The 4 Seasons Discography

Your work is very cool!

I have worked on the discography myself and have a few questions or comments, if you will.

Previously, I noted not just the year, but also the month of the release date. I am wondering if that should be put back in.

Also, I noted the product release label and number, which might be helpful to collectors and others looking to find copies of these recordings.

Note that there was really artists like Matthew Reid and Hal Miller; the Seasons provided backup on vocals and/or instruments. I think one has to be careful in implying that the Seasons were actually the artist in disguise (in some cases they were like Turner DeSentri).

I might be able to help. I always believe more info is better than less. So, your feedback is appeciated.

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Donda (moth) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. My edits are non-controversial and in-line with the subject matter on the pages. There has been inaccurate posting across numerous pages which justified the numerous edits, but all of them are in line with the same described Jewish theology on the Tetragrammaton page.

Simply put, the usage of “Yahweh” is not only not considered universally sound by academics, it is also offensive to Jews in a manner central to the religion. Replacing “Yahweh” with YHWH is not only appropriate on all academic and theological grounds, it is far in line with religious sensitivities (many Jews consider the usage of the words “Yahweh” and “jehovah” to be equally as offensive as the usage of the n-word) Mistamystery (talk) 07:26, 7 February 2020 (UTC)

We go by what the sources say. Our articles on Islam sometimes include images that are offensive to many Muslims, but that doesn't mean we don't use them. As for many Jews and the n-word, see this article in Forward. Read the whole thing, but I particularly liked "The analogy with the “N-word” strikes me as totally off-base. If I call someone “nigger,” I am abusing him. When I write the word “Yahweh,” I am abusing Mr. Siegel’s sensibilities, which is something quite different — and if we are going to be honest about it, it is almost impossible to have a serious discussion about anything without someone’s sensibilities being offended."

I have no aim to continue - especially if this is the reception I’m getting when what I’m doing - so far as from A rabbinic perspective - is non controversial.

The Tetragrammaton has been unpronounced and treated with awe-inspired distance and reverence since the 5th century BC and this has been universal in Judaism since then. That includes the religion practiced in the time of Jesus - so from a theological perspective I don’t think it’s in anyone’s favor to put the insistence of 19th century gentile scholars over what the current global consensus of practiced religious Judaism insists is the treatment of the holy name. Which is that it is not to be pronounced because it is too holy for people to pronounce - merely be indicated toward with reverence.

This is a central concept to the religion of Judaism. Anything that falls into the concept of “holy of holies” need be treated with excessive sensitivity and caution. Every single religious Jew on this planet knows that the Tetragrammaton is not to be pronounced, but it’s meaning is to be understood. That’s the core value conveyed by the religion, and has been (even according to the article as it currently stands) for over 2500 years.

In the face of the Tetragrammaton, every religious Jewish person on this planet says “Adonai”, “adoshem”, or “Elohim” in deference for explicitly not even *attempting” to pronounce the name. That is central to Judaism and any more than a cursory search into the core beliefs and practices of Jews will confirm it.

I don’t think the writings of a few European scholars insisting that the pronunciation was “Yahweh” (when it must also be pointed out there isn’t even a “w” sound in hebrew) is a bit much.

I’ll be happy to put this on the talk page of that article, but the entire Jewish academic consensus is on my side here. It’s inappropriate - according to Jewish law and practice - to attempt pronunciation of the name, and outside of academic exploration of whatever “yahwism” that predated the codification of the current Hebrew Bible (which I believe was during the reign of Hezekiah and was in a clear attempt to conflate the various ways of reference of the G-d almighty - El, Elohim, El Shaddai, YHWH) the progressive result was to prevent any attempt at pronouncing the Tetragrammaton as a means of religious practice and value. Elon Rutberg

You added an article on Elon Rutberg to article space twice, and it was reviewed by both User:Bri and User:Sulfurboy and moved back into draft space as Draft:Elon Rutberg by both of them as undersourced. You then created another version of the article Elon Rutberg in article space. It cannot now be moved back into draft space, so that it is probable that it will be nominated for deletion. The deletion discussion could have been avoided if you had discussed the sourcing and notability considerations rather than simply move-warring the article back into article space.

