Dear DiscoSpinster, can you pleae confirm with me you received, and will reply to my precios topic, sent to you 16 hours ago? 29 March sometime after 2am. These are urgent matters I'd appreciate you'd help us to sort out asap. With thanks in advance. Roslyn Artime (talk) 18:33, 29 March 2024 (UTC)

Thank you very much.

Regarding my book Open Windows, Open Doors, they are enough reliable sources. It is even cited in the Douglas Field's Guardian article too. Open Windows, Open Doors is the last New Departures publication to date, number #42, 43. Michael is editor. He invested a lot ot love, money, and time making it. Please add it to the list of books, probably under editor or where you find it appropriate Full information: Open Windows, Open Doors: Pictures, Poems, and Reflections by Vanessa Vie Publ: 2020 ISBN: 9780902689275 Roslyn Artime (talk) 19:35, 29 March 2024 (UTC)

Hi

Further still

When you click on Michael's page it is confusing. As I said nobody knew him as Michael Yehiel Ha-levi. Not even himself knew this. I got his hebrew name when I organised the jewish funeral myself. It would be culturally better, and also better for Michael's memory he was tob e presented as he knew himsell. And how even the late queen knew him, and his family, and his passport: Michael W. Horovitz.

Having two names does when you open the page does not look Good and it is confusing. Michael W Horovitz was his real name, not only professional. Yehiel Ha-Levi is Kabbalistic. You can leave it as a romantic act in the righthand side box. I know one of the news papers. Probably the telegraph presented this name. Probably they scribbled it down when some journalist came to the funeral in Kensal Green.

Actually, this information should be added. Michael is buried in Kensal Green where other literary figures are buried like Harold Pinter, Wilkie Collins, Thackeray, Eric Fried et al. The Oldie article proves this:

https://www.theoldie.co.uk/article/funeral-service-michael-horovitz-1935-2021-james-hughes-onslow

I'd appreciate if you'd comply with these three requests:

Add: My book Correct: Michael name Add: Michael's resting place.

This is want Michael wants too.

With thanks in advance

yours

It is not a song if it have no lyrics/vocals.

Hello, I want to question you why did you remove my edit for the article about one of the tracks made by French electronic music duo Justice's Stress. For your information, this track have no lyrics or whatsoever. I am a big Justice fan and I just want to know why do you call this track as a "song" despite having no lyrics? If you search up for the lyrics on google, you will see a lot of articles saying it's an "instrumental". If you see an article about it having lyrics, they we're mentioning the live version of "Stress" which was recorded at concerts by Justice when they mixed the track with other lyrics. According to wikipedia, an instrumental is music with no vocals/lyrics. If you listen to the whole track, you will not hear any vocals/lyrics whatsoever. Also, the actual length of the track is 4:58. (according to the cd of the album Cross) I'm just confused why is this article labeled as a "song" than an instrumental. I know through semantic widening, the word "song" may refer to instrumentals but if you go to any articles about an instrumental, (For example, the article about Da Funk by Daft Punk) it is labeled an "instrumental". But why some articles about some instrumentals (including "Stress" by Justice) are labeled as "songs"? This just hurts me. 2001:569:7D67:9400:74A8:44AB:C025:3533 (talk) 02:33, 12 April 2024 (UTC)

Hello

Hi, Discospinster. I recently was working very hard to fix the List of Legends of Zelda characters page. My device was glitching, and made a mistake in naming one of the tabs. I also accidentally published my edit without giving an edit summary. When I went back in to fix it, I discovered all my hard work had been reversed. I hope we can get it all back, because this mistake was a result of spotty internet, not a personal choice. Thank you for your time and contribution. -HylianNerd

