The 2020 Puerto Rico gubernatorial election will be held on November 3, 2020, to elect the governor of Puerto Rico.

Due to the public response to Telegramgate, Ricardo Rosselló of the New Progressive Party, who was elected in the 2016 election, announced he will not run for reelection on July 21,[1] and that he would resign effective August 2.[2] Wanda Vázquez is in line to succeed him as governor.[3]

For the Popular Democratic Party, Carmen Yulín Cruz, the mayor of San Juan, senator Eduardo Bhatia, former senator Roberto Prats, and Carlos Delgado Altieri, the mayor of Isabela, Puerto Rico, are running.[4][5]

Senate leader Thomas Rivera Schatz will seek the New Progressive Party of Puerto Rico's nomination.[6]