The draft and article that you have written about Rutberg implies that he wrote or co-wrote Yeezus for Kanye West, which appears to be the basis of most of the claim of notability. The articles on Yeezus and its individual recordings do not mention Rutberg as a contributor.

Your editing seems to be focused almost entirely on one person. Do you have any connection with the subject of the article, Elon Rutberg? Please read the conflict of interest policy and make any required declarations.

I do not have a connection to the artist. I try and update hip hop related pages You are incorrect and do not seem to have checked the pages on the individual songs, nor the links provided. Rutberg co-wrote each song on the yeezus album (except for “guilt trip”) as well as the other songs mentioned. It just seemed that no one had yet made the move to create a page but as a Grammy nominated songwriter it seemed prudent to build the page - and that editors were inappropriately removing the publication without checking the links and citations (hence why I went ahead and published the page. Sorry - I didn't log in for a while and missed this. I fundamentally disagree. The guy is a multiple Grammy nominee who has collaborated with major artists - there are plenty of people on wiki who have done far less and no one is questioning their viability for a wiki.

I have to say, I'm a little concerned by you turning up in this discussion long before it has even popped up on associated WikiProjects. It raises questions over how you arrived there, especially since you also seem to have turned up in a state of confusion, mistaking a category discussion for an article one - rather as if you have come to the discussion not from the category itself, but from browsing my contributions and grabbing the wrong end of the stick. I’m not hounding anyone. I spent some time away from Wikipedia in general, and then returned, mostly to resume editing theatrical articles. I then decided to waltz over into this subject territory and found myself immediately engaged in a number of conversations and topics. That’s all.

Firstly, apologies about the confusion regarding the appropriate talk location for a category discussion. I wouldn’t remotely categorize my arrival as in a “state of confusion” and think that assertion is an over reach.

That said, you must also be reminded to abide by neutrality standards (as we all must), and given an overly intense fixation on certain terminology in the other discussion by certain users, yes I did decide to look into what other contributions you had made, only to find that you had been working to remove “Land of Israel” concurrently from more than one page title.

I do not harbor any grievance over anyone’s apparent or presumed editorial mission, but if that is the case, then you should take pains to be overly transparent in discussions so one does not innocently look at a contribution record and make any incorrect assumptions.

While it may seem uncouth for the user in question to remove those items from the page, he is within his rights, as there is no defense of non-cited material on Wikipedia.

That said, the removals can be reverted and preserved so long as sufficient citations are inserted into the page. I plan on getting to this at some point, but absolutely recommend you commence if you feel these incidents should resume placement on the page.

It’s just two, and all were made prior to application of ARBPIA template (which I placed myself because of disruptive editing by another editor), so do not fall under 1RR.

I recommend reviewing all of the edits made by the other editor in question before sending any urges my way first, and otherwise recommend an uninvolved admin/arbitrator come in and review the situation. I appreciate the concern, but the above two were both clearly unintentional (one was actually an accident and the other was from a misunderstanding of technical ARBPIA policy) and were both quickly reverted without issue.

You have taken no time to read any of the lengthy and considerate responses I have given you on the From the river to the sea talk page (not to mention the very lengthy and considerate conversations that happened throughout the day while you were offline) and saw fit to undo what was a day of actually very considerate edits for - what - I’m not sure…

It doesn’t matter that Ron Smith or Robin Kelley teach at accredited universities and have their work peer-reviewed - the assertions made in the sources don’t hold up to basic scrutiny that has been well outlined. I don’t know why you are pushing so hard to keep them in there…

I like your work and I’m really trying to be respectful but I’m at a loss as to the approach you’re bringing to on this particular page.