Follow up on Hello

I forgot to mention in my previous comment, that I was told to edit the List of the Legend of Zelda characters page. I asked in multiple talk pages if I could, and got plenty of suggestions. I am very frustrated that 2 hours of work could be erased in seconds, but I would like to resolve this politely and promptly. Thank you so much for looking out for vandalism and wrongdoings, but I would like you to know I have zero intention of making any edits that will harm Wikipedia. Thank you again! My friend Julie Ragbeer was recently covered by several entertainment news outlets when a promoted Tweet / “X” post about her music went viral. Fans made a Wikipedia page, but we believe some trolls mass-reported it, and the page was reviewed and deleted. Julie is notable and has a large following now, and is deserving of having a page that people can learn about her career and background. Could you please reinstate it? Hello, Discospinster,

I think you made a mistake here. You can't just move a catgory page, you have recategorize all of the contents of the category. The only time a bot will take care of this is as the result of an CFD closure. Otherwise, you have to do this manually. Also, the original category page has a category redirect that is a red link so it needs to be fixed, too. This is why editors rarely move categories themselves because it's not like moving an article, it's not one and done, it can involve a lot of recategorization but luckily this category is small. Thank you for fixing this. Liz Read! Talk! 22:25, 6 May 2024 (UTC)

Re: Edit of Second Temple Judaism

Regarding the removal of the paragraph entitled Monotheism, it was done because the content represented an opinion that can only be arrived at by denying the Hebrew Bible's authenticity. While there are many scholars who have concluded as such, others have vehemently disagreed. This second view is represented by Hoffman (I particularly recommend the new Hebrew edition edited by Enbal), Cassuto, Halevy, Avigdor Miller (English) and Yehoshua Enbal. Being that the matter is one of debate I did not want to leave a passage in the article that would represent one view at the expense of another. I should have been more accurate in the summary. Abiyam (talk) 21:58, 7 May 2024 (UTC)

Regarding the phrase removed from the paragraph entitled The Priesthood and The Autonomy of Yehud, that was done because there is ample Biblical evidence to the contrary. Again, while many disregard the Bible's narrative, enough scholars support it that it should not be blatantly ignored. In general, it appears that this article has been written from two conflicting viewpoints, at times favoring one and at times the other. In my opinion, this qualifies it for extensive revision. I intend to hold off on all edits of a similar nature until I receive your response.

Edit history Nine (singer) has only one person, IP addresses starting with 2001:1388:A45 and 2001:1388:A44 all are the same person The edits will be made in the same way, namely adding information to the article without the source in Nine (singer) and deleting and disturbing other articles. which always has admin rollback This person made repeated changes with new IP addresses like this.

Administrators address disruptive IP address user behavior issues. Continuously adding unsourced content to Nine (singer) A single person from Lima, Peru, used the IP address to reverse an update notification. Unexplained deletion of maintenance tags Modifications were not performed according to the maintenance tag instructions. Please disturb other articles as well.[9]

repeated addition of unsourced content I think examining a person is difficult. This person from Lima, Peru uses a different IP address every time they resolve. Every time delete and add information to another article. will be reversed Then edit again with the new IP address.

This person created information in the Nine (singer) article and also caused mischief in other articles. Add information without references Administrators always roll back edits that this person deleted on other articles. Editing that disturbs another article and edited and added information only to the article Nine (singer) The person using all IP addresses in this Nine (singer) article is the same person who removed the maintenance tag without editing it.

The person using all the IP addresses I attached is the same person. I'm only giving examples because there are many. The entire article Nine (singer) has an IP address from the same person from Lima, Peru, but the IP address in the update is different every time the information is added. This person deleted the maintenance tag notice. Delete without correcting Most articles lack references. As I looked at the article's history, Nine (singer) has been doing this for a long time, but no user has come to check on this person. MeetHoneyBee (talk) 14:59, 16 May 2024 (UTC)

Hi

The term I corrected is Israeli and therefore probably not understood enough by others, but I have some friends from Israel who explained to me the broad meaning of the term. 2A01:6500:B113:E2A0:8D60:8581:2C8:55CC (talk) 00:24, 19 May 2024 (UTC)

You will still need reliable sources for these changes. ... discospinster talk 00:25, 19 May 2024 (UTC)

hi, where can I add reliable sources?

