Cotton ball diet
Appearance
A cotton ball diet is a diet that involves consuming cotton balls dipped in liquids such as juices and smoothies.[1] The diet is used to make the stomach feel full without gaining weight.[1]
Health risks
The cotton balls can cause blockages in the digestive system.[2] Blockage in the intestines could result in dehydration, death of the human gastrointestinal tract and damage to internal organs.[3] The diet will also result in a nutrition disorder.[3]
The diet can also cause choking because the cotton balls cannot be broken down and must be eaten whole.[3] Toxins in the synthetic ingredients of cotton balls can build up over time and cause organ damage.[3]
The diet has been repeatedly condemned as dangerous.[4]
