Wikipedia:WikiProject Community rehabilitation

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected from User:Juliancolton/Project)

This project is, broadly speaking, a group of editors devoted to supporting and further developing the community of the English Wikipedia and making contributors, both tenured and inexperienced, more comfortable. The tentative plan is that the project will thrive on user-created proposals, as explained below. If there is sufficient support for a particular proposal, we will collaborate to implement the idea. It should be noted that this project is not intended to be similar to Wikipedia:Esperanza in any way.

  • Sounds interesting, but I don't want to commit at this stage to making useful contributions. Rd232 talk 17:54, 4 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Until I've better earned the trust of peers, I can't know how I'd best fit in here. Until then, I'll gladly sign. daTheisen(talk) 08:41, 5 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have a weakness for lost causes. Besides, this project desperately needs less authoritarianism and more fun. Good Night, and Good Luck.--R.D.H. (Ghost In The Machine) (talk) 13:46, 9 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • 15lsoucy (talk) 00:52, 23 November 2009 (UTC), I can promote it. I would like to see how big it will get. Good luck with it.[reply]
  • Graeme Bartlett (talk) Something I aim for, but when will the project go live? There is more than enough mass to have this as a genuine project now. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:44, 23 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Rehman (talk): I do understand that Wikipedia is on the brink of total collapse. Hence i do support this project. But, i also do not want to be part of a ton of users who do little, which will just make things complicated. Its better i leave the job to the dedicated Wikipedians who really can do things. But yes, i would like to support in any way i can. Best regards. (10:30, 16 December 2009 (UTC))

Examples of goals[edit]

Some examples of what we hope to do is:

  • Explore other Wikimedia wikis and see what they do to support their local community.
  • Make it easier and less overwhelming for novice editors to become more involved.
  • Find ways to induce more productive behavior among contributors.