Every portion that I deleted were actually casual events that for some reason entered this page that talks about pogroms. Probably the person who made the edit has not read about the Middle East, where there are conflicts and fights between different groups and tribes every day - if you start from the assumption that every religious conflict, for example, is a pogrom, then the page will never end... A pogrom is one that is carried out on ethnic grounds, as happened in Europe between Jews and local Christians. And I left that intact. What I deleted was, again, conflicts between religious groups that should not be described as a pogrom. Therefore, it is highly recommended that you return the latest version 2A01:6500:B113:E2A0:8D60:8581:200:B69C (talk) 11:22, 19 May 2024 (UTC)

What article are you referring to? ... discospinster talk 22:01, 19 May 2024 (UTC)

I mean to the page "pogrom".

You removed a large amount of reliably-sourced content. The sources themselves referred to the events as "pogroms". If you would like to start a discussion on the definition of "pogrom" or what should or should not be considered one, it's better to start a discussion on the article's talk page. ... discospinster talk 17:44, 20 May 2024 (UTC)

Why do you re-add outdated templates to 2024 Mannheim stabbing?

Why do you re-add outdated templates to 2024 Mannheim stabbing? The AFD is closed. Merging to Michael Stürzenberger makes no sense at all. But Move discussion is needed. Currently the name of the WP article does not even mention Stürzenberger, denying that it was him who should get killed, twice. 2003:C6:373C:F127:5099:D27:9B2D:4E98 (talk) 14:44, 6 June 2024 (UTC)

The Articles for Deletion discussion is ongoing, so the template needs to be on the article (as it says on the template: "do not remove this notice before the discussion is closed"). The move proposal is part of the same discussion. ... discospinster talk 14:46, 6 June 2024 (UTC)
Okay, sorry. When I moved/copied the template to the talk page, as it is recommended to do, it shows (still does in the history) "This article was nominated for deletion on 3 June 2024. The result of the discussion was keep." How come it is declared keep, if the case was not closed? Confusing.2003:C6:373C:F127:5099:D27:9B2D:4E98 (talk) 15:20, 6 June 2024 (UTC)

Please look at my Revision as of 14:29, 6 June 2024‎ at the talk, it clearly shows ""This article was nominated for deletion on 3 June 2024. The result of the discussion was keep", then and now. A minute later I edited the article itself, removed the AFD thing accordingly as recommended in the remarks. The attack was almost a week ago, Wikipedia should have made up its mind by now. 2003:C6:373C:F127:5099:D27:9B2D:4E98 (talk) 15:58, 6 June 2024 (UTC)

What did I do wrong in my edit of "Niland brothers"?

Dear discospinster. I am new and inexperienced in how it works in here, but I thought that I have done it right with my edit. But I see that you reverted my edit, and I just want to ask why?

Was it some technical details in my editing that was the problem? Cause it's a fact that you reversed it to using the wrongful link that this matter is about.

Anthony J. Resta page activity

Hi discospinster, Over the past few months, Iggy pop goes the Weasel has deleted a lot of information from the Anthony J. Resta page. He has cited reasons for the deletions that in some cases are valid, and in other cases are not. I have been trying to restore the page in compliance with Wikipedia guidelines. My overarching concern about Iggy pop goes the Weasel's deletions is that he has left the biography devoid of many legitimate factors that contribute to Anthony J. Resta's notability. The good information may not have been referenced or not properly referenced; however, a better approach may be to take concern and replace improper references with proper references. He has not done that, and as a result, the page now provides very little of the accomplishments that make Resta notable. If one looks at Iggy's contributions, he typically deletes a lot of information, but does not bother to add information, except in one notable case, the second paragraph of the Personal life section on the Dale Bozzio page. That information was subject to a lengthy discussion on the talk page with the result that that information not be included on the page. Iggy added it on 12/7/23. I deleted it on 1/30/24 and referenced the talk page discussion. Iggy added it back on 2/14/24. On 3/25/24, I deleted again with a "Please take note" in the explanation. On 5/7/24, Iggy added the information back, and that is how the article shows currently - not in conformance with the talk page discussion results and not sensitive to the Biography of a Living Person. So that may shed some additional light on Iggy pop goes the Weasel's intentions. I have looked at my edit history, and Iggy has started targeting my edits that have all been done in good faith. Could you please provide help editing the Anthony J. Resta page by possibly getting someone else to help rebuild Resta's page? Might it be something to consider blocking Iggy pop goes the Weasel from activities on the Anthony Resta pages, the Dale Bozzio page, and any of my edits? Also to know, I am not Anthony J. Resta, although Iggy pop goes the Weasel implied that I am. I am an architect and musician whose interest as a Wikipedia editor lies with members of and contributors towards Missing Persons (the band).Doc54625 (talk) 22:08, 9 June 2024 (UTC)

