48 Fan Culture Festival".[11]
- April 13, released their 3rd EP, "I.F".[12]
- April 20, held auditions for BEJ48, GNZ48 and SHY48 third-generation members.[13]
- April 29, announced 14 second-generation members during GNZ48's first anniversary.
- July 28, released their first documentary, "7/48" (GNZ48 四十八分之七).
- July 29, along with SNH48, BEJ48, SHY48 and CKG48, held auditions for SNH48 ninth-generation, BEJ48, GNZ48 and SHY48 fourth-generation and CKG48 second-generation members.[14]
- August 11, Team G began its third stage, "Two-Faced Idol".[15]
- September 15, Team Z began its second stage, "Code Linhexi".
- September 16, Team Z anounced Nong Yanping as Captian and Long Yirui as Vice-Captian; also anounced new stage “Trigonometric function”（三角函数）will be coming this year.
