Vandalism
[edit]Since when is it Vandalism to simply add an image of Jesus to the Jesus page? You banned user: 24.6.35.54 for absolutely no reason. If the page was vandalized it was done before she added the image of Jesus. I think your letting your administrative powers carry you away .... Please read the page on Vandalism...adding a picture of Jesus to the Jesus page is NOT Vandalism.
Edit Summaries
[edit]Indeed, welcome! I noticed you've been making alot of useful edits recently, so kudos for that. I also thought you might be interested to read about edit summaries. Particularly when you're reverting or removing vandalism, even a short summary like "rvv" (for ReVerting Vandalism) can be useful for other editors looking at the article's history. And of course, I loved the name too! Cheers. --PeruvianLlama(spit) 05:05, 27 November 2005 (UTC)
Cheers for reverting all those rubbish edits by 144.132.202.245. Have you thought of warning them not to vandalize? Judging by their contribution page they could probably be blocked by an admin, but they need to be warned first, see vandalism. Cheers again Blarneytherinosaur 23:23, 28 November 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for the reverts, but it does make it faster for other revert chasers to run the list quickly if you use an edit summary even something simple like (rvv) or (rv blanking) (rv POV) would be great. Thanks again! xaosflux T/C 06:44, 30 November 2005 (UTC)

Bill O'Reilly
[edit]You seem to be a great editor, but I don't understand your recent handling of the O'Reilly section. We've been having it out on the talk page about the sprawling mess this article has become, and how it unnecessarily documents every single confrontation the man has on his Fox news program. Worse, it's filled with sentences (occassionaly entire paragraphs) that don't at all conform to Wikipedia's neutral point-of-view policy.
I went ahead and deleted some of the worst offenders, and you reverted every single one. You didn't even perform any rewrites, if indeed the subject matter involved was worthy of inclusion. I would invite you to join us on the talk page, because this article is turning into a Bill O'Reilly blog rather than an encyclopedia article. -- Plastic Editor
- I agree that certain areas of the article are unbalanced, so I will take a look at the discussion happening there. The reason for the initial revert was that I was concerned that too much data was being outright deleted, leaving nothing for future visitors to rewrite and tone down. Raymond Washington
[edit]I hope this is the right place to reply to your question. My source about Washington's death was the following AP article: http://www.montereyherald.com/mld/montereyherald/news/13325956.htm it also notes that the murder is still unsolved. cheers. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 152.7.27.6 (talk • contribs) 20:03, 4 December 2005 (UTC)

Bobcakes
[edit]Greetings. Would you please warn a user at least once before listing them on WP:AIV? Bobcakes (talk • contribs) appears to have stopped without a warning: he would probably have stopped even sooner with one. WP:AIV is, I think, for instances where the vandalism continues even after a {{subst:test4}} or similar. Keep up the good work on RC patrol! --RobertG ♬ talk 09:24, 8 December 2005 (UTC)
- Apologies - he stopped because he was blocked as a troll, didn't he?! Please ignore the above (except the bit about your good work). Best regards. --RobertG ♬ talk 09:39, 8 December 2005 (UTC)

My failed RFA :)
[edit]Dear Can't sleep, clown will eat me,
I would like to thank you for supporting me on my RfA. Even though it failed with a with the final tally of 55/22/6, I want to thank you anyways. I don't want to be one a admin anymore until I reach 10,000 edits now that it's over with. Thanks --Jaranda wat's sup 03:28, 9 December 2005 (UTC)211.37.41.196
[edit]Hi. Just to let you know user 211.37.41.196 constantly reverts information concerning "Korea University" for no apparent reason. The article needs to be cleaned up, so a clean up tag was placed however that user would just revert it back. (Also he/she maintains strong POV against rival Korean Universities) Thanks YCCHAN 05:44, 9 December 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks YCCHAN, I'll add the page to my watchlist and 211.37.41.196 to my blacklist as well. Can't sleep, clown will eat me 18:18, 11 December 2005 (UTC)
Impersonator
[edit]I've just blocked User:Can't sIeep, cIown will eat me indefinitely for impersonating you. I can't immediately spot which 'l' in the name has been changed into an 'I' but you might want to do an edit test to make sure you're not affected. David | Talk 21:57, 11 December 2005 (UTC)
You might want to know that since you reverted vandalism to Britney Spears the vandal appears to be have now created an account to pretend to be you (with l (small L) replaced by I (capital i)). See Can't sIeep, cIown will eat me --PTSE 22:02, 11 December 2005 (UTC)
- Opps David posted whilst I was typing. --PTSE 22:03, 11 December 2005 (UTC)
here's a tip for you both, I noticed this (by the way found this page through looking at Dbiv edit history :) still waiting for a reply on that ban evading >_<): look at
- User talk:Can't_sIeep, cIown will eat me (impersonator)
- User talk:Can't sleep, clown will eat me (this page, real one)
pages in two windows - you will notice that the two lowercase L's changed to I's have a bigger gap between the other letters than with the real L's :) just discovered this quite simple really and should work for any people using that trick to pretend to be other users with L in their name --Red-skinned femme-fatale black-latex-clad b-tch from Hell 22:05, 11 December 2005 (UTC)
- When pasting the account name in edit mode, I can see that both L's were replaced with upper-case I's. Thank you for blocking the impostor, it is a shame that some people feel the need to stoop to such levels. Can't sleep, clown will eat me 06:04, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
- Congrats on your first doppelganger. I've had at least 5 of my own. Ugh. – ClockworkSoul 04:17, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