I will have a look at the page and its history. Keep in mind that even though something might be factual and sourced, if it gives the impression that the article is trying to promote or brag about the subject, it would be not be appropriate. ... discospinster talk 23:57, 9 June 2024 (UTC)
Thank you for your looking into this. I understand about the issue of promoting or bragging about the article subject. One of my concerns is that Iggy pop goes the Weasel appears to label legitimate non-promotionally oriented statements describing notoriety as puffery. Doc54625 (talk) 22:08, 10 June 2024 (UTC)

Improper deletion

Hello,

You improperly deleted Shooting of Donald Trump. Please check the news before you delete articles on recent events.

HadesTTW (he/him • talk) 22:33, 13 July 2024 (UTC)

It was not an improper deletion, there was no information in the article. ... discospinster talk 22:34, 13 July 2024 (UTC)
Trump was indeed shot- or at least injured from a shooting. That counts as information and isn't vandalism, even if it was unsourced. HadesTTW (he/him • talk) 22:43, 13 July 2024 (UTC)
Any chance I could get you to reconsider? There actually was some content there before being blanked; it would surely do no harm for these revisions to be restored behind the current redirect, and might actually do some good in getting people to slow down a bit before attempting to create articles based on breaking news. I certainly don't see how anything there other than the blanking could be construed as vandalism, other than perhaps for being misjudged as a hoax - and we now know that it wasn't. —Cryptic 16:18, 14 July 2024 (UTC)

I hope you will consider this as a worthwhile alternative. All the best, Cheers! Bluevista99 (talk) 02:51, 8 August 2024 (UTC)

Yes, you can indeed retain the content if you add a citation. ... discospinster talk 03:36, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
Thanks for the prompt reply. I'm hoping that you also will consider retaining any article's worthwhile content by adding a citation. Could you please do this as an alternative to deletion? Optionally, could you please transfer the content to the article's talk page so other editors can consider its merit before its permanently lost to Wikipedia?. I'm still hoping you'll come around to either of these options. Happy editing :-) Cheers! Bluevista99 (talk) 04:44, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
All content is retained in the history of the article, so it can be brought back at any time. ... discospinster talk 15:36, 8 August 2024 (UTC)

Anni-Frid Lyngstad.

Dear discospinster. This Lebensborn issue has already been long debunked with regard to Anni-Frid Lyngstad. You are using a unreliable news source which is itself poorly researched.

Anni-Frid Lynstad was born in mid November 1945, six months after the end of WW2 in Europe. There was no Lebensborn program in Northern Norway during her mothers pregnancy. And even before that, neither of Anni-Frid's parents had any dealings with that organisation. Her father was a German soldier who had a genuine year long love affair with a local woman. She is believed to have become pregnant when they spent one last time together before he was evacuated back to Germany the following morning. When it was discovered, many years later, that he had survived the war and was still alive, he denied any knowledge of Lebensborn and didn't even know he had fathered a child. So they were not some part of cynical and ideological breeding program. Anni-Frid was born in her home village. They had no dealings with the Lebensborn program before the pregnancy and certainly not during because it didn't even exist at that time.

