I have nominated Convicts on the First Fleet, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Convicts on the First Fleet. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

[edit]

File:Mornington-ArthursSeat.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Mornington-ArthursSeat.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:Mornington-ArthursSeat.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 04:41, 31 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:The casanovas album cover.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:The casanovas album cover.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Aspects (talk) 23:16, 16 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there fello editor, I have spent much time editing the Brighton Bypass article. I recently moved the majority of the information to Southern Transport Investment Program as the information on Brighton Bypass was becoming fragmented and irrelevant to the article itself. I am still not satisfied with the results. Can you offer any suggestions on the matter? Wiki ian 13:03, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Chuq! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 6 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 698 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

A-League 2010-11

[edit]

Good work on getting through the A-League 2010-11 rounds - I've done previous years and its not an easy task! Just letting you know I moved the midweek ones so that they *follow* the weekend matches - as is done on the official fixture list. I think the lack of correlation between weeks/rounds is a bit confusing but what can you do when you have to fit 30 rounds into 27 weeks! -- Chuq (talk) 03:22, 19 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The midweek games follow the previous week but they are listed under a separate heading. It doesn't matter too much if they are separate.
A good reason to have Wednesday/Thursday games at the start of the round, though, is because the editors who updated the article last year used terminology like (Current as of end of round 12) which makes more sense on the Monday after the round then it does on a Thursday after the round. --Squilibob (talk) 13:22, 19 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Hobart1.png

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Hobart1.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 21:16, 12 February 2011 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Magog the Ogre (talk) 21:16, 12 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

MSU Interview

[edit]

Dear Chuq,

My name is Jonathan Obar user:Jaobar, I'm a professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University and a Teaching Fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Program. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Wikipedia administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the communityHERE, where it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.

So a few things about the interviews:

  • Interviews will last between 15 and 30 minutes.
  • Interviews can be conducted over skype (preferred), IRC or email. (You choose the form of communication based upon your comfort level, time, etc.)
  • All interviews will be completely anonymous, meaning that you (real name and/or pseudonym) will never be identified in any of our materials, unless you give the interviewer permission to do so.
  • All interviews will be completely voluntary. You are under no obligation to say yes to an interview, and can say no and stop or leave the interview at any time.
  • The entire interview process is being overseen by MSU's institutional review board (ethics review). This means that all questions have been approved by the university and all students have been trained how to conduct interviews ethically and properly.

Bottom line is that we really need your help, and would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you. If interested, please send me an email at obar@msu.edu (to maintain anonymity) and I will add your name to my offline contact list. If you feel comfortable doing so, you can post your nameHERE instead.

If you have questions or concerns at any time, feel free to email me at obar@msu.edu. I will be more than happy to speak with you.

Thanks in advance for your help. We have a lot to learn from you.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Obar 23:09, 17 April 2012 (UTC) --Jaobar (talk)

Non-free rationale for File:Triple J Live and Unleashed album.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Triple J Live and Unleashed album.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Template:6Team5MatchBracket

[edit]

Hey Chuq, awesome job you've done with your A-League related edits. Just wondering if possible, if you could create a template bracket for the old National Soccer League Finals systems? I have no idea how to do them and I saw that you created the one that is used in the A-League pages. The page in question is available here. Once again, thanks for your contributions! –– J man708 (talk) 02:20, 24 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I placed a similar template on the page until I could come across one that was a bit better suited for it. Is it possible to create a template where the double chance games between Marconi and Melbourne Knights are placed in the second finals week, with three boxes for the score to represent the home/away/overall scorelines? Also, the elimination games between Olympic, Adelaide, Brisbane and Syd Utd were played over two games aswell, also needing three score boxes. The structure seems difficult to make a template from and mine all fail catastrophically.
Here's a rundown of how the games worked (we'll say the lowest seeded team wins each game)...
Week 1 - 1 and 2 have a week off, 3, 4, 5 and 6 play the first home/away fixture.
Week 2 - 1 and 2 play their first home/away fixture. 3, 4, 5 and 6 play their away/home return leg with the loser eliminated.
Week 3 - 1 and 2 play their away/home return leg. 3 and 4 then play a single elimination game at the lowest seed's home.
Week 4 - 2 hosts 3 at home in a single elimination game.
Week 5 - 1 hosts 2 in the GF.
As I said, I've tried making my own template in the sandbox, but I can never get the coding quite right and end out having lines and boxes and pixels making a mess.
Cheers for helping, Chuq. J man708 (talk) 06:27, 12 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No, not in Hobart

[edit]

Hi Chuq. Yes I guess my user-page is a bit ambiguous (somewhat deliberately, and somewhat also because I don't really care much what my user-page looks like.) I really do miss those summer days in Hobart: it's a-buzz with activity, the weather is always brilliant, and the sun doesn't set until 9:30 pm, which is why I go back there in summer so often, to catch up with old friends and visit MONA. I'll send you an email. Best with the meet-up! Pete aka --Shirt58 (talk) 08:46, 7 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the offer

[edit]

Hi Chuq, thanks for the offer. I don't tend to go to meetups however I'm afraid due to my age. Sorry. I'm sure you'll have lots of fun. JTdaleTalk~ 08:51, 7 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, maybe then heh. JTdaleTalk~ 09:09, 7 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Floral tributes

[edit]

I have several shots of the tributes, some in the category now and more to follow, but not taken from the air.

Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Could you look at and maybe help me with Murder of Kylie Maybury, please? Paul Austin (talk) 08:03, 25 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
