well, I'm back

Ta-da!!! She magically reappears, refreshed and rejuvenated and renewed and re-everything elsed. I'm still pretty busy but I'm getting back into the Wikigroove again. God knows there was enough drama while I was gone... every time I leave there's more and more crap to read about when I come back, usually in the form of ArbCom requests and ANI threads that take up 25 or 35 screen views. I seem to miss all the big kerfluffles, but somehow I don't feel left out or abandoned when I'm not included. :-)

Do you want to resume now or would you like to start back up again when you return from your vacation? It's up to you, 'cause I'll still be here when you get back. The break won't have any effect on your RFA, so don't give that a second thought. I had to take a little more than 3 months off back in 2006 and had no problems. It's running away in a snit that causes concern, not vacations.

The Mickey Mouse Club

I am having trouble with an editor removing information of mine that is sourced and cited very well. They are telling me that an "uninterested" editor needs to publish the information, which makes no sense to me as an "uninterested" editor would have no reason to do so. Zachary Jaydon was a cast member on The Mickey Mouse Club, and I have cited numerous Official, Reliable, Non-Secondary Disney Publications that provide this information clearly. The editor keeps removing the information without taking the time to check the sources, which can be done if a small amount of effort is put into it. I believe that this goes against Wiki policy as well as a major lack of the assumption of good faith. Removing unsourced information is one thing, but when an editor takes the time to make an article more informative and accurate, it's very discouraging. Please help!

Is there any way you can help me out with yet another AfD for my article on Zachary Jaydon. How many times can an article be AfD'd before it remains a part of Wiki?

There seems to be confusion as to the relation between Jaydon D. Paull & Zachary Jaydon. They are one in the same. A large percentage of performers/artists don't go by their legal name. Any notability no matter which of the two names they are credited under are still assertions of nobility under either or both. Many people are eliminating anything that can be user uploaded or changed. I agree with the principle of this in general, however, videos, magazine scans and the such are irrefutable proof of events or facts no matter where they came from. If there is a video of Mr. Jaydon playing with a National Rock Band, you can't say that because it was put up by a "user" that the fact doesn't remain.

While every sentence of this Wiki Article isn't strongly sourced, it doesn't mean he doesn't meat notability requirements for an article. I have scanned and uploaded quite a few of my sources at: http://zacharyjaydonwiki.blogspot.com/

For composers, songwriters, librettists or lyricists:

  1. Has credit for writing or co-writing either lyrics or music for a notable composition.

Jaydon has written material on several Multi-Platinum records, including *NSYNC, Craig David, Ryan Cabrera and others. These WERE songs that were included on these albums. They weren't scrapped, or obscure B-Sides. These were songs included on official releases by MAJOR artists. He obviously has notable talent if these artists are choosing to work with him. This is obviously an arguable issue, but given the success of the albums his work has been featured on, it seems at the VERY least, notable. These credits are easily verifiable here:

The 3 above sources are all from www.ASCAP.com which is one of the most trusted sources used on Wiki for Songwriter Credit Verification.

([4]) also shows from a VERY large, Fortune 500 companies website with information on Close To Home and confirming Mr. Jaydon's Songwriting Credits. This website would be considered reliable on any front, and also independent of the subject himself.

Glad to have been of service, and shame you missed the MfA and related RfA for it. I feel should mention that according to the masses having this userbox makes you unfit for adminship (viz prev. linked RfA), so be prepared for that if you're using it. ready to start again?

I am, whenever you're ready - no hurry. I moved my youngest to college a few days ago and this is a big, old, empty, very quiet house now. I'm getting ready for my fantasy football league's draft which takes place on September 1 at 5pm Eastern, so if I'm not here I'm most likely into serious draft prep. 32 NFL teams and I've got to know all 55 players on each team, or I'll lose. And I hate to lose. I'm leading my 16-team fantasy baseball league (at the moment) and fantasy baseball is more of a daily thing than football - with fantasy football the hard work is mostly at the beginning, while baseball entails daily management.