Open proxies
[edit]There's a list of open proxies at User:Ral315/Vandalbot compiled by an open proxy detection bot a while back. There's no scripting tool involved beyond that, though; just a few admin painstakingly blocking every entry in the list. ;) As far as I know, you're not an administrator so you can't participate. If you pass an RfA, you're welcome to help out. // Pathoschild 06:20, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

George W. Bush, suppression of section editing, and vandalism
[edit]I notice that you state that a NOEDITSECTION directive should remain in the Bush article if it has reduced vandalism. I have strong evidence that in December since it was introduced vandalism is increasing. Please see User:Tony Sidaway/Dubya vandalism. I list the program and the results, which are based on a near-live replication of the English Wikipedia database. --Tony Sidaway|Talk 15:46, 18 December 2005 (UTC)
Hello
[edit]You probably don't know me, but I just wanted you to know that there's a few of us on the Wikipedia-en-vandalism channel who would love for you to be an admin. If someone doesn't get to it first, I will nominate you once you've been here for about four months (although lots of people might vote oppose because you haven't been here long enough :( ). Anyway, see you then! :)--Shanel 21:36, 19 December 2005 (UTC)
- Thank you for the offer Shanel. From what I understand, it is much easier to revert vandalism as an administrator, so that would be something to look forward to. Even if things don't work out in four months I'll still be here, this is truly exciting project to be part of. Can't sleep, clown will eat me 01:41, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
- Damn you Shanel, I'm sure I was the first to bring it up in the channel. But basically, (s)he's right, we'd like to nominate you for adminship soon. NSLE (T+C+CVU) 07:22, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
- And btw, I think I'll nom you when you've been here 3 months, just to outdo Shanel :P... three months should be okay; I'd only been here ten weeks when my RFA went up and I didn't get a single time-based oppose. NSLE (T+C+CVU) 07:26, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

It is completely clean at the moment (except for some user/talk/project page links, and some intentional links. Your job is to check here every few days and fix any new links that are made to this disambiguation page (it usually picks up 2-3 a week, occasionally including a nonsense article to be speedied or AfD'd). [edit]thanks for previously removing the vandalism from the UM page. The criticism section has been repeatedly deleted for maybe a dozen times now, and we have been having to just keep putting it back up. Mark K. Bilbo controversy
[edit]Please reinstate the POV dispute emblem on the Mark K. Bilbo entry and engage in the conversation on the talk page. His indecent attitude toward Jesus and Christians, represented in the 12 cited, offensive remarks need to be represented in the entry. I found 12 in about 10 minutes as I went through a handful of his usenet posts. According to this representative sample, the other side of Bilbo needs to be in his entry. --Jason Gastrich 20:30, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
- Your claims do not warrant placing a {{POV}} tag on the article as it stands. The current content is factual, neutral, and presented in a straight forward fashion. Please refer to Wikipedia:Verifiability and Wikipedia:Neutral point of view and then discuss this further on the article talk page. Can't sleep, clown will eat me 20:37, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
- You're incorrect. Placing that tag on the page is appropriate when a neutrality discussion is taking place in the talk page. Furthermore, as the author of the article, I would hope you would want it to fairly and even-handedly represent the person. As it stands, it doesn't. Doesn't this bother you? --Jason Gastrich 20:41, 27 December 2005 (UTC)

