Please remove any existing {{copy edit}} tags from the article to avoid edit conflicts during the copy edit.

Please note:

  • No request by an unregistered editor will be accepted unless the IP has done significant work on the article. Drive-by IP requests already on the list may be declined by any editor.

  • If you plan to nominate the article for good article, A-class or featured article status, please wait until the copy edit is complete before nominating it.
  • Having your article copy edited by our team does not guarantee that the prose will be considered acceptable during any of the above reviews.
  • You may have up to two open requests at any one time. This is enforced so that every request can have a fair chance of being fulfilled within a reasonable period.

I have been working hard on this popular article, but my copy skills are just bad. Besides, the article had gone through quite some edit wars in the past, making the copy even worse. Please lend a hand. I promise to be around to react to every questions and instruction, and actively collaborate if needed. Thank you. Aditya(talkcontribs) 13:26, 18 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot, a huge lot. One thing: the lead is work-in-progress, so feel free if you want to add to it (it doesn't summarize the article at all, at least not yet). TeacupY Here's a cup of tea to keep you alert while editing that mammoth of an article. When this is over I hope we can have a big tea party with everyone who helped this article. Aditya(talkcontribs) 00:47, 27 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Needs c/e in the plot. I hope to write it tomorrow. Krish | Talk To Me 19:36, 18 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Eventual MILHIST ACR. Warning, it's a bit of a long one. Mostly just work to make sure the phrasing is clear and clean. Hog Farm Bacon 20:49, 19 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Just needs a quick work of the lead as copyvios shows. The language there is a bit odd though and could use a kick anyway. This gnome would appreciate it. Jerod Lycett (talk) 10:41, 21 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Jerodlycett, is it just the lead that you want looked at? Looking at the article's history it seems there had been some edit warring going on, though it appears to have calmed down now. —Tenryuu 🐲 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 20:53, 24 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Since this article contains virtually no citations I have tagged it. I would suggest this request be declined. Thoughts? Twofingered Typist (talk) 14:26, 30 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Agree; with so few sources, IMO a copyedit would be a waste of time now. Miniapolis 23:11, 30 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
no Declined With this ragequit, we're unlikely to get feedback. Miniapolis 23:16, 30 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
(For the record, the text in the lead is basically unchanged since 2010, and the page linked in the copyvio report exists in archive.org only as far back as 2017. This doesn't prove anything, but the text on the linked page is likely to be a copy of Wikipedia, meaning that we would not be hosting a copyright violation.) – Jonesey95 (talk) 01:29, 31 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting a copy edit in preparation of a featured article review. Since the last copy-edit a year ago, the article has been substantially updated, and parts have been rewritten from scratch. Gog the Mild, you indicated in March you might be interested. Still up for it? Femke Nijsse (talk) 18:07, 21 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Femkemilene: Gah! You have caught me at a bad time, both RL and Wikipedia wise. I would like to take it on, but just can't at the moment. I have watchlisted it and will check back in a couple of weeks if things ease off. Gog the Mild (talk) 18:21, 21 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Gog the Mild, No worries. I'm struggling with RSI myself, so wouldn't mind a delay that much. Good luck with RL! Femke Nijsse (talk) 18:30, 21 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Would like to upgrade to GA (GAN) at some point in the future. PanagiotisZois (talk) 12:16, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I would like this article to be copy edited as I will be taking it to FAC in the not-so-distant future. The article has been a GA since 2013 and it underwent a major expansion quite recently. I expect some images to be added to the article in the near future (if all goes right with copyrights, etc.) and I would be grateful if the person to do the copy edit would also help me in the FAC process, as I do not feel entirely confident about the quality of my English and my grasp of all the nuances of its punctuation, not to mention its proneness to ambiguous, yet seemingly clear constructions. The article uses some music terminology, but perhaps a copy edit by someone unburdened by that "jargon" is just what the article needs. Toccata quarta (talk) 16:44, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I should perhaps add that there are some questions that I would like the copy editor to help out with, though they are not that many in number. You may refer to Talk:Kaikhosru Shapurji Sorabji#Copy edit, January 2013 for how this was done before the 2013 [GA nomination], but again, I don't expect it to be anywhere near as long. Thank you. Toccata quarta (talk) 06:47, 12 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I would kindly like to request a thorough, comprehensive, and in-depth copyedit to improve the overall flow and structure of this article in preparation for GAN and DYK nominations. I look forward to working with one of the GOCE copyeditors throughout this intensive process. West Virginian (talk) 13:37, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It's a relatively short article which took me a while to write and I would very much like your help with the style, which could be much better. ty, Sadkσ (talk is cheap) 04:05, 5 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Article reads like large blocks of text, definitely need some copyediting. LΞVIXIUS💬 00:08, 6 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

CCN: Requesting copy edit of mid-importance physics article in need of verve and thorough language-trimming. The scientific content of the article is not overly complex and should be understandable to a general audience but the windy and awkward prose would rock anyone to sleep. I am a subject expert and have worked on the lead (ao). I believe I made the contents better but arguably further worsened the state of the language. Laura sf (talk) 10:18, 6 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

PS: there is also a lot of personification of inanimate objects. I am ofc happy to assist if these corrections require input from an expert in physics. Random example: "The purpose of the cavity is to select optical frequencies ": I think (but not 100% sure... I def could be wrong too, hence this request) 'selecting' is a verb too active for an inanimate object. The physical reality is that the cavity can only trap light of specific frequencies. This physics article is a recently-failed GAN, which I reviewed. The science in the article is very accurate, but also detailed and technical. It is not yet at GA, but a lot of work has been done on it, prior and during the review, and it now meets all the six criteria (WP:GA?) except Criteria 1. The help of an experienced copy editor would be very much appreciated here. Amitchell125 (talk) 08:09, 31 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