Some sensationalist TV producers once used her name to simply create a fake scandal programme called 'ABBA's Biggest Secret'. It was a cheap and nasty slur against the group, typical of trashy gossip magazines. They used a lot of the same footage from a earlier programme about Lebensborn but even so, they made sure to not suggest that Anni-Frid was a Lebensborn child herself. To do so would leave them open to be sued for defamation. The 'shame' was having a German father at all. This is probably where DW, your source is referencing. Far better sources are the respected and extremely well researched biographies on both ABBA (Bright Lights Dark Shadows) and Anni-Frid Lyngstad (Frida Beyond ABBA). Both of these books tell the true story. Therefore, please edit and remove that Lebensborn comment. It is simply an incorrect statement. Wikipedia needs to be a place where readers can access reliable and correct information.

The circumstances of her birth are not really the concern here, you have to explain in the edit summary why you are removing content that is prima facie sourced. If there is an existing discussion about it then refer to that in the edit summary. Otherwise other editors don't know what your intentions are in removing the information. ... discospinster talk 23:16, 13 August 2024 (UTC)

why di you revert me?

please tell me why. 73.33.117.12 (talk) 18:23, 15 August 2024 (UTC)

Because you made changes to the content without explaining why in the edit summary, and introduced typos. ... discospinster talk 18:25, 15 August 2024 (UTC)
the text states that the original swing bridge couldn't carry buses, which is expected considering it was built in the 1920s when the average vehicle was much smaller. that's a case of outdated design, witch is why i changed it.
OK that's the sort of thing you should write in the edit summary, so that other editors know why you changed it. ... discospinster talk 18:32, 15 August 2024 (UTC)

About your block of Austonlover34

Is Matthewsrocks34 ducking that block at Raymond (Animal Crossing)?   –Skywatcher68 (talk) 19:41, 16 August 2024 (UTC)

I don't know but I blocked them anyway for WP:NOTHERE. ... discospinster talk 19:42, 16 August 2024 (UTC)

Deletion of .pyc article

Dear DiscoSpinster, what was the reason behind the deletion of the .pyc article? Please let me knowRobloxguest3 (talk) 19:41, 17 August 2024 (UTC)

Because all it said was "This page does not exist yet." ... discospinster talk 19:43, 17 August 2024 (UTC)

oh wow didn't expect anyone to be watching the page that fast... I put it there temporary and a minute later I edited the page. I thought you deleted the page before I edited the page so yeah. But anyway thanks for leting me know Robloxguest3 (talk) 00:17, 18 August 2024 (UTC)

If you intend on working on a page that is not ready, you can use the draft space so it won't get deleted. ... discospinster talk 17:22, 18 August 2024 (UTC)

Censorship and communist propaganda

It is called "Italian National Socialism" but you removed all reference to "socialism" from the article. Why? 67.225.3.191 (talk) 17:54, 18 August 2024 (UTC)

You need reliable sources to add that information. ... discospinster talk 17:55, 18 August 2024 (UTC)

Hello, Discospinster,

You deleted this draft and put full protection on this page because it was tagged CSD G4 but G4 doesn't usually apply to Draft space unless there has been a successful MFD nomination. I've been looking at some questionable edits by the new editor who tagged this page for CSD and in their tagging, they didn't link to any specific deletion discussion where it was decided to delete a draft or article. So, full protection seems to go too far to me. Could you point out an AFD or MFD that exists and, if there isn't one, could you reconsider your deletion and full protection? Thank you for considering this request. Liz Read! Talk! 01:09, 19 August 2024 (UTC)

I have checked and did not find one, so I changed the protection to extended confirmed access. ... discospinster talk 03:29, 19 August 2024 (UTC)

So where do all these crossover examples be cataloged now?

I get that there needs to be no cltter and more curation on what crossovers are, but people need to know what examples are out there.

Can there be, like, a table set for all these old and future new examples?

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Intercompany_crossover&oldid=1152503791

A page would be helpful like "List of comic intercompany crossovers"

Appreciate the advice, sorry for taking your time

--Odla101010 (talk) 01:23, 19 August 2024 (UTC)

I'm not sure that a comprehensive table would be encyclopedic, unless the examples are accompanied by reliable sources that discuss them. There are other places online that are not as strict about these sorts of things, such as Fandom. ... discospinster talk 03:25, 19 August 2024 (UTC)