Filipino hip hop
[edit]I don't know why you've latched on to this particular article for deletion; judging by "Recent changes" there are certainly a plethora of musical groups (often made up of junior high or high school kids with no performance experience or releases) added all the time. The Filipino American contribution to hip hop music and culture is probably the third most significant (after African American and Puerto Rican American), and yet remains little known or acknowledged. I did not make the Native Guns website (another, more expert writer on Filipino hip hop did) but welcome it here, as an educational tool allowing readers to gain more knowledge about this musical subculture. I do assume good faith about your work here (what I have observed until now has been all good), and hope that you will do the same; my work on music articles is always done with complete sincerity and in the hopes that it will help others to learn more about these musics, which are so rarely covered in major media here in the U.S. Badagnani 13:07, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
- We certainly should cover all walks of music on Wikipedia, that we agree on. While I do not dispute the contributions Filipinos and others have made to the hip hop community, that does not mean we should grant special exceptions to Filipino rap groups such as Native Guns, nor does it mean that we should be excessively linking to non-notable MySpace pages from the Filipino hip hop article. Native Guns is a rap group from California, not the Philippines, so I see no reason why it should be treated any differently than any other Californian rap group with regards to WP:MUSIC. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a vehicle for promotion of up and coming music groups. Can't sleep, clown will eat me 13:14, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
The MySpace pages are notable in that they are often the only ones to include actual audio of full Filipino hip hop songs. Regarding Native Guns, the article states that they have been working together for fewer than five years (though individually they have been rapping since the late 1980s) but do seem to have reached a high degree of popularity in Filipino American circles, having performed for numerous Filipino cultural festivals. With hip hop groups such as this (which emphasize their culture and heritage over other considerations), even if they are the best, best regarded, and most hard working group in their subculture, often they can work for many years and still never get the major label break or Clear Channel airplay. That's just the nature of the business. This group does seem to be one of the most significant FilAm hip hop groups, which is probably why the Wikipedian who created the article about them did so in the first place. Badagnani 13:30, 29 December 2005 (UTC)

- I second that. NSLE (T+C+CVU) 04:36, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
Hello, I think you are listing vandals on WP:AIV to early. IMO it's best to go test1, test2, test3, test4 and if the vandal is still at it, then report. When you report too early, the vandal is likely to get unlisted (admins are reluctant to block if there aren't at least three warnings). Nice username by the way ;-) Izehar 20:40, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
- Thank you. ;-) Whenever reporting vandals to WP:AIV, I try my best to use discretion and sound judgement beforehand. If it is blatantly obvious, above and beyond reasonable WP:AGF, that a new user account was registered solely for vandalism purposes, such as User:Jim bob 23, who uploaded a string of Cindy Sheehan images attached to the body of Adolf Hitler, they are reported on sight as such. Otherwise, yes, the test1-4 process is normally observed. I trust that this is acceptable and not too early in these rare instances. Can't sleep, clown will eat me 21:13, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

I've had trouble for over 12 months with this article - many pro-PH people have come along and modified it to make it look more supporting. I'm telling you this because I notice that you reverted someone's vandalism - which removed a section critical of the church.
I've just expanded a section outlining criticism of the church and I'm expecting that someone will come along and revert my work... again. Can you please check my addition and work out for yourself if I am not being npov? And if you think my addition is okay, would you mind "protecting" it against any possible revert? If I do it myself I'll just end up in another revert war and the person involved will start phoning me up and abusing me (he already knows my phone no. and home address). Much appreciated in advance. --One Salient Oversight 05:06, 31 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit]Hi this user 66.246.246.254 is vandalizing articles and calling you a vandal. He is clerly a sockpuppet of another editor. He also editing with 66.69.139.191 proxy. Please block both of them. --Snakes 23:38, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the reverting vandals on this popular page. I've got it on my watchlist, so you're popping into my radar regularly. If you ever want one of the vandals blocked, leave me a message. Good work! Harro5 01:02, 2 January 2006 (UTC)

Random guy
[edit]I went to AfD and hit <cntrl-F> "band" and up you popped. There's a slightly complex WP:MUSIC question at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Conglomerate. I have no personal investment in what the outcome is, I'd just like wider discussion.