It'd be great if you did, my IM data is on my user. About Obama, there really was no contest. McCain was only a possibility because of the massive homeschooled-fundamentalist-Christian demographic, which is basically non-existent in Unamerica, thankfully. McCain's victory would have sealed the fate for the US, and I don't think anyone would even bat an eyelid. Sure there'd be some short-term impact, but America is nowhere near as useful or important as it was during the 20th century (hence the fictitious War on Terror Bush invented). Obama at least offers hope for a renewed America, bringing it back to what it was like in the first half of last century - progressive, free, educated and hard-working, as opposed to today - regressive, authoritarian, idiot-ridden and lazy. McCain really was a joke, and he demonstrated a unbelievable lack of judgement in picking Palin as VP. I think stories of Palin are going to be told for decades to come. They're having trouble raising donations (when I checked just now they'd only raised 81 american :( ) though, so it may not be up all that much longer. I think I'm much like you in that department, I get heated about controversial topics too. Actually I was just considering today having a talk with a Jewish friend of mine and assuring him I'm not anti-Semitic since he's been acting a bit cold recently - may have been all that my denouncing of his god and everything his religion stood for and all... :) About the time difference, a few hours ago I was chatting on IM with a mate in Ottawa, so I don't think it would be too un-doable. Cool, I've authorised you. One of the beautiful things about Sydney is the mass of diversity, you hear a variety of languages spoken in the street literally more often than English, and everyone has at least a few stock phrases in Cantonese and Mandarin and usually a few other languages, dǒngma? :) That diversity translates to religions too, so some of my best friends are Buddhists, Muslims and even fundamentalist Christians. You learn to tolerate all sort of non-sense, whether it is Sino-Tibetan languages or calls to prayer here. I still forgive myself a casual anti-religious joke here and there but I mostly just enjoy the freedom to eat pork, sleep around, and spend Friday evenings in a drunken stupor that has me waking up tattooed in a condom-laden gutter on the west-end of Oxford Street on Saturday mornings... well, I may be exaggerating a little but you get my point. :) I don't really try and help religious people anymore (after finding out there are people that don't actually believe evolution is real, I lost faith in humanity), with rare exceptions where someone just needs that little shove (which usually comes in the form of a copy of the God Delusion). I don't really like the label agnostic. What is that supposed to mean? You either believe in god or don't, there really isn't any middle-ground. I have more respect for people firm in their faith than people too insecure to be able to comfortably state their religious beliefs. Still, I suppose these are the people that would otherwise tick "Christian" without caring about the church, therefore inflating the figures and giving the church undue influence, so it may be better they class themselves as agnostics. Just the existence of an IMDb page does not. A Google search: [6] still does not prove notability. As an actress she does not seem notable (according to IMDb, only the one Barney and Friends role). I'm not sure of her role in the Obama campaign, I can't access the one page I found without being registered there, but I would be really surprised if she was notable through that. Why does the article still have a {{reqphoto}} template when there are several excellent photographs already on the page? If the editors of this article are looking for some specific image which isn't yet available, can you make that explicit by adding an "of=" parameter to the {{reqphoto}} template? re: coaching

Hi!

Sure, we can pick up where we left off. Give me a few more days to catch up on the reading I've missed.

One of the reasons I drifted away was ArbCom and its lack of... how shall I say it... backbone. But in the last several weeks they've done some things that could and should have been done a year ago, or more, so I'm relatively optimistic about the future of the project. By relatively, I mean about twice as optimistic than I was last year at this time.

I probably won't be here every day for a while - we are in the middle of baseball season, after all ;-) - so when I'm not here, keep working in the article space. I'd also like you to pitch in at WP:SCV. You don't have to be an admin to work there (or at WP:CP); it will show you the extent of the copyright problems we have and you'll develop an eye for what is and isn't something to worry about.

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. New deal for page patrollers

Hi Dominik92,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

User group for Military Historians

Greetings,

"Military history" is one of the most important subjects when speak of sum of all human knowledge. To support contributors interested in the area over various language Wikipedias, we intend to form a user group. It also provides a platform to share the best practices between military historians, and various military related projects on Wikipedias. An initial discussion was has been done between the coordinators and members of WikiProject Military History on English Wikipedia. Now this discussion has been taken to Meta-Wiki. Contributors intrested in the area of military history are requested to share their feedback and give suggestions at Talk:Discussion to incubate a user group for Wikipedia Military Historians.

April 2021 WikiProject Military History Reviewing Drive

Hey y'all, the April 2021 WikiProject Military History Reviewing Drive begins at 00:01 UTC on April 1, 2021 and runs through 23:59 UTC on April 31, 2021. Points can be earned through reviewing articles on the AutoCheck report, reviewing articles listed at WP:MILHIST/ASSESS, reviewing MILHIST-tagged articles at WP:GAN or WP:FAC, and reviewing articles submitted at WP:MILHIST/ACR. Service awards and barnstars are given for set points thresholds, and the top three finishers will receive further awards.
