Monteverdi is a crater on Mercury. It has a diameter of 138 kilometers.[1] Its name was adopted by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) in 1979. Monteverdi is named for the Italian composer Claudio Monteverdi, who lived from 1567 to 1643.[2]
