D.O.B. ?

[edit]

In the first line she has 2 date of births listed. Which one is the correct one? \(^o^)/ 19:05, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This looks like it was fixed. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:06, 9 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Confusion

[edit]

There are at least 3 "notable" persons by this name, and we have the birthdays of two of them. I would hope the original creator of this page will get to work to disambiguate and improve, or remove the page. docboat 14:03, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 6 February 2020

[edit]
The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: not moved - no consensus (closed by non-admin page mover) DannyS712 (talk) 06:16, 14 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

– A seiyuu with nearly 30-years a career is probably the primary topic. Either her or Atsuko Tanaka (artist). ミラP 16:48, 6 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

However, the artist and the animator also have lengthy careers. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 01:40, 7 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
A more clear study of this is needed. —BarrelProof (talk) 01:47, 7 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Pinging Dolovis who created the disambiguation page. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 01:52, 7 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

[edit]
The following is an archived discussion of the DYK nomination of the article below. Please do not modify this page. 5x expanded by Miraclepine (talk). Number of QPQs required: 1. Nominator has 52 past nominations.

ミラP@Miraclepine 16:20, 26 August 2024 (UTC).[reply]

  • Alrighty. I've got this nomination watchlisted, so I'll come back in a couple days and see how things are going (personally, I've always believed that interviews published in reliable sources are still fact checked, and even self-published primary sources are accepted for non-controversial things, but...) — Chris Woodrich (talk) 23:41, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Upon checking, LeónGonsalvesofGoa (whom I'm informing of this DYK) hasn't edited in the past five days. Should I give them a few (maybe three) days before I let someone else decide on the tag or would it be more practical to skip straight to the latter? I'm leaning the latter because I want this done quickly, but I feel the former is more courteous since I asked them anyway (earlier today I might add). ミラP@Miraclepine 03:10, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
QPQ: Done.
Overall: Article is new enough, 5x expansion on August 22nd. Appeared in ITN, but as an RD, which per WP:DYKNEW does not disqualify the article. Earwig's does not check for plagiarism in foreign-language sources, but based on Google Translate, I don't see any paraphrasing / copyright issues. I prefer the panda hooks (and note that the source indicates that she was identified by the host, which is hilarious).  — Chris Woodrich (talk) 09:57, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Notability?

[edit]

The majority of this article references interview material. Are there any significant references to justify its notability? LeónGonsalvesofGoa (talk) 03:14, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@LeónGonsalvesofGoa: There are WP:OBITUARIES (namely those that establish NACTOR notability) from RS like ANN, Crunchyroll News, IGN.com, Game Developer, Nintendo Life, Siliconera, and Tokyo Weekender, so GNG should be met. Also, most of the PL&D and career section (especially the latter's third paragraph) are sourced to said sources, as well as news sources in general. While the EL&C section is mostly WP:INTERVIEWS, they are still in quality news sources and about the subject herself by the subject herself, so I think it should be fine content-wise. ミラP@Miraclepine 15:55, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and so with this and the fact that I added secondary sources after the tag was added, I'm removing the tag. ミラP@Miraclepine 16:21, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
My reply was delayed due to feeling unwell. However, I had the chance to review the policies you referenced and moved the tag to the appropriate section. According to WP:INTERVIEWS, this woman is discussing herself (i.e., non-independent). Are you familiar with the outlets that published the interview? LeónGonsalvesofGoa (talk) 16:19, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@LeónGonsalvesofGoa: Mebuku is a newsmagazine based in Maebashi, and the interview has a short bio of Tanaka. Original News is a section of Niconico News which produces original content, including interviews like Tanaka's, and Niconico News is in turn cited by ANN and SoraNews24 (which seems reliable per this AFD comment). If it helps, both were done by journalists affiliated with the sites (the latter almost certainly; there's no interviewer name, though such isn't uncommon in Japan). So, yes, I don't think this is a situation where having most of the section based on interviews would be problematic. ミラP@Miraclepine 18:23, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@LeónGonsalvesofGoa: Sorry this was late since I got busy and almost forgot but per WP:BRD, i have to ask you: am I good to remove the tag? ミラP@Miraclepine 17:33, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
My apologies for the delayed response. Your explanations have clarified the issue in question. I’ve removed the tag. LeónGonsalvesofGoa (talk) 03:18, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