It needs to be said from me!
[edit]For the last week or so, I've been trying to think of a way to praise you for your efforts and commitment to fighting vandalism, I can not think of praise worthy of your contributions, but I just had to let you know. Please keep up the good work. If you see a vandal that needs to be blocked you are more than welcomed to post it at my talk page. KnowledgeOfSelf | talk 01:34, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
Hans-Hermann Hoppe
[edit]Why do you keep undoing my additions? If you look up Hans-Hermann Hoppe, you will see that I am not making this stuff up. It seems like you are just following my edits, so you can delete them. Kalmia 06:44, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, some of your contributions have been questionable. [2] In the future, please WP:CITE sources for your additions and changes. Can't sleep, clown will eat me 06:47, 4 January 2006 (UTC)

Genius School
[edit]I would urge you to reconsider your vote since the article in question violates WP:V. There is no evidence supporting the existance of this school beyond it's own website which is not admissible as evidence in support of the school. For the purposes of this project, this school does not exist. Gateman1997 08:32, 4 January 2006 (UTC)

Protection of Louis Braille
[edit]You weren't kidding, I checked the pages history just before I Semi protected it, last 100 edits were vandalism and reverts. I would like to let you know in the last 30 min or so, it has been semi protected twice once by me and then an other admin right after I did, and it is now on full protection. Thanks for alerting me to the situation. KnowledgeOfSelf | talk 09:37, 4 January 2006 (UTC)

- I'm pretty sure he means a request for adminship, and not request for arbitration. I, for one, would support the former. – ClockworkSoul 07:38, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
- As much as I love clown, it's WAY too early. It'll be voted down in a heartbeat. Give it another month or so. --Woohookitty(cat scratches) 09:31, 5 January 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the formatting tips
[edit]Thanks for the suggestion on how to list the images on my userpage. I was actualy just wondering how to link to the image page without having the image displayed, but you have done the hard part for me. I'm going to move the one non-fair use image back to the gallery style, as I am going to upload some more pictures I've got planned come spring when everything in utah doesn't look so ugly. [edit]Well. We knew that already. :) Thanks for reverting the vandal. Why do vandals do that? I have him the 2 warnings and then they decide to get back at you. Why would it bother me? People! :) --Woohookitty(cat scratches) 09:20, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
Re: 1.800.Vending
[edit]I saw your request on Splash's talk page. Please read the talk page of the article. There is a sub-page at 1.800.Vending/Temp that can be worked on to get to a NPOV version. The talk page includes some of Jimbo's thoughts on the subject snipped from an email I received from him. I wouldn't advocate unprotecting the article until we can get a version that Jimbo will not describe as a "hatchet job". If you can get a reasonable article put together on the temporary page, let me know and I'll unprotect it and move it to the primary page. --GraemeL (talk) 19:29, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you for the follow up. What is the purpose of the temp page, why not just edit the regular page as we normally do with other articles? Can't sleep, clown will eat me 06:15, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
- It keeps the version that might get some contentious edits out of sight until we can get a consensus. --GraemeL (talk) 20:24, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
Jessica Simpson's vandal...
[edit]... is also doing exactly the same sort of link spam at Brad Pitt (but under the name BradPittfan instead of Jessicasimpsonfan), in case you're interested in helping out in that ongoing linkspam war, too. Actually, amusingly, there are two link spammers who delete each other's links, calling them spam and saying that theirs is the TRUE Brad Pitt fansite... and then wikipedians delete both of them. Heh. Cheers, JDoorjam 13:00, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
- And now we have Pammyfiend (talk · contribs) which I can't help but think is somehow related as well. Can't sleep, clown will eat me 06:25, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
- Whoa. This person has been spamming Wikipedia as far back as October 2005. Refer to Category:Wikipedia:Suspected sockpuppets of Superfan (updated) for details, I have crossposted this to WP:ANI. Can't sleep, clown will eat me 07:43, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks for your support on my request for adminship.
The final outcome was (80/3/0), so I am now an administrator. I was flattered by the level of support and the comments, so I'm under real pressure not to disappoint, thus if you have any queries, suggestions or problems with any of my actions as an admin then please leave me a note --pgk(talk) 11:41, 8 January 2006 (UTC)Congratulations
[edit]May I congratulate you on your excellent quoting ability. I know it isn't easy to quote popular television shows, and you've not only quoted one, you've used it as your username and gotten kudos for it! I wish I had the charisma and flair which you were clearly naturally born with.

[edit]I've removed this entry from WP:AIV as they appear to have stopped. Please note the edits to Chile stopped at 07:12, but your second warning isn't timestamped until 07:13 so they may not have seen any of your warnings whilst still "experimenting", but they did apparently stopped after the first. Thanks for your attempt to intervene in the above article. I don't think it needs a "serious clean up" as, another user wrote. It just needs to have the very recent contributions of User:Shivraj Singh removed [4].
